< Hebrews 11 >

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಆಶಂಸಿತಾನಾಂ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಃ, ಅದೃಶ್ಯಾನಾಂ ವಿಷಯಾಣಾಂ ದರ್ಶನಂ ಭವತಿ|
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
ತೇನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಪ್ರಾಞ್ಚೋ ಲೋಕಾಃ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವನ್ತಃ|
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (aiōn g165)
ಅಪರಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ಜಗನ್ತ್ಯಸೃಜ್ಯನ್ತ, ದೃಷ್ಟವಸ್ತೂನಿ ಚ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಸ್ತುಭ್ಯೋ ನೋದಪದ್ಯನ್ತೈತದ್ ವಯಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಬುಧ್ಯಾಮಹೇ| (aiōn g165)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಹಾಬಿಲ್ ಈಶ್ವರಮುದ್ದಿಶ್ಯ ಕಾಬಿಲಃ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಂ ಬಲಿದಾನಂ ಕೃತವಾನ್ ತಸ್ಮಾಚ್ಚೇಶ್ವರೇಣ ತಸ್ಯ ದಾನಾನ್ಯಧಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣೇ ದತ್ತೇ ಸ ಧಾರ್ಮ್ಮಿಕ ಇತ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಲಬ್ಧವಾನ್ ತೇನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಚ ಸ ಮೃತಃ ಸನ್ ಅದ್ಯಾಪಿ ಭಾಷತೇ|
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಹನೋಕ್ ಯಥಾ ಮೃತ್ಯುಂ ನ ಪಶ್ಯೇತ್ ತಥಾ ಲೋಕಾನ್ತರಂ ನೀತಃ, ತಸ್ಯೋದ್ದೇಶಶ್ಚ ಕೇನಾಪಿ ನ ಪ್ರಾಪಿ ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ತಂ ಲೋಕಾನ್ತರಂ ನೀತವಾನ್, ತತ್ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಿದಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಲೋಕಾನ್ತರೀಕರಣಾತ್ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವಂ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರಾಯ ರೋಚಿತವಾನ್ ಇತಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾನ್|
6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
ಕಿನ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಂ ವಿನಾ ಕೋಽಪೀಶ್ವರಾಯ ರೋಚಿತುಂ ನ ಶಕ್ನೋತಿ ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರೋಽಸ್ತಿ ಸ್ವಾನ್ವೇಷಿಲೋಕೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರಂ ದದಾತಿ ಚೇತಿಕಥಾಯಾಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಶರಣಾಗತೈ ರ್ವಿಶ್ವಸಿತವ್ಯಂ|
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
ಅಪರಂ ತದಾನೀಂ ಯಾನ್ಯದೃಶ್ಯಾನ್ಯಾಸನ್ ತಾನೀಶ್ವರೇಣಾದಿಷ್ಟಃ ಸನ್ ನೋಹೋ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಭೀತ್ವಾ ಸ್ವಪರಿಜನಾನಾಂ ರಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥಂ ಪೋತಂ ನಿರ್ಮ್ಮಿತವಾನ್ ತೇನ ಚ ಜಗಜ್ಜನಾನಾಂ ದೋಷಾನ್ ದರ್ಶಿತವಾನ್ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಲಭ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಪುಣ್ಯಸ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರೀ ಬಭೂವ ಚ|
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನೇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮ್ ಆಹೂತಃ ಸನ್ ಆಜ್ಞಾಂ ಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ಯಸ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಾನಸ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಸ್ತೇನ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತತ್ ಸ್ಥಾನಂ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತವಾನ್ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಾನಸಮಯೇ ಕ್ಕ ಯಾಮೀತಿ ನಾಜಾನಾತ್|
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as [in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಸ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾತೇ ದೇಶೇ ಪರದೇಶವತ್ ಪ್ರವಸನ್ ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಯಾಃ ಸಮಾನಾಂಶಿಭ್ಯಾಮ್ ಇಸ್ಹಾಕಾ ಯಾಕೂಬಾ ಚ ಸಹ ದೂಷ್ಯವಾಸ್ಯಭವತ್|
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God.
ಯಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರೇಣ ನಿರ್ಮ್ಮಿತಂ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತಞ್ಚ ಭಿತ್ತಿಮೂಲಯುಕ್ತಂ ನಗರಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೈಕ್ಷತ|
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಸಾರಾ ವಯೋತಿಕ್ರಾನ್ತಾ ಸನ್ತ್ಯಪಿ ಗರ್ಭಧಾರಣಾಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರವತ್ಯಭವತ್, ಯತಃ ಸಾ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಕಾರಿಣಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ್ಯಮ್ ಅಮನ್ಯತ|
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
ತತೋ ಹೇತೋ ರ್ಮೃತಕಲ್ಪಾದ್ ಏಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಜನಾದ್ ಆಕಾಶೀಯನಕ್ಷತ್ರಾಣೀವ ಗಣನಾತೀತಾಃ ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರಸ್ಥಸಿಕತಾ ಇವ ಚಾಸಂಖ್ಯಾ ಲೋಕಾ ಉತ್ಪೇದಿರೇ|
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of [them], and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
ಏತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಯಾಃ ಫಲಾನ್ಯಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಕೇವಲಂ ದೂರಾತ್ ತಾನಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವನ್ದಿತ್ವಾ ಚ, ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಂ ವಯಂ ವಿದೇಶಿನಃ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿನಶ್ಚಾಸ್ಮಹ ಇತಿ ಸ್ವೀಕೃತ್ಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಪ್ರಾಣಾನ್ ತತ್ಯಜುಃ|
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
ಯೇ ತು ಜನಾ ಇತ್ಥಂ ಕಥಯನ್ತಿ ತೈಃ ಪೈತೃಕದೇಶೋ ಽಸ್ಮಾಭಿರನ್ವಿಷ್ಯತ ಇತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ಯತೇ|
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that [country] from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
ತೇ ಯಸ್ಮಾದ್ ದೇಶಾತ್ ನಿರ್ಗತಾಸ್ತಂ ಯದ್ಯಸ್ಮರಿಷ್ಯನ್ ತರ್ಹಿ ಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತನಾಯ ಸಮಯಮ್ ಅಲಪ್ಸ್ಯನ್ತ|
16 But now they desire a better [country], that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
ಕಿನ್ತು ತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವೋತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟಮ್ ಅರ್ಥತಃ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯಂ ದೇಶಮ್ ಆಕಾಙ್ಕ್ಷನ್ತಿ ತಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ತಾನಧಿ ನ ಲಜ್ಜಮಾನಸ್ತೇಷಾಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರ ಇತಿ ನಾಮ ಗೃಹೀತವಾನ್ ಯತಃ ಸ ತೇಷಾಂ ಕೃತೇ ನಗರಮೇಕಂ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾನ್|
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten [son],
ಅಪರಮ್ ಇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮಃ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾಯಾಂ ಜಾತಾಯಾಂ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನೇಸ್ಹಾಕಮ್ ಉತ್ಸಸರ್ಜ,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
ವಸ್ತುತ ಇಸ್ಹಾಕಿ ತವ ವಂಶೋ ವಿಖ್ಯಾಸ್ಯತ ಇತಿ ವಾಗ್ ಯಮಧಿ ಕಥಿತಾ ತಮ್ ಅದ್ವಿತೀಯಂ ಪುತ್ರಂ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಃ ಸ ಉತ್ಸಸರ್ಜ|
19 Accounting that God [was] able to raise [him] up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರೋ ಮೃತಾನಪ್ಯುತ್ಥಾಪಯಿತುಂ ಶಕ್ನೋತೀತಿ ಸ ಮೇನೇ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಉಪಮಾರೂಪಂ ತಂ ಲೇಭೇ|
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
ಅಪರಮ್ ಇಸ್ಹಾಕ್ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಯಾಕೂಬ್ ಏಷಾವೇ ಚ ಭಾವಿವಿಷಯಾನಧ್ಯಾಶಿಷಂ ದದೌ|
21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, [leaning] upon the top of his staff.
