Ezekiel 40

1 In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth [day] of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither.

En la vingt-cinquième année de notre transmigration, au commencement de l’année, au dixième jour du mois, en la quatorzième année, après qu’eut été frappée la cité; en ce même jour, la main du Seigneur fut sur moi. et il m’amena là.

2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which [was] as the frame of a city on the south.

Dans des visions divines, il m’amena dans la terre d’Israël, et me laissa sur une montagne très haute, sur laquelle était comme l’édifice d’une cité tournée vers le midi.

3 And he brought me thither, and, behold, [there was] a man, whose appearance [was] like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

Et il m’introduisit là, et voilà un homme dont l’apparence était comme l’apparence de l’airain; et un cordeau de lin était dans sa main, et une canne à mesurer dans son autre main; mais il se tenait à la porte.

4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew [them] unto thee [art] thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Et ce même homme me dit: Fils d’un homme, vois de tes yeux, et écoute de tes oreilles, et applique ton cœur à toutes les choses que moi je te montrerai, parce que c’est pour qu’elles te soient montrées que tu as été amené ici; et annonce tout ce que tu vois à la maison d’Israël.

5 And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits [long] by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

Et voici au dehors un mur tout autour de la maison, et dans la main de l’homme une canne à mesurer de six coudées et d’un palme; et il mesura la largeur de l’édifice, qui était d’une canne; et la hauteur, qui était aussi d’une canne.

6 Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the stairs thereof, and measured the threshold of the gate, [which was] one reed broad; and the other threshold [of the gate, which was] one reed broad.

Et il vint à la porte qui regardait la voie de l’orient, et il monta par ses degrés; et il mesura le seuil de la porte; il avait une canne en largeur, c’est-à-dire qu’un seuil avait une canne en largeur;

7 And [every] little chamber [was] one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers [were] five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within [was] one reed.

Il mesura aussi la chambre; elle avait une canne en longueur et une canne en largeur, et entre les chambres, cinq coudées;

8 He measured also the porch of the gate within, one reed.

Et le seuil de la porte près du vestibule au-dedans de la porte, une canne.

9 Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate [was] inward.

Et il mesura le vestibule de la porte; il avait huit coudées, et son frontispice, il avait deux coudées; or le vestibule de la porte était en dedans.

10 And the little chambers of the gate eastward [were] three on this side, and three on that side; they three [were] of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

Mais à la porte qui regardait la voie de l’orient étaient trois chambres d’un côté et trois chambres de l’autre; les trois chambres et les frontispices des deux côtés étaient d’une même mesure.

11 And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits; [and] the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.

Et il mesura la largeur du seuil de la porte; elle était de dix coudées; et la longueur de la porte, elle était de treize coudées;

12 The space also before the little chambers [was] one cubit [on this side], and the space [was] one cubit on that side: and the little chambers [were] six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

Et un rebord qu’il y avait de van t les chambres; il était d’une coudée; une coudée finissait le rebord des deux côtés; et les chambres d’un côté et de l’autre étaient de six coudées.

13 He measured then the gate from the roof of [one] little chamber to the roof of another: the breadth [was] five and twenty cubits, door against door.

Et il mesura la porte depuis le toit d’une chambre jusqu’au toit de l’autre, largeur de vingt-cinq coudées; une porte était vis-à-vis une autre porte.

14 He made also posts of threescore cubits, even unto the post of the court round about the gate.

Et il fit les frontispices de soixante coudées, et dans ses mesures il ajouta aux frontispices le vestibule de la porte qui régnait d’un côté et de l’autre tout autour.

15 And from the face of the gate of the entrance unto the face of the porch of the inner gate [were] fifty cubits.

Et devant la face de la première porte qui s’étendait jusqu’à la face du vestibule de la porte intérieure, il mesura cinquante coudées;

16 And [there were] narrow windows to the little chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows [were] round about inward: and upon [each] post [were] palm trees.

Il mesura aussi les fenêtres de biais aux chambres et aux frontispices qui étaient au-dedans de la porte, d’un côté et de l’autre tout autour; mais il y avait pareillement au dedans des vestibules, des fenêtres tout autour, et devant les frontispices des palmes peintes.

