Ezekiel 21
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Darauf erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:
2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop [thy word] toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
"Jetzt, Menschensohn! Wende dein Antlitz gen Jerusalem und sprich von Heiligtümern und weissage dem Lande Israel!
3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I [am] against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
Sprich zu dem Lande Israel: So spricht der Herr: 'Ich will an dich; ich zieh mein Schwert aus seiner Scheide; ich rotte bei dir aus Unschuldige und Schuldige.
4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
Weil ich bei dir Unschuldige und Schuldige vernichte, kommt mein Schwert aus seiner Scheide auch wider alles Fleisch vom Süden bis zum Norden.
5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
Und alles Fleisch verspürt, daß ich der Herr, mein Schwert aus seiner Scheide zog, unwiderruflich.'
6 Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of [thy] loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
Du aber, Menschensohn! In bittrem Schmerze stöhne, daß die Lenden brechen! Vor ihren Augen stöhne!
7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak [as] water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.
Und sagen sie zu dir: 'Worüber stöhnst du denn?', so sprich: 'Der Nachricht wegen, die gekommen. Darob schmilzt jedes Herz, und lahm sind alle Hände, und jeder Sinn ist stumpf, und über jedes Knie fließt Wasser. So muß es kommen; ja, so muß es werden.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn."
8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Alsdann erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:
9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
"Sag, Menschensohn! Weissage, sprich: So spricht der Herr: 'So sprich: ein Schwert, ein Schwert! Geschärft und blank gemacht!
10 It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, [as] every tree.
Zum Schlachten wurde es geschärft, zum Blitzen blank gemacht, noch mehr als eines Bildhauers und Zimmermannes Beil, das jeden Baum umlegt.
11 And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
Man ließ es schleifen, auf daß man's mit der Hand ergreife. Geschärft und blank gemacht ward dieses Schwert, um es dem Henker in die Hand zu drücken.'
12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it [shall be] upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon [thy] thigh.
Nun schrei, nun heule, Menschensohn! Denn an mein Volk will es, an alle Fürsten Israels. Sie sind samt meinem Volk dem Schwert verfallen. Schlag dich daher auf deine Hüften!
13 Because [it is] a trial, and what if [the sword] contemn even the rod? it shall be no [more], saith the Lord GOD.
Bestimmt ist es, wenn auch das Beil, das fällende, noch fehlen sollte." Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.
14 Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite [thine] hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it [is] the sword of the great [men that are] slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.
"Du, Menschensohn! Weissag und schlag zusammen deine Hände! Das Schwert verdoppelt, ja verdreifacht sich, das Schwert für die zu Mordenden, ist's doch ein Schwert gar groß und mörderisch, so tief einschneidend.
15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that [their] heart may faint, and [their] ruins be multiplied: ah! [it is] made bright, [it is] wrapped up for the slaughter.
Daß man den Mut verliere, daß es zum Sturze vielen Anlaß gebe, stelle ich für das Schwert an alle ihre Tore eine Schlachtbank. Ha! Blank zum Blitzen ist's gemacht; geschliffen ist's zum Schlachten.
16 Go thee one way or other, [either] on the right hand, [or] on the left, whithersoever thy face [is] set.
Wend dich nach Westen, Süden, Ost und Norden, wohin nur deine Schneide ist gerichtet!
17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said [it].
Die Hände schlage ich dann auch zusammen; ich habe meinen Zorn gekühlt. Ja, ich, der Herr, ich hab es ausgesprochen."
18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
Alsdann erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:
19 Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose [it] at the head of the way to the city.
"Du Menschensohn, beachte die zwei Wege, darauf das Schwert des Babelkönigs kommen kann! Vom Lande eines Mannes gehn sie aus. Des Zaubrers Hand am Anbeginn der Wege weist auf Städte.
20 Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
Zugänglich macht sie für des Schwertes Kommen Rabbat bei Ammons Söhnen und Juda mit Jerusalem, der festen Stadt.
21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made [his] arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
Am Scheidewege stand ja Babels König, am Anbeginn der beiden Wege, um ein Orakel einzuholen, dann schüttelt er die Pfeile, befragt die Teraphim, beschaut die Leber.
22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint [battering] rams against the gates, to cast a mount, [and] to build a fort.
Dann fällt zum Ende das Orakel nach rechts hin, auf Jerusalem, auf daß die Mauerbrecher angesetzt und Mordbefehle ausgegeben werden, daß lauter Kriegsgeschrei erschalle und daß man Mauerbrecher an die Tore setze und einen Wall aufschütte, Türme baue.
23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
Zwar kommt dies ihnen wie ein Trugorakel vor, sie schwören's selbst einander zu. Doch er erinnert sich der Schuld, daß sie bezwungen werden müssen."
24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, [I say], that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
Darum spricht so der Herr, der Herr: "Ihr habet mich an eure Schuld erinnert, so offenbar sind eure Sünden, so sichtbar eure Frevel. Ihr steht in solchem Ruf bei allem eurem Tun. Drum werdet ihr bezwungen.
25 And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity [shall have] an end,
Und du, dem Tod verfallener, nichtswürdiger Fürst von Israel, du, dessen Tag erschienen und dessen Sünde jetzt das Ende bringt!"
26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this [shall] not [be] the same: exalt [him that is] low, and abase [him that is] high.
So spricht der Herr, der Herr: "Weg mit dem Diadem! Weg mit der Krone! So soll's nicht weiter bleiben! Empor jetzt mit dem Niedrigen! Herunter mit dem Hohen!
27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [him].
Dreifache Umwälzung verhänge ich. Noch nie ist so etwas geschehen, bis daß der kommt, dem Herrschermacht gebührt. Ich geb sie ihm.
28 And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword [is] drawn: for the slaughter [it is] furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
Du aber, Menschensohn, weissage, sprich: So spricht der Herr, der Herr, von Ammons Söhnen, ihrem schändlichen Betragen. So sprich: 'Ein Schwert ist schon gezückt zum Schlachten, schon blank gemacht zum Kommen unter Blitzen.
29 Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of [them that are] slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity [shall have] an end.
Solang man dir noch Trug erschaut und Lügen prophezeit, wirst du dich selbst zu Missetätern stellen, die jetzt enthauptet werden sollen, für die ihr Tag erschienen ist, die Zeit des Endes ihres Frevels.
30 Shall I cause [it] to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.
Steck nur das deine in die Scheide! Am Ort, wo du erschaffen wardst, in deinem Ursprungsland will ich dich strafen.
31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, [and] skilful to destroy.
Ich gieße meinen Ingrimm über dich und schnaube dich in meinem Zorne an und gebe dich in wilder Menschen Hände, die im Vernichten wohl erfahren sind.
32 Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no [more] remembered: for I the LORD have spoken [it].
Du wirst des Feuers Nahrung werden; dein Blut ist mitten in der Erde und fällt so der Vergessenheit anheim. Denn ich, der Herr, ich hab's gesprochen.'"
