Habakkuk 3
1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.
Ein Gebet Habakuks, des Propheten, ein Klagelied.
2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, [and] was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
Die Kunde über Dich vernahm ich zitternd, Herr, Dein Werk verwirkliche, o Herr, in ein paar Jahren! In ein paar Jahren zeig es! Doch gib im Zorne dem Erbarmen Raum!
3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. (Selah) His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
Von Teman her kommt Gott, der Heilige vom Berge Pharan. (Sela) Den Himmel deckt sein Glanz; die Erde ist erfüllt von seinem Schimmer.
4 And [his] brightness was as the light; he had horns [coming] out of his hand: and there [was] the hiding of his power.
Sein Schein ist wie das Sonnenlicht, und seiner Hand entsprühen Strahlen. Alsdann verhüllt sich seine Herrlichkeit.
5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.
Die Pest zieht vor ihm her, und Fieber folgt ihm auf dem Fuß.
6 He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways [are] everlasting.
Und tritt er auf, zertrümmert er die Erde; mit seinem Blick zersprengt er Heidenvölker. Uralte Berge bersten, alte Hügel sinken hin und alte Wege vor ihm nieder.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: [and] the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.
Ich sehe, wie sich Kuschans Zelte ducken; im Lande Midian erzittern Zeltdecken.
8 Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? [was] thine anger against the rivers? [was] thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses [and] thy chariots of salvation?
Ist gegen Fluten, Herr, Dein Zorn entbrannt, ja, gegen Fluten? Befällt das Meer Dein Grimm? Besteigst Du deine Rosse, Deine Kriegswagen?
9 Thy bow was made quite naked, [according] to the oaths of the tribes, [even thy] word. (Selah) Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.
Und wird Dein Bogen ganz enthüllt? Und füllst Du denn mit Pfeilen Deinen Köcher? (Sela) Und spaltest Du die Erde über alles Maß?
10 The mountains saw thee, [and] they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, [and] lifted up his hands on high.
Erbebend schauen Berge Dich, und Wasser läßt der Regen strömen. Erdröhnen läßt die Tiefe ihre Stimme; die Höhe reckt die Hände aus.
11 The sun [and] moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, [and] at the shining of thy glittering spear.
In ihrer Wohnung bleiben Mond und Sonne. Leuchtend fliegen Deine Pfeile hin; Dein Speer blitzt glänzend auf.
12 Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.
So schreitest Du voll Grimm durchs Land; im Zorn zertrittst Du Heidenvölker.
13 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, [even] for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. (Selah)
Du ziehst zu Hilfe Deinem Volk, zu helfen dem, den Du gesalbt. Du schlägst die Spitze ab im Haus des Frevlers; den Grund entblößest Du bis auf das äußerste. (Sela)
14 Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing [was] as to devour the poor secretly.
Du schlägst dann seines Fürsten Haupt samt seinen Scharen nieder, die da herbeigestürmt, mich zu zerschmettern, die einen Siegesjubel angestimmt, als ob sie unbeachtet Wehrlose verzehren könnten.
15 Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, [through] the heap of great waters.
Du stampfest seine Rosse in das Meer, in viele Wasser den Tyrannen.
16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.
Ich höre es; mein Herz erbebt, und bei der Rede zittern meine Lippen. In mein Gebein kommt Schwäche, meine Beine sind gelähmt, weil ich den Drangsalstag erwarte, an dem ein Volk uns überfällt,
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither [shall] fruit [be] in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and [there shall be] no herd in the stalls:
wenn dann die Feigenbäume keine Frucht mehr tragen und keine Frucht mehr an den Reben ist, des Ölbaums Früchte mangeln und die Gefilde keine Nahrung liefern, die Schafe aus den Hürden schwinden und in den Ställen keine Rinder sind.
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Und dennoch juble ich im Herrn und jauchze über meinen Rettergott.
19 The LORD God [is] my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ [feet], and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
Der Herr, der Herr, ist meine Kraft. Schnellfüßig macht er mich gleich Rehen. Auf meine Höhen führt er mich, daß ich mein Zitherspiel ertönen lasse. (Auf den Siegesspender mit Zithern.)