ಅಪರಂ ಯಾಕೂಬ್ ಮರಣಕಾಲೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಯೂಷಫಃ ಪುತ್ರಯೋರೇಕೈಕಸ್ಮೈ ಜನಾಯಾಶಿಷಂ ದದೌ ಯಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಅಗ್ರಭಾಗೇ ಸಮಾಲಮ್ಬ್ಯ ಪ್ರಣನಾಮ ಚ|
22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
ಅಪರಂ ಯೂಷಫ್ ಚರಮಕಾಲೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನೇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ವಂಶೀಯಾನಾಂ ಮಿಸರದೇಶಾದ್ ಬಹಿರ್ಗಮನಸ್ಯ ವಾಚಂ ಜಗಾದ ನಿಜಾಸ್ಥೀನಿ ಚಾಧಿ ಸಮಾದಿದೇಶ|
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw [he was] a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
ನವಜಾತೋ ಮೂಸಾಶ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ತ್ರಾನ್ ಮಾಸಾನ್ ಸ್ವಪಿತೃಭ್ಯಾಮ್ ಅಗೋಪ್ಯತ ಯತಸ್ತೌ ಸ್ವಶಿಶುಂ ಪರಮಸುನ್ದರಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವನ್ತೌ ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞಾಞ್ಚ ನ ಶಙ್ಕಿತವನ್ತೌ|
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
ಅಪರಂ ವಯಃಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋ ಮೂಸಾ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಫಿರೌಣೋ ದೌಹಿತ್ರ ಇತಿ ನಾಮ ನಾಙ್ಗೀಚಕಾರ|
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
ಯತಃ ಸ ಕ್ಷಣಿಕಾತ್ ಪಾಪಜಸುಖಭೋಗಾದ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಜಾಭಿಃ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ದುಃಖಭೋಗಂ ವವ್ರೇ|
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
ತಥಾ ಮಿಸರದೇಶೀಯನಿಧಿಭ್ಯಃ ಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟನಿಮಿತ್ತಾಂ ನಿನ್ದಾಂ ಮಹತೀಂ ಸಮ್ಪತ್ತಿಂ ಮೇನೇ ಯತೋ ಹೇತೋಃ ಸ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರದಾನಮ್ ಅಪೈಕ್ಷತ|
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
ಅಪರಂ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ರಾಜ್ಞಃ ಕ್ರೋಧಾತ್ ನ ಭೀತ್ವಾ ಮಿಸರದೇಶಂ ಪರಿತತ್ಯಾಜ, ಯತಸ್ತೇನಾದೃಶ್ಯಂ ವೀಕ್ಷಮಾಣೇನೇವ ಧೈರ್ಯ್ಯಮ್ ಆಲಮ್ಬಿ|
28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
ಅಪರಂ ಪ್ರಥಮಜಾತಾನಾಂ ಹನ್ತಾ ಯತ್ ಸ್ವೀಯಲೋಕಾನ್ ನ ಸ್ಪೃಶೇತ್ ತದರ್ಥಂ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ನಿಸ್ತಾರಪರ್ವ್ವೀಯಬಲಿಚ್ಛೇದನಂ ರುಧಿರಸೇಚನಞ್ಚಾನುಷ್ಠಿತಾವಾನ್|
29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry [land]: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
ಅಪರಂ ತೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಸ್ಥಲೇನೇವ ಸೂಫ್ಸಾಗರೇಣ ಜಗ್ಮುಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ಮಿಸ್ರೀಯಲೋಕಾಸ್ತತ್ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಮ್ ಉಪಕ್ರಮ್ಯ ತೋಯೇಷು ಮಮಜ್ಜುಃ|
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ತೈಃ ಸಪ್ತಾಹಂ ಯಾವದ್ ಯಿರೀಹೋಃ ಪ್ರಾಚೀರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣೇ ಕೃತೇ ತತ್ ನಿಪಪಾತ|
31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾದ್ ರಾಹಬ್ನಾಮಿಕಾ ವೇಶ್ಯಾಪಿ ಪ್ರೀತ್ಯಾ ಚಾರಾನ್ ಅನುಗೃಹ್ಯಾವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಭಿಃ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ನ ವಿನನಾಶ|
