Isaiah 6
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
În anul în care împăratul Ozia a murit am văzut de asemenea pe Domnul şezând pe un tron, înalt şi ridicat, şi trena lui a umplut templul.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
Deasupra stăteau serafimii, fiecare avea şase aripi; cu două îşi acoperea faţa şi cu două îşi acoperea picioarele şi cu două zbura.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of his glory.
Şi unul striga către altul şi spunea: Sfânt, sfânt, sfânt este DOMNUL oştirilor, întregul pământ este plin de gloria sa.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
Şi stâlpii uşii se mişcau la vocea celui care striga şi s-a umplut casa cu fum.
5 Then said I, Woe [is] me! for I am undone; because I [am] a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
Atunci am spus: Vai mie! Căci sunt stârpit, pentru că sunt un om cu buze necurate şi locuiesc în mijlocul unui popor cu buze necurate, fiindcă ochii mei au văzut pe Împăratul, pe DOMNUL oştirilor.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, [which] he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
Atunci unul dintre serafimi a zburat la mine, având în mâna lui un cărbune aprins, pe care îl luase cu cleştii de pe altar;
7 And he laid [it] upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Şi l-a aşezat pe gura mea şi a spus: Iată, acesta ţi-a atins buzele; şi nelegiuirea ta este înlăturată şi păcatul tău îndepărtat.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me.
De asemenea am auzit vocea Domnului, spunând: Pe cine să trimit şi cine va merge pentru noi? Atunci am spus: Iată-mă, trimite-mă.
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
Iar el a spus: Du-te şi spune acestui popor: Auziţi, într-adevăr, dar nu înţelegeţi; şi priviţi, într-adevăr, dar nu pricepeţi.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
Îngraşă inima acestui popor şi îngreunează-le urechile şi închide-le ochii, ca să nu vadă cu ochii lor şi să nu audă cu urechile lor şi să nu înţeleagă cu inima lor şi să se întoarcă şi să fie vindecaţi.
11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
Atunci am spus: Doamne, până când? Iar el a răspuns: Până când cetăţile vor rămâne pustiite, fără locuitori, şi casele, fără oameni, şi pământul complet pustiit,
12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and [there be] a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
Şi DOMNUL va fi îndepărtat pe oameni şi va fi o mare părăsire în mijlocul ţării.
13 But yet in it [shall be] a tenth, and [it] shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance [is] in them, when they cast [their leaves: so] the holy seed [shall be] the substance thereof.
Dar totuşi în aceasta va rămâne o zecime şi ea se va întoarce şi va fi mâncată ca un ulm şi ca un stejar a căror viaţă este în ei, când îşi scutură frunzele; [tot astfel] sămânţa sfântă va fi viaţa acesteia.
