Isaiah 65
1 I am sought of [them that] asked not [for me; ] I am found of [them that] sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation [that] was not called by my name.
Ils m’ont cherché, ceux qui auparavant ne m’interrogeaient pas; ils m’ont trouvé, ceux qui ne m’ont pas cherché; j’ai dit: Me voici, me voici, à une nation qui n’invoquait pas mon nom.
2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way [that was] not good, after their own thoughts;
J’ai étendu mes mains tout le jour à un peuple incrédule, qui marche dans une voie qui n’est pas bonne, à la suite de ses pensées.
3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
C’est un peuple qui me provoque au courroux devant ma face sans cesse; qui immolent dans les jardins, et sacrifient sur les briques;
4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable [things is in] their vessels;
Qui habitent dans les sépulcres, qui dorment dans les temples des idoles; qui mangent de la chair de porc, et mettent du jus profane dans leurs vases;
5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These [are] a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
Qui disent: Retire-toi de moi, ne m’approche pas, parce que tu es impur; ceux-là seront une fumée dans ma fureur, un feu brûlant tout le jour.
6 Behold, [it is] written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
Voilà que c’est écrit devant moi; je ne me tairai pas, mais je rendrai, et je verserai dans leur sein
7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
Vos iniquités, dit le Seigneur, en même temps que les iniquités de vos pères, qui ont sacrifié sur les montagnes, et m’ont outragé sur les collines, et je verserai leurs premières œuvres à égale mesure dans leur sein.
8 Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and [one] saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing [is] in it: so will I do for my servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: De même que si on trouve un grain dans une grappe de raisin, et Sion dit: Ne le perds pas, parce que c’est une bénédiction, de même aussi je ferai en sorte, à cause de mes serviteurs, que je ne perde pas entièrement tout Israël.
9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
Je ferai sortir de Jacob une postérité, et de Juda celui qui possédera mes montagnes; mes élus hériteront de cette terre et mes serviteurs y habiteront.
10 And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.
Et les campagnes serviront de parcs aux troupeaux de menu bétail, et la vallée d’Achor, de retraite aux troupeaux de gros bétail, en faveur de ceux de mon peuple qui m’ont recherché.
11 But ye [are] they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
Mais vous qui avez abandonné le Seigneur, qui avez oublié ma montagne sainte, qui dressez une table à la Fortune, et y faites des libations,
12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose [that] wherein I delighted not.
Je vous compterai avec le glaive, et tous vous tomberez dans ce carnage, parce que j’ai appelé, et vous n’avez pas répondu; j’ai parlé, et vous n’avez pas écouté; vous faisiez le mal à mes yeux, et tout ce que je n’ai pas voulu, vous l’avez choisi.
13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
À cause de cela voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Voilà que mes serviteurs mangeront, et vous, vous aurez faim; voilà que mes serviteurs boiront, et vous, vous aurez soif;
14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
Voilà que mes serviteurs se réjouiront, et vous, vous serez confus; voilà que mes serviteurs chanteront des louanges dans l’exultation de leur cœur, et vous, vous jetterez des cris dans la douleur de votre cœur, et dans le brisement de votre esprit vous pousserez des hurlements.
15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
Et vous laisserez votre nom à mes serviteurs comme un objet d’imprécation; et le Seigneur Dieu te détruira, et il appellera ses serviteurs d’un autre nom,
16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
Dans lequel celui qui est béni sur la terre sera béni dans le Dieu de vérité, et celui qui jure sur la terre jurera par le Dieu de vérité; parce qu’à l’oubli ont été livrées les premières angoisses, et qu’elles ont été cachées à ma face.
17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Car voici que je crée des cieux nouveaux et une terre nouvelle; les choses passées ne seront pas dans la mémoire, et elles ne monteront pas sur le cœur.
18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever [in that] which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Mais vous vous réjouirez, vous exulterez à jamais dans les choses que je crée; parce que voici que je crée Jérusalem exultation, et son peuple joie.
19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Et j’exulterai en Jérusalem, et je me réjouirai en mon peuple; et on n’y entendra plus la voix du pleur et la voix du cri.
20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner [being] an hundred years old shall be accursed.
Il n’y aura plus là d’enfants de peu de jours, et de vieillard qui ne remplisse ses jours; parce que l’enfant mourra à cent ans, et que le pécheur de cent ans sera maudit.
21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit [them; ] and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
Et ils bâtiront des maisons et ils les habiteront; ils planteront des vignes et ils en mangeront les fruits.
22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree [are] the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
Ils ne bâtiront pas pour qu’un autre habite; ils ne planteront pas pour qu’un autre mange; car à l’égal des jours de l’arbre, seront les jours de mon peuple; et les ouvrages de leurs mains auront une longue durée;
23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they [are] the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
Mes élus ne travailleront pas en vain, et ils n’engendreront pas dans le trouble; parce qu’ils sont la race des bénis du Seigneur, et que leurs descendants seront bénis avec eux.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Et il arrivera qu’avant qu’ils crient, moi je les exaucerai; eux parlant encore, j’écouterai.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
Le loup et l’agneau paîtront ensemble; le lion et le bœuf mangeront la paille, et pour le serpent, la poussière sera son pain; ils ne nuiront point, et ils ne tueront point sur toute ma montagne sainte, dit le Seigneur.