17 Then brought he me into the outward court, and, lo, [there were] chambers, and a pavement made for the court round about: thirty chambers [were] upon the pavement.

Et il me mena au parvis extérieur; et voici des chambres, et un pavé de pierres dans le parvis tout autour; et trente chambres autour du pavé.

18 And the pavement by the side of the gates over against the length of the gates [was] the lower pavement.

Et le pavé au frontispice des portes était plus bas, selon la longueur des portes.

19 Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, an hundred cubits eastward and northward.

Et il mesura la largeur depuis la face de la porte d’en bas, jusqu’au frontispice du parvis intérieur par dehors; il y avait cent coudées vers l’orient et vers l’aquilon.

20 And the gate of the outward court that looked toward the north, he measured the length thereof, and the breadth thereof.

La porte aussi qui regardait la voie de l’aquilon du parvis extérieur, il la mesura tant en longueur qu’en largeur;

21 And the little chambers thereof [were] three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof [was] fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

Et ses chambres, trois d’un côté et trois de l’autre, et son frontispice et son vestibule, selon la mesure de la première porte; il y avait cinquante coudées de long et vingt-cinq coudées de large.

22 And their windows, and their arches, and their palm trees, [were] after the measure of the gate that looketh toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof [were] before them.

Mais ses fenêtres, son vestibule et ses sculptures étaient selon la mesure de la porte qui regardait vers l’orient; et on y montait par sept degrés, et il y avait au devant un vestibule.

23 And the gate of the inner court [was] over against the gate toward the north, and toward the east; and he measured from gate to gate an hundred cubits.

Et la porte du parvis intérieur était vis-à-vis de la porte de l’aquilon et de l’orient; et il mesura d’une porte à l’autre porte; il y avait cent coudées;

24 After that he brought me toward the south, and behold a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures.

Il me mena aussi vers la voie du midi, et voici une porte qui regardait vers le midi, et il en mesura le frontispice et le vestibule; ils étaient selon les mesures des précédents.

25 And [there were] windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length [was] fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

Il mesura aussi ses fenêtres avec les vestibules autour comme les autres fenêtres; elles avaient cinquante coudées de long, et de large vingt-cinq coudées.

26 And [there were] seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof [were] before them: and it had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.

Et on y montait par sept degrés; et le vestibule était devant la porte; et il y avait des palmes ciselées, une d’un côté et l’autre de l’autre au frontispice du vestibule.

27 And [there was] a gate in the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south an hundred cubits.

Et il y avait une porte au parvis intérieur du côté du midi; et il mesura d’une porte jusqu’à l’autre porte, du côté du midi; il y avait cent coudées.

28 And he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures;

Il m’introduisit aussi dans le parvis intérieur de la porte du midi, et il mesura la porte selon les mesures précédentes,

29 And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and [there were] windows in it and in the arches thereof round about: [it was] fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

La chambre du parvis, et son frontispice, et son vestibule, avec les mêmes mesures; et ses fenêtres et son vestibule tout autour; il y avait cinquante coudées de long, et de large vingt-cinq coudées;

30 And the arches round about [were] five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.

Il mesura aussi le vestibule tout autour; il avait vingt-cinq coudées de long, et de large cinq;

31 And the arches thereof [were] toward the utter court; and palm trees [were] upon the posts thereof: and the going up to it [had] eight steps.

Et son vestibule allait au parvis extérieur; et ses palmes sur le frontispice; or il y avait huit degrés par lesquels on y montait.

32 And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures.

Et il m’introduisit dans le parvis intérieur par la voie de l’orient, et il mesura la porte selon les mesures précédentes,

33 And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, [were] according to these measures: and [there were] windows therein and in the arches thereof round about: [it was] fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

Et sa chambre, et son frontispice, et son vestibule, comme il est dit plus haut; et ses fenêtres, et ses vestibules tout autour; ils avaient cinquante coudées de long, et de large vingt-cinq.

34 And the arches thereof [were] toward the outward court; and palm trees [were] upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it [had] eight steps.

