< Isaiah 47 >

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
Aw Babylon canu tangla kacuem, caeh tathuk ah loe, maiphu thungah anghnu ah; Aw Khaldian canu, angraeng tangkhang pong na ai long ah anghnu ah; nangcae loe na pan daek moe, na nawk tuep, tiah mi mah doeh na naa mak ai boeh.
2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
Cang kaehhaih thlung to lah loe, cang to kae ah; na mikhmai padaphaih to takhoe ah loe, na canghnak to angkhring ah, na phaih khoek to thlaek ah loe, vapuinawk to angkat ah.
3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet [thee as] a man.
Bangkrai ah na om tih, azathaih to na padap thai mak ai; mi doeh pathlung ai ah, lu kang lak han.
4 [As for] our redeemer, the LORD of hosts [is] his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Kaicae pahlongkung loe, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Ciimcai Israel Sithaw, tiah ahmin oh.
5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
Aw Khaldian kaminawk ih canu, lok apae ai ah anghnu duem ah, vinghaih thungah caeh ah; nang loe praenawk ih angraeng zu, tiah mi mah doeh kawk o mak ai boeh.
6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
Kaimah ih kaminawk nuiah palung ka phui, ka toep ih qawknawk doeh kam hnongsak boeh pongah, to hmuennawk to nangcae ban ah ka paek boeh; nihcae nuiah tahmenhaih roe na tawn ai; mitongnawk nuiah doeh kazit parai hmuen to na koeng pae boeh.
7 And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: [so] that thou didst not lay these [things] to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
angraeng zu ah ka oh poe han, tiah na poek pongah, hae hmuennawk hae na poek ai; nangmah khae kapha han koi hnukkhuem koekah kaom boenghaih doeh na poek ai.
8 Therefore hear now this, [thou that art] given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I [am], and none else beside me; I shall not sit [as] a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
To pongah nongpa nongpata zae sakhaih bangah ka nawm acaeng moe, mawnhaih tawn ai ah khosah kami, kai ai ah loe kalah mi doeh om ai; kai loe lamhmai baktiah om sut mak ai, caanawk duekhaih doeh ka tongh mak ai, tiah poek kami nang, vaihi tahngai ah;
9 But these two [things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, [and] for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
nang loe miklet kop kami, taqawk thacakhaih hoiah tahmaa thaih kaminawk mah na bomh o khing cadoeh, caanawk duekhaih hoi lamhmai ah angcoenghaih hmuen hnetto mah akra ai ah nito thungah na pha thui tih.
10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I [am], and none else beside me.
11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, [which] thou shalt not know.
Raihaih na nuiah pha tih, naa bang hoiah maw angzoh, tiah na panoek mak ai; kawbangah doeh pathlaeng thai ai, raihaih mah na pha thui tih; na panoek ai ih amrohaih to na nuiah krah tih.
12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
Na nawkta nathuem hoiah na patoh ih miklet hoi angzo han koi hmuen tahmaahaihnawk to mah, kacakah angdoe haih ah; atho na hnu khoe doeh om tih, na pazawk thai khoe doeh om tih.
13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from [these things] that shall come upon thee.
Nang loe kating ai pop lokthuihaih mah angphosak boeh. Van ah kaom hmuennawk khet kop kaminawk, cakaeh khet kop kaminawk, khrah khethaih hoi hmabang na tongh han koi hmuen thui thaih kaminawk to vaihi angthawk o nasoe loe, na nuiah angzo han koi amrohaih thung hoiah na pahlong o nasoe.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: [there shall] not [be] a coal to warm at, [nor] fire to sit before it.
Khenah, nihcae loe caphaeh baktiah ni oh o tangtang; nihcae loe hmai mah kang tih; angmacae hoi angmacae doeh thacak hmaipalai thung hoiah pahlong o thai ai; kami ngan betsak hanah hmaisaae to om mak ai, hmai angawt hanah doeh om mak ai.
15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, [even] thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
Nang hoi nawnto toksah kami, na nawkta nathuem hoiah nang hoi nawnto hmuen zawhhaih sah kaminawk loe nang hanah to tiah sah o ueloe, maeto hoi maeto angmacae sakpazaehaih loklam ah caeh o tih, mi mah doeh nang to pahlong thai mak ai.
