Isaiah 28
1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty [is] a fading flower, which [are] on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
Wehe der prächtigen Krone der Trunkenen von Ephraim, der welken Blume ihrer lieblichen HERRLIchkeit, welche stehet oben über einem fetten Tal derer, die vom Wein taumeln!
2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, [which] as a tempest of hail [and] a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
Siehe, ein Starker und Mächtiger vom HERRN, wie ein Hagelsturm, wie ein schädlich Wetter, wie ein Wassersturm, die mächtiglich einreißen, wird ins Land gelassen mit Gewalt,
3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:
daß die prächtige Krone der Trunkenen von Ephraim mit Füßen zertreten werde.
4 And the glorious beauty, which [is] on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, [and] as the hasty fruit before the summer; which [when] he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
Und die welke Blume ihrer lieblichen HERRLIchkeit, welche stehet oben über einem fetten Tal, wird sein gleich wie das Reife vor dem Sommer, welches verdirbt, wenn man es noch an seinem Zweige hangen siehet.
5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
Zu der Zeit wird der HERR Zebaoth sein eine liebliche Krone und herrlicher Kranz den Übrigen seines Volks
6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
und ein Geist des Rechts dem, der zu Gericht sitzt, und eine Stärke denen, die vom Streit wiederkommen zum Tor.
7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble [in] judgment.
Dazu sind diese auch vom Wein toll worden und taumeln von starkem Getränk. Denn beide, Priester und Propheten, sind toll von starkem Getränke, sind in Wein ersoffen und taumeln von starkem Getränke; sie sind toll im Weissagen und köcken die Urteile heraus.
8 For all tables are full of vomit [and] filthiness, [so that there is] no place [clean].
Denn alle Tische sind voll Speiens und Unflats an allen Orten.
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts.
Wen soll er denn lehren Erkenntnis? Wem soll er zu verstehen geben die Predigt? Den Entwöhnten von der Milch; denen, die von Brüsten abgesetzt sind.
10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:
Denn (sie sagen): Gebeut hin, gebeut her; gebeut hin, gebeut her; harre hie, harre da; harre hie, harre da; hie ein wenig, da ein wenig!
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Wohlan, er wird einmal mit spöttischen Lippen und mit einer andern Zunge reden zu diesem Volk, welchem jetzt dies geprediget wird:
12 To whom he said, This [is] the rest [wherewith] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
So hat man Ruhe, so erquickt man die Müden, so wird man stille; und wollen doch solcher Predigt nicht.
13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Darum soll ihnen auch des HERRN Wort eben also werden: Gebeut hin, gebeut her; gebeut hin, gebeut her; harre hie, harre da; harre hie; harre da; hie ein wenig, da ein wenig, daß sie hingehen und zurückfallen, zerbrechen, verstrickt und gefangen werden.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which [is] in Jerusalem.
So höret nun des HERRN Wort, ihr Spötter, die ihr herrschet über dies Volk, so zu Jerusalem ist.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Sheol h7585)
Denn ihr sprechet: Wir haben mit dem Tode einen Bund und mit der Hölle einen Verstand gemacht; wenn eine Flut dahergehet, wird sie uns nicht treffen; denn wir haben die Lüge zu unserer Zuflucht und Heuchelei zu unserem Schirm gemacht. (Sheol h7585)
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Darum spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich lege in Zion einen Grundstein, einen bewährten Stein, einen köstlichen Eckstein, der wohl gegründet ist. Wer glaubet, der fleucht nicht.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Und ich will das Recht zur Richtschnur und die Gerechtigkeit zum Gewicht machen; so wird der Hagel die falsche Zuflucht wegtreiben, und Wasser sollen den Schirm wegschwemnen,
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
daß euer Bund mit dem Tode los werde und euer Verstand mit der Hölle nicht bestehe; und wenn eine Flut dahergehet, wird sie euch zertreten; sobald sie dahergehet, wird sie euch wegnehmen. (Sheol h7585)
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only [to] understand the report.
Kommt sie des Morgens, so geschieht's des Morgens; also auch, sie komme des Tages oder des Nachts. Denn alleine die Anfechtung lehret aufs Wort merken.
20 For the bed is shorter than that [a man] can stretch himself [on it: ] and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself [in it].
Denn das Bett ist so enge, daß nichts übrig ist, und die Decke so kurz, daß man sich drein schmiegen muß.
21 For the LORD shall rise up as [in] mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as [in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
Denn der HERR wird sich aufmachen wie auf dem Berge Prazim und zürnen wie im Tal Gibeon, daß er sein Werk tue auf eine andere Weise, und daß er seine Arbeit tue auf eine andere Weise.
22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
So laßt nun euer Spotten, auf daß eure Bande nicht härter werden; denn ich habe ein Verderben und Steuern gehöret, so vom HERRN HERRN Zebaoth geschehen wird in aller Welt.
23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
Nehmet zu Ohren und höret meine Stimme; merket auf und höret meine Rede!
24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?
Pflüget oder brachet oder arbeitet auch ein Ackermann seinen Acker immerdar zur Saat?
25 When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?
Ist's nicht also? Wenn er's gleich gemacht hat, so streuet er Wicken und wirft Kümmel und säet Weizen und Gerste, jegliches, wo er's hin haben will, und Spelt an seinen Ort.
26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, [and] doth teach him.
Also züchtiget sie auch ihr Gott durch Recht und lehret sie.
27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
Denn man drischt die Wicken nicht mit Dreschwagen, so läßt man auch nicht das Wagenrad über den Kümmel gehen, sondern die Wicken schlägt man aus mit einem Stabe und den Kümmel mit einem Stecken.
28 Bread [corn] is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break [it with] the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it [with] his horsemen.
Man mahlt es, daß es Brot werde, und drischt es nicht gar zunichte, wenn man's mit Wagenrädern und Pferden ausdrischet.
29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, [which] is wonderful in counsel, [and] excellent in working.
Solches geschieht auch vom HERRN Zebaoth; denn sein Rat ist wunderbarlich und führet es herrlich hinaus.
