Isaiah 40
1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
೧“ನನ್ನ ಸಂತೈಸಿರಿ, ಸಂತೈಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.
೨ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೃದಯಂಗಮವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿರಿ; ಅದರ ಗಡು ತೀರಿತು, ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ದೋಷಫಲವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆರವೇರಿತು, ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಆ ನಗರಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿರಿ; ಇದೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆ.
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
೩ಇಗೋ ಒಂದು ವಾಣಿ! “ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿರಿ”
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
೪ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಳ್ಳಕೊಳ್ಳಗಳು ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಡುವವು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವು, ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯಾಗುವುದು. ಒರಟಾದ ನೆಲವು ಸಮವಾಗುವುದು.
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].
೫ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಗೋಚರವಾಗುವುದು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವರು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಬಾಯೇ ಇದನ್ನು ನುಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh [is] grass, and all the goodliness thereof [is] as the flower of the field:
೬ಆಹಾ, ವಾಣಿಯು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿ, “ಕೂಗು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತದೆ” ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು, “ಏನು ಕೂಗಲಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, “ನರಜಾತಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗಿದೆ, ಅದರ ಲಾವಣ್ಯವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಡವಿಯ ಹೂವಿನಂತಿದೆ.
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people [is] grass.
೭ಯೆಹೋವನ ಶ್ವಾಸವು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಹೂವು ಬಾಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಜನರು ಹುಲ್ಲೇ ಹುಲ್ಲು!
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
೮ಹುಲ್ಲು ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಹೂವು ಬಾಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮಾತೋ ಸದಾಕಾಲವೂ ಇರುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರವಾಯಿತು.
9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift [it] up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
೯ಶುಭಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ಚೀಯೋನೇ, ನೀನು ಉನ್ನತಪರ್ವತವನ್ನು ಏರು; ಸುವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತು, ನಿರ್ಭಯವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಿ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong [hand], and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him.
೧೦ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಶೂರನಾಗಿ ಬರುವನು, ತನ್ನ ಭುಜಬಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಆಳುವನು. ಇಗೋ, ಆತನ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಲಾಭವು ಆತನೊಂದಿಗಿದೆ, ಆತನ ಶ್ರಮದ ಫಲವು ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಇದೆ.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry [them] in his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that are with young.
೧೧ಆತನು ಕುರುಬನಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸುವನು, ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಎದೆಗಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಹಾಲು ಕುಡಿಸುವ ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಲ್ಲನೆ ನಡೆಸುವನು” ಎಂದು ಸಾರು.
12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
೧೨ಯಾರು ಸಾಗರ ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾದ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅಳತೆಮಾಡಿದವನು? ಯಾರು ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗೇಣಿನಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದವನು? ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಳಗಕ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬಿದವನು ಯಾರು? ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ತ್ರಾಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ತೂಗಿದವನು ಯಾರು?
13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or [being] his counsellor hath taught him?
೧೩ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ವಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು? ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಕರ್ತನಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದವರು ಯಾರು?
14 With whom took he counsel, and [who] instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
೧೪ಆತನು ಯಾರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು? ಯಾರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಕಲಿಸಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿಸಿದನು? ಯಾರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿ ವಿವೇಕ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದವನು?
15 Behold, the nations [are] as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
೧೫ಆಹಾ, ಆತನ ಗಣನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಕಪಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಉದುರುವ ತುಂತುರಿನಂತೆಯೂ, ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಧೂಳಿನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇಗೋ, ದ್ವೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅಣುರೇಣುವಿನಂತೆ ಎತ್ತುತ್ತಾನೆ.
16 And Lebanon [is] not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
೧೬(ಆತನಿಗರ್ಪಿಸತಕ್ಕ) ಹೋಮಕ್ಕೆ ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಸಾಲದು, ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಲದು.
17 All nations before him [are] as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
೧೭ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಿವೆ, ಅವು ಆತನ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧಶೂನ್ಯವೇ.
18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
೧೮ಹೀಗಿರಲು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸುವಿರಿ? ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡುವಿರಿ?
19 The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
೧೯ವಿಗ್ರಹವಾದರೋ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಎರಕಹೊಯ್ಯುವನು, ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಕವಚವನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸರಪಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವನು.
20 He that [is] so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree [that] will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, [that] shall not be moved.
೨೦(ಇಂಥದನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ) ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರದ ಬಡವನು, ಹುಳಿತು ಹೋಗದ ಮರವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಚಲಿಸದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಲು ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
೨೧ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀವು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಆದಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಭೂಮಿಯು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದ ದಿನದಿಂದ ನೀವು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
22 [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
೨೨ಭೂಮಂಡಲ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳಂತೆ ಸಣ್ಣಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಉನ್ನತವಾದ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ನಾರುಬಟ್ಟೆಯಂತೆ ಹರಡಿ ನಿವಾಸದ ಗುಡಾರದಂತೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
೨೩ಪ್ರಭುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ನಾಮ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಭೂಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶೂನ್ಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
೨೪ಇವರು ನೆಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕೂಡಲೆ, ಬಿತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕ್ಷಣವೇ, ಇವರ ಸಂತಾನವು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೂರಿದಾಗಲೇ, ಆತನ ಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ಬಾಡುವರು, ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಇವರನ್ನು ಒಣಹುಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಬಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು.
25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
೨೫ಹೀಗಿರಲು, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿ ಸರಿಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಸದಮಲಸ್ವಾಮಿಯು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these [things], that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that [he is] strong in power; not one faileth.
೨೬ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ! ಈ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದಾತನು ಯಾರು? ಈ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹೆಸರೆತ್ತಿ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆತನು ಅತಿ ಬಲಾಢ್ಯನೂ, ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗದು.
27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
೨೭ಯಾಕೋಬೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೇ, “ನನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಬೇಕಾದ ನ್ಯಾಯವು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಏಕೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀ?
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? [there is] no searching of his understanding.
೨೮ನೀನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿರಂತರ ದೇವರೂ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ದಣಿದು ಬಳಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆತನ ವಿವೇಕವು ಪರಿಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಅಗಮ್ಯ.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to [them that have] no might he increaseth strength.
೨೯ಸೋತವನಿಗೆ ತ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ, ಬಲಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಬಲವನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
೩೦ಯುವಕರೂ ದಣಿದು ಬಳಲುವರು, ತರುಣರೂ ಸೊರಗಿ ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವರು.
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
೩೧ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವವರೋ ಹೊಸ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವರು; ಅವರು ಹದ್ದುಗಳಂತೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಏರುವರು; ಅವರು ಓಡಿ ದಣಿಯರು, ನಡೆದು ಬಳಲರು.
