Galatians 2

1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with [me] also.

۱ پس بعد از چهارده سال با برنابا باز به اورشلیم رفتم و تیطس را همراه خود بردم.

2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

۲ ولی به الهام رفتم و انجیلی را که در میان امت هابدان موعظه می‌کنم، به ایشان عرضه داشتم، امادر خلوت به معتبرین، مبادا عبث بدوم یا دویده باشم.

3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

۳ لیکن تیطس نیز که همراه من و یونانی بود، مجبور نشد که مختون شود.

4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

۴ و این به‌سبب برادران کذبه بود که ایشان را خفیه درآوردند وخفیه درآمدند تا آزادی ما را که در مسیح عیسی داریم، جاسوسی کنند و تا ما را به بندگی درآوردند.

5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

۵ که ایشان را یک ساعت هم به اطاعت در این امر تابع نشدیم تا راستی انجیل در شماثابت ماند.

6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person: ) for they who seemed [to be somewhat] in conference added nothing to me:

۶ اما از آنانی که معتبراند که چیزی می‌باشند -هرچه بودند مرا تفاوتی نیست، خدا بر صورت انسان نگاه نمی کند - زیرا آنانی که معتبراند، به من هیچ نفع نرسانیدند.

7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as [the gospel] of the circumcision [was] unto Peter;

۷ بلکه به خلاف آن، چون دیدند که بشارت نامختونان به من سپرده شد، چنانکه بشارت مختونان به پطرس،

8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles: )

۸ زیرا او که برای رسالت مختونان در پطرس عمل کرد، در من هم برای امت‌ها عمل کرد.

9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we [should go] unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

۹ پس چون یعقوب وکیفا و یوحنا که معتبر به ارکان بودند، آن فیضی را که به من عطا شده بود دیدند، دست رفاقت به من وبرنابا دادند تا ما به سوی امت‌ها برویم، چنانکه ایشان به سوی مختونان؛

10 Only [they would] that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

۱۰ جز آنکه فقرا را یادبداریم و خود نیز غیور به کردن این کار بودم.

11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

۱۱ اما چون پطرس به انطاکیه آمد، او را روبرومخالفت نمودم زیرا که مستوجب ملامت بود،

12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

۱۲ چونکه قبل از آمدن بعضی از جانب یعقوب، باامت‌ها غذا می‌خورد؛ ولی چون آمدند، از آنانی که اهل ختنه بودند ترسیده، باز ایستاد و خویشتن را جدا ساخت.

13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

۱۳ و سایر یهودیان هم با وی نفاق کردند، بحدی که برنابا نیز در نفاق ایشان گرفتارشد.

14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before [them] all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

۱۴ ولی چون دیدم که به راستی انجیل به استقامت رفتار نمی کنند، پیش روی همه پطرس را گفتم: «اگر تو که یهود هستی، به طریق امت‌ها ونه به طریق یهود زیست می‌کنی، چون است که امت‌ها را مجبور می‌سازی که به طریق یهود رفتارکنند؟»

15 We [who are] Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

۱۵ ما که طبع یهود هستیم و نه گناهکاران از امت‌ها،

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

۱۶ اما چونکه یافتیم که هیچ‌کس ازاعمال شریعت عادل شمرده نمی شود، بلکه به ایمان به عیسی مسیح، ما هم به مسیح عیسی ایمان آوردیم تا از ایمان به مسیح و نه از اعمال شریعت عادل شمرده شویم، زیرا که از اعمال شریعت هیچ بشری عادل شمرده نخواهد شد.

17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

۱۷ اما اگر چون عدالت در مسیح را می‌طلبم، خود هم گناهکار یافت شویم، آیا مسیح خادم گناه است؟ حاشا!

18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

۱۸ زیرا اگر باز بنا کنم آنچه راکه خراب ساختم، هرآینه ثابت می‌کنم که خود متعدی هستم.

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

۱۹ زانرو که من بواسطه شریعت نسبت به شریعت مردم تا نسبت به خدا زیست کنم.

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

۲۰ با مسیح مصلوب شده‌ام ولی زندگی می‌کنم لیکن نه من بعد از این، بلکه مسیح در من زندگی می‌کند. و زندگانی که الحال در جسم می‌کنم، به ایمان بر پسر خدا می‌کنم که مرا محبت نمود و خود را برای من داد.

21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

۲۱ فیض خدا را باطل نمی سازم، زیرا اگر عدالت به شریعت می‌بود، هرآینه مسیح عبث مرد.
