Hosea 8

1 [Set] the trumpet to thy mouth. [He shall come] as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

౧“బాకా నీ నోట ఉంచుకో. ప్రజలు నా నిబంధన అతిక్రమించారు. నా ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని ఉల్లంఘించారు. కాబట్టి యెహోవానైన నా ఇంటి మీద వాలడానికి గద్ద వస్తూ ఉంది అని ప్రకటించు.”

2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.

౨వారు నాకు మొర్రపెడతారు. “మా దేవా, ఇశ్రాయేలు వారమైన మేము నిన్ను ఎరిగిన వారమే.”

3 Israel hath cast off [the thing that is] good: the enemy shall pursue him.

౩కానీ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు సన్మార్గమును విసర్జించారు. కాబట్టి శత్రువు వారిని తరుముతాడు.

4 They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew [it] not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

౪వారు రాజులను నియమించుకున్నారు. కానీ నేను వారిని నియమించలేదు. వారు అధికారులను పెట్టుకున్నారు. కానీ వారెవరూ నాకు తెలియదు. తమ వెండి బంగారాలతో తమ కోసం విగ్రహాలు చేసుకున్నారు. కానీ అదంతా వారు నాశనమై పోవడానికే.

5 Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long [will it be] ere they attain to innocency?

౫ప్రవక్త ఇలా అంటున్నాడు “షోమ్రోనూ, ఆయన నీ దూడను విసిరి పారేశాడు.” యెహోవా ఇలా అంటున్నాడు. నా కోపం ఈ ప్రజల మీద మండుతూ ఉంది. ఎంత కాలం వారు అపవిత్రంగా ఉంటారు?

6 For from Israel [was] it also: the workman made it; therefore it [is] not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

౬ఈ విగ్రహం ఇశ్రాయేలువారి చేతి పనే గదా? కంసాలి దాన్ని తయారు చేశాడు. అది దేవుడు కాదు. షోమ్రోను దూడ ముక్కలు చెక్కలైపోతుంది.

7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

౭ప్రజలు గాలిని విత్తనాలుగా చల్లారు. పెనుగాలిని వారు కోసుకుంటారు. కనిపించే పైరులో కంకులు లేవు. దాన్ని గానుగలో వేస్తే పిండి రాదు. ఒకవేళ పంట పండినా విదేశీయులు దాన్ని కోసుకుంటారు.

8 Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure.

౮ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిని శత్రువులు కబళిస్తారు. ఎవరికీ ఇష్టంలేని ఓటికుండల్లా వారు అన్యజనుల్లో చెదిరి ఉంటారు.

9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.

౯వారు ఒంటరి అడవి గాడిదలాగా అష్షూరీయుల దగ్గరికి పోయారు. ఎఫ్రాయిము తన కోసం విటులను డబ్బిచ్చి పిలిపించుకుంది.

10 Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.

౧౦వారు కానుకలు ఇచ్చి అన్యజనాల్లో విటులను పిలుచుకున్నా ఇప్పుడే నేను వారిని సమకూరుస్తాను. చక్రవర్తి పీడన పెట్టే బాధ కింద వారు కృశించి పోతారు.

11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

౧౧ఎఫ్రాయిము పాపపరిహారం కోసం ఎన్నెన్నో బలిపీఠాలను కట్టింది. కానీ అతడు పాపం చేయడానికి అవే దోహదం చేశాయి.

12 I have written to him the great things of my law, [but] they were counted as a strange thing.

౧౨నేను పదివేల సార్లు అతని కోసం నా ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని రాయించి నియమించినా, అయినా దాన్ని ఎప్పుడూ చూడనట్టుగా అతడు ఉంటాడు.

13 They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat [it; but] the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

౧౩నాకు అర్పించిన పశువుల విషయానికి వస్తే, వారు వాటిని వధించి ఆ మాంసం వారే తింటారు. అలాటి బలులను నేను, అంటే యెహోవాను అంగీకరించను. వారి దోషాన్ని జ్ఞాపకానికి తెచ్చుకుని వారి పాపాలను బట్టి వారిని శిక్షిస్తాను. వారు మళ్లీ ఐగుప్తుకు వెళ్లవలసి వస్తుంది.

14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

౧౪ఇశ్రాయేలువారు తమ సృష్టికర్త అయిన దేవుని మర్చి పోయారు. తమ కోసం భవనాలు కట్టించుకున్నారు. యూదావారు, చాలా పట్టణాలకు కోటలు కట్టుకున్నారు. అయితే నేను వారి పట్టణాలను తగలబెడతాను. వారి కోటలను ధ్వంసం చేస్తాను.
