Isaiah 44
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
“ഇപ്പോൾ എന്റെ ദാസനായ യാക്കോബേ, ഞാൻ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ഇസ്രായേലേ, കേട്ടുകൊൾക.
2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, [which] will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
നിന്നെ നിർമിച്ചവനും ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉരുവാക്കിയവനും നിന്നെ സഹായിക്കുന്നവനുമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എന്റെ ദാസനായ യാക്കോബേ, ഞാൻ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യെശൂരൂനേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
ദാഹിക്കുന്ന ഭൂമിയിൽ ഞാൻ ജലം പകർന്നുകൊടുക്കും, ഉണങ്ങിവരണ്ട നിലത്ത് ഞാൻ അരുവികൾ ഒഴുക്കും; നിന്റെ സന്തതിയുടെമേൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെയും നിന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളുടെമേൽ എന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തെയും വർഷിക്കും.
4 And they shall spring up [as] among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
അവർ പുൽമേടുകൾക്കിടയിലെ പുല്ലുപോലെ പൊട്ടിമുളയ്ക്കും, അരുവികൾക്കരികെയുള്ള അലരിവൃക്ഷങ്ങൾപോലെ തഴച്ചുവളരും.
5 One shall say, I [am] the LORD’s; and another shall call [himself] by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe [with] his hand unto the LORD, and surname [himself] by the name of Israel.
ചിലർ, ‘ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ സ്വന്തം’ എന്നു പറയും; മറ്റുചിലർ യാക്കോബിന്റെ പേരു സ്വീകരിക്കും; ഇനിയും ചിലർ തങ്ങളുടെ കൈമേൽ, ‘യഹോവയുടേത്’ എന്നെഴുതി ഇസ്രായേൽ എന്ന പേര് സ്വന്തമാക്കും.
6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.
“യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു— ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവും വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനുമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവതന്നെ അരുളുന്നു: ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു ആദ്യനും ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു അന്ത്യനും; ഞാനല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
എന്നെപ്പോലെ മറ്റൊരാൾ ആരുണ്ട്? അവർ അതു പ്രഘോഷിക്കട്ടെ. ഞാൻ എന്റെ പുരാതന ജനതയെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതുമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ സംഭവിച്ചതും ഇനി സംഭവിക്കാനിരിക്കുന്നതുമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾ എന്റെ മുന്നിൽ അയാൾ വർണിക്കട്ടെ— അതേ, എന്താണ് സംഭവിക്കാനിരിക്കുന്നത്; അവർ പ്രവചിക്കട്ടെ.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared [it]? ye [are] even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, [there is] no God; I know not [any].
ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട, പരിഭ്രമിക്കുകയും വേണ്ടാ. ഞാൻ പണ്ടുമുതലേ അത് അറിയിക്കുകയും പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലേ? നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു. ഞാനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ദൈവമുണ്ടോ? ഇല്ല, ഞാനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു പാറയില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ഒരുവനെ ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല.”
9 They that make a graven image [are] all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they [are] their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
വിഗ്രഹത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാവരും കേവലം മൂഢരാണ്, അവരുടെ വിലയേറിയ വസ്തുക്കൾ ഒരു വിലയുമില്ലാത്തവതന്നെ. അവയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ അന്ധരാണ്; അവരുടെ അജ്ഞത ലജ്ജാകരമാണ്.
10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image [that] is profitable for nothing?
നിഷ്‌പ്രയോജനകരമായ ഒരു ദേവതയെ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുകയും വിഗ്രഹം വാർത്തെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ ആർ?
11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they [are] of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; [yet] they shall fear, [and] they shall be ashamed together.
ഇതാ, അവരുടെ കൂട്ടരെല്ലാം ലജ്ജിതരാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ശില്പിയോ, കേവലം മനുഷ്യരാണ്. അവരെല്ലാം ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി ഒരു നിലപാട് എടുക്കട്ടെ; അവർ ഭയന്നുവിറച്ച് ഒരുപോലെ ലജ്ജിതരായിത്തീരും.
12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
ഇരുമ്പുപണിക്കാരൻ ഒരു ആയുധം എടുത്ത് അതുപയോഗിച്ച് കനലിൽവെച്ച് പണിയുന്നു. ചുറ്റികകൾകൊണ്ടടിച്ച് ഒരു വിഗ്രഹത്തിനു രൂപംനൽകുന്നു അയാളുടെ ഭുജബലത്താൽ അത് അടിച്ചു രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. അയാൾ വിശന്നു തളർന്നുപോകുന്നു; വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാതെ അവശനായിത്തീരുന്നു.
13 The carpenter stretcheth out [his] rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
മരപ്പണിക്കാരൻ തടിക്കഷണത്തിൽ അളവുനൂലുകൊണ്ടു തോതുപിടിച്ചു രൂപം അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അയാൾ വൃത്തയന്ത്രംകൊണ്ടു വരയ്ക്കുന്നു, ചീകുളികൊണ്ടു പരുപരുത്തഭാഗം ചെത്തിമാറ്റുന്നു. അയാൾ അതിനു മനുഷ്യാകാരംനൽകുന്നു; ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വെക്കാനായി മനുഷ്യന്റെ എല്ലാ ആകാരവടിവും വരുത്തുന്നു.
14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish [it].
അവൻ ദേവദാരു മുറിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു, അയാൾ പുന്നമരവും കരുവേലകവും കൈവശപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. അവൻ കാട്ടിലെ മരങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ തനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അവയെ വളർത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു, അയാൾ ഒരു അശോകം നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; മഴ അതിനെ വളർത്തുന്നു.