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets:
ಅಧಿಕಂ ಕಿಂ ಕಥಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ? ಗಿದಿಯೋನೋ ಬಾರಕಃ ಶಿಮ್ಶೋನೋ ಯಿಪ್ತಹೋ ದಾಯೂದ್ ಶಿಮೂಯೇಲೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಶ್ಚೈತೇಷಾಂ ವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಕಥನಾಯ ಮಮ ಸಮಯಾಭಾವೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ತೇ ರಾಜ್ಯಾನಿ ವಶೀಕೃತವನ್ತೋ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಕರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ಸಾಧಿತವನ್ತಃ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾನಾಂ ಫಲಂ ಲಬ್ಧವನ್ತಃ ಸಿಂಹಾನಾಂ ಮುಖಾನಿ ರುದ್ಧವನ್ತೋ
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
ವಹ್ನೇರ್ದಾಹಂ ನಿರ್ವ್ವಾಪಿತವನ್ತಃ ಖಙ್ಗಧಾರಾದ್ ರಕ್ಷಾಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವನ್ತೋ ದೌರ್ಬ್ಬಲ್ಯೇ ಸಬಲೀಕೃತಾ ಯುದ್ಧೇ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಣೋ ಜಾತಾಃ ಪರೇಷಾಂ ಸೈನ್ಯಾನಿ ದವಯಿತವನ್ತಶ್ಚ|
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
ಯೋಷಿತಃ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನೇನ ಮೃತಾನ್ ಆತ್ಮಜಾನ್ ಲೇಭಿರೇ, ಅಪರೇ ಚ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೋತ್ಥಾನಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೇರಾಶಯಾ ರಕ್ಷಾಮ್ ಅಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ತಾಡನೇನ ಮೃತವನ್ತಃ|
36 And others had trial of [cruel] mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
ಅಪರೇ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರೈಃ ಕಶಾಭಿ ರ್ಬನ್ಧನೈಃ ಕಾರಯಾ ಚ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿತಾಃ|
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
ಬಹವಶ್ಚ ಪ್ರಸ್ತರಾಘಾತೈ ರ್ಹತಾಃ ಕರಪತ್ರೈ ರ್ವಾ ವಿದೀರ್ಣಾ ಯನ್ತ್ರೈ ರ್ವಾ ಕ್ಲಿಷ್ಟಾಃ ಖಙ್ಗಧಾರೈ ರ್ವಾ ವ್ಯಾಪಾದಿತಾಃ| ತೇ ಮೇಷಾಣಾಂ ಛಾಗಾನಾಂ ವಾ ಚರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ಪರಿಧಾಯ ದೀನಾಃ ಪೀಡಿತಾ ದುಃಖಾರ್ತ್ತಾಶ್ಚಾಭ್ರಾಮ್ಯನ್|
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy: ) they wandered in deserts, and [in] mountains, and [in] dens and caves of the earth.
ಸಂಸಾರೋ ಯೇಷಾಮ್ ಅಯೋಗ್ಯಸ್ತೇ ನಿರ್ಜನಸ್ಥಾನೇಷು ಪರ್ವ್ವತೇಷು ಗಹ್ವರೇಷು ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಶ್ಛಿದ್ರೇಷು ಚ ಪರ್ಯ್ಯಟನ್|
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
ಏತೈಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವೈ ರ್ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಪ್ರಾಪಿ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಯಾಃ ಫಲಂ ನ ಪ್ರಾಪಿ|
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
ಯತಸ್ತೇ ಯಥಾಸ್ಮಾನ್ ವಿನಾ ಸಿದ್ಧಾ ನ ಭವೇಯುಸ್ತಥೈವೇಶ್ವರೇಣಾಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕೃತೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತರಂ ಕಿಮಪಿ ನಿರ್ದಿದಿಶೇ|