Il mesura aussi son vestibule, c’est-à-dire le vestibule du parvis extérieur; et il y avait des palmes ciselées sur le frontispice d’un côté et de l’autre; et c’est par huit degrés qu’on y montait.

35 And he brought me to the north gate, and measured [it] according to these measures;

Il me mena ensuite vers la porte qui regardait l’aquilon, et il mesura selon les mesures précédentes,

36 The little chambers thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, and the windows to it round about: the length [was] fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

Sa chambre, et son frontispice, et son vestibule, et ses fenêtres tout autour; il y avait cinquante coudées de long, et de large vingt-cinq coudées.

37 And the posts thereof [were] toward the utter court; and palm trees [were] upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it [had] eight steps.

Et son vestibule regardait vers le parvis extérieur; et il y avait des palmes ciselées au frontispice d’un côté et de l’autre; et c’est par huit degrés qu’on y montait.

38 And the chambers and the entries thereof [were] by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering.

Et à chaque chambre du trésor, il y avait une entrée aux frontispices des portes; c’était là qu’on lavait l’holocauste.

39 And in the porch of the gate [were] two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.

Et dans le vestibule de la porte il y avait deux tables d’un côté, et deux tables de l’autre, afin que fût immolé dessus l’holocauste pour le péché et pour le délit.

40 And at the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate, [were] two tables; and on the other side, which [was] at the porch of the gate, [were] two tables.

Et au côté extérieur qui monte vers l’entrée de la porte qui va vers l’aquilon, étaient deux tables; et à l’autre côté devant le vestibule de la porte, deux tables.

41 Four tables [were] on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew [their sacrifices].

Quatre tables d’un côté, et quatre tables de l’autre; aux côtés de la porte, étaient en tout huit tables, sur lesquelles on immolait.

42 And the four tables [were] of hewn stone for the burnt offering, of a cubit and an half long, and a cubit and an half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon also they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice.

Or, les quatre tables pour l’holocauste étaient construites de pierres carrées; elles avaient une coudée et demie de long, et de large une coudée et demie, et de haut une coudée; on mettait dessus les instruments avec lesquels on immolait l’holocauste et la victime.

43 And within [were] hooks, an hand broad, fastened round about: and upon the tables [was] the flesh of the offering.

Et leurs rebords d’un palme se courbaient en dedans tout autour, et on mettait sur les tables les chairs de l’oblation.

44 And without the inner gate [were] the chambers of the singers in the inner court, which [was] at the side of the north gate; and their prospect [was] toward the south: one at the side of the east gate [having] the prospect toward the north.

Et en dehors de la porte intérieure, étaient les chambres des chantres dans le parvis intérieur, qui était à côte de la porte qui regarde vers l’aquilon; et leur face était tournée vers le midi; il y en avait une du côté de la porte orientale, qui regardait vers l’aquilon.

45 And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect [is] toward the south, [is] for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.

Et il me dit: Voici la chambre qui regarde le midi; elle sera pour les prêtres qui veillent à la garde du temple.

46 And the chamber whose prospect [is] toward the north [is] for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these [are] the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the LORD to minister unto him.

Mais la chambre qui regarde vers l’aquilon sera pour les prêtres qui veillent pour le ministère de l’autel; ceux-ci sont les fils de’ Sadoc, qui d’entre les fils de Lévi s’approchent du Seigneur, afin de le servir.

47 So he measured the court, an hundred cubits long, and an hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar [that was] before the house.

Il mesura aussi le parvis; il avait cent coudées de long, et de large cent coudées en carré; et l’autel devant la face du temple.

48 And he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured [each] post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate [was] three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

Et il m’introduisit dans le vestibule du temple, et il mesura le vestibule, il avait cinq coudées d’un côté, et cinq coudées de l’autre; et la largeur de la porte, elle avait trois coudées d’un côté, et trois coudées de l’autre;

49 The length of the porch [was] twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; and [he brought me] by the steps whereby they went up to it: and [there were] pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

Mais il mesura la longueur du vestibule; elle était de vingt-cinq coudées; et la largeur, elle était de onze coudées; et c’était par huit degrés qu’on y montait. Et il y avait dans les frontispices deux colonnes, l’une d’un côté et l’autre de l’autre.