15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth [it], and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth [it; ] he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
അത് ഒരുവൻ തീ കത്തിക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു അതിൽ ഒരുഭാഗം എടുത്തു കത്തിച്ചു തീ കായുന്നു, അയാൾ അതു കത്തിച്ച് അപ്പം ചുടുന്നു. എന്നാൽ അയാൾ അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിനെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു രൂപം കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കി അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീഴുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.
16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth [himself], and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
അതിന്റെ പകുതി അയാൾ തീ കത്തിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്മീതേ ഭക്ഷണം പാകംചെയ്യുന്നു, അയാൾ മാംസം ചുട്ടു മതിയാകുവോളം തിന്നുന്നു. അവൻ ആ തീയിൽ കുളിർമാറ്റുന്നു, “തീകാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ആഹാ! നല്ല തീ, എന്റെ കുളിർ മാറി” എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, [even] his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth [it], and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou [art] my god.
ശേഷിച്ചഭാഗംകൊണ്ട് അയാൾ ഒരു ദേവതയെ നിർമിക്കുന്നു, അയാളുടെ വിഗ്രഹത്തെത്തന്നെ; അയാൾ അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വീണ് അതിനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനോട് പ്രാർഥിച്ച്, “എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കണമേ; നീ എന്റെ ദേവതയല്ലോ!” എന്ന് അയാൾ പറയുന്നു.
18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; [and] their hearts, that they cannot understand.
അവർ ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല, ഒന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; കാണാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണ് അടയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, ഗ്രഹിക്കാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ ഹൃദയവും അടയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
19 And none considereth in his heart, neither [is there] knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten [it: ] and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
“അതിൽ ഒരുഭാഗം ഞാൻ തീ കത്തിച്ചു; അതിന്റെ കനൽകൊണ്ട് അപ്പം ചുട്ടു, മാംസവും ചുട്ടുതിന്നു. അതിന്റെ ശേഷിച്ചഭാഗംകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഒരു മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹമുണ്ടാക്കുമോ? ഒരു മരമുട്ടിയുടെമുമ്പിൽ ഞാൻ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീഴാമോ?” എന്നിങ്ങനെ ആരും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നില്ല, അതിനുതക്ക ബോധവും വിവേകവും ആർക്കുംതന്നെയില്ല.
20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, [Is there] not a lie in my right hand?
അങ്ങനെയുള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ പുല്ലെന്നുധരിച്ചു ചാരം തിന്നുന്ന മൃഗത്തെപ്പോലെയാണ്; അയാളുടെ കബളിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഹൃദയം അയാളെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നു; അവന് സ്വയം രക്ഷിക്കാനോ, “എന്റെ വലങ്കൈയിൽ ഉള്ളതു വെറുമൊരു വ്യാജദേവതയല്ലേ?” എന്നു ചോദിക്കാനോ അയാൾക്കു കഴിയുന്നില്ല.
21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou [art] my servant: I have formed thee; thou [art] my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
“യാക്കോബേ, ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഓർക്കുക, ഇസ്രായേലേ, നീ എന്റെ ദാസനാണല്ലോ. ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നിർമിച്ചു, നീ എന്റെ ഭൃത്യൻതന്നെ; ഇസ്രായേലേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മറന്നുകളയുകയില്ല.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങൾ ഒരു കാർമേഘത്തെപ്പോലെ മായിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രഭാതമഞ്ഞുപോലെ നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളും. എന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരിക, കാരണം ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”
23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done [it: ] shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
ആകാശമേ, ആഹ്ലാദത്തോടെ പാടുക, യഹോവ ഇതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗങ്ങളേ, ഉച്ചത്തിൽ ആർക്കുക. പർവതങ്ങളേ, പൊട്ടിയാർക്കുക, വനങ്ങളേ, അതിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളുമേ, യഹോവ യാക്കോബിനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തല്ലോ, ഇസ്രായേലിൽ അവിടത്തെ മഹത്ത്വം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തല്ലോ.
24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I [am] the LORD that maketh all [things; ] that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
“നിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരൻ, ഗർഭത്തിൽ നിന്നെ ഉരുവാക്കിയവനുമായ, യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ സകലതും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു, ഞാൻതന്നെ ആകാശത്തെ വിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയെ പരത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise [men] backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
വ്യാജപ്രവാചകരുടെ ചിഹ്നങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കുകയും ദേവപ്രശ്നംവെക്കുന്നവരെ മൂഢരാക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു, ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ പാണ്ഡിത്യം മറിച്ചിട്ട് അതു വെറും ഭോഷത്തമാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നു.
26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ വചനം ഞാൻ നിവൃത്തിയാക്കുന്നു, എന്റെ സന്ദേശവാഹകരുടെ പ്രവചനം ഞാൻ നിറവേറ്റുന്നു. “ജെറുശലേമിനെക്കുറിച്ച്, ‘നിന്നിൽ നിവാസികൾ ഉണ്ടാകും,’ എന്നും യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച്, ‘അവ പണിയപ്പെടും,’ എന്നും അതിലെ നാശാവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച്, ‘ഞാൻ അവ പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കും,’ എന്നും ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:
ആഴിയോട് ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നു, ‘ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുക, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ നദികളെ വറ്റിച്ചുകളയും,’
28 That saith of Cyrus, [He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
കോരെശിനെക്കുറിച്ച്, ‘ഞാൻ നിയമിച്ച ഇടയൻ, അയാൾ എന്റെ ഹിതമെല്ലാം നിറവേറ്റും; ജെറുശലേമിനെക്കുറിച്ച്, “അതു പുനർനിർമിക്കപ്പെടട്ടെ,” എന്നും ദൈവാലയത്തെക്കുറിച്ച്, “അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇടപ്പെടട്ടെ”’ എന്നും കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻതന്നെ.”
