Deuteronomy 6
1 Now these [are] the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do [them] in the land whither ye go to possess it:
१तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने तुम्हास सांगण्यासाठी सांगितलेले विधी, नियम व आज्ञा दिल्या त्या या आहेत. जो प्रदेश तुम्ही वतन करून घेण्यासाठी यार्देनेच्या पैलतीरी जात आहात तेथे हे नियम पाळा.
2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
२तुम्ही, तुमची मुले व नातवंडे या सर्वांनी आमरण आपला देव परमेश्वर याचे भय धरावे. त्याने घालून दिलेले नियम पाळावे, म्हणजे तुम्ही दीर्घायुषी व्हाल.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do [it; ] that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
३इस्राएल लोकहो, काळजीपूर्वक ऐका व हे नियम पाळा. मग तुमचे कल्याण होईल. तुम्ही बहुगुणित व्हाल आणि तुमच्या देशात दुधामधाचे पाट वाहतील. परमेश्वर देवाने कबूल केल्याप्रमाणे सर्वकाही मिळेल.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD:
४हे इस्राएल लोकहो, ऐका! परमेश्वर हाच आपला देव आहे. परमेश्वर एकच आहे.
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
५आणि आपला देव परमेश्वर ह्यावर संपूर्ण अंत: करणाने, संपूर्ण मनाने व संपूर्ण शक्तीने प्रेम करा.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
६मी आज दिलेल्या आज्ञा तुमच्या कायम लक्षात असू द्या.
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
७त्या आपल्या मुलाबाळांनाही शिकवा. घरी-दारी, झोपता उठता त्याविषयी बोलत राहा.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
८त्या लिहून आठवणीसाठी हाताला चिन्हादाखल बांधा व कपाळावर चिकटवा.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
९दरवाजाच्या खांबांवर व फाटकांवर त्या लिहून ठेवा.
10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
१०अब्राहाम, इसहाक आणि याकोब या तुमच्या पूर्वजांना तुम्हास हा देश देण्याचे तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने वचन दिले होते. तो तुम्हास मिळेल. तुम्ही स्वत: वसवलेली नाहीत अशी मोठी, समृध्द नगरे तो तुम्हास देईल.
11 And houses full of all good [things], which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
११उत्तम वस्तूंनी भरलेली घरे परमेश्वर तुम्हास देईल. तुम्हास खोदाव्या न लागलेल्या विहिरी परमेश्वर तुम्हास देईल. तुम्ही लागवड न केलेले द्राक्षांचे आणि जैतून वृक्षांचे मळे तुम्हास देईल. आणि मुबलक अन्नधान्याने तुम्ही तृप्त व्हाल.
12 [Then] beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
१२पण सावध राहा! परमेश्वरास विसरु नका. मिसरमध्ये तुम्ही गुलाम होता पण तेथून त्याने तुम्हास बाहेर आणले.
13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
१३तुमचा देव परमेश्वर याचे भय धरा व त्याचीच सेवा करा. शपथ घेताना त्याच्या नावाने शपथ वाहा, खोट्या देवांच्या नावाने वाहू नका.
14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which [are] round about you;
१४तुमच्या आसपासच्या राष्ट्रांतील लोकांच्या दैवतांच्या नादी लागू नका.
15 (For the LORD thy God [is] a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
१५कारण तुमच्यामध्ये असणारा तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ईर्ष्यावान आहे. त्याच्या लोकांनी इतर दैवतांची पूजा केलेली परमेश्वरास आवडत नाही. भलत्याच दैवतांची तुम्ही पूजा केल्यास त्याचा कोप होईल. त्या क्रोधाने तो तुम्हास पृथ्वीच्या पाठीवरुन नष्ट करील.
16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted [him] in Massah.
१६मस्सा येथे तुम्ही आपला देव परमेश्वर याची परीक्षा पाहिलीत, तसे इथे करु नका.
17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
१७तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने दिलेल्या आज्ञा कटाक्षाने पाळा. त्याच्या शिकवणीचे व नियमांचे पालन करा.
18 And thou shalt do [that which is] right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,
१८उचित आणि चांगले आहे तेच करा. त्यानेच परमेश्वर प्रसन्न होतो. त्याने तुमचे कल्याण होईल. परमेश्वराने जो चांगला प्रदेश तुम्हास द्यायचे तुमच्या पूर्वजांना कबूल केले आहे, त्यामध्ये तुमचा प्रवेश होऊन त्याचे वतन तुम्हास मिळेल.
19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.
१९परमेश्वराने कबूल केल्याप्रमाणे, तुम्ही आपल्या शत्रूंना हुसकावून लावाल.
20 [And] when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What [mean] the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
२०आपल्या परमेश्वर देवाने जी शिकवण दिली, विधी नियम सांगितले त्याचा अर्थ काय असे पुढे तुमची मुले विचारतील.
21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
२१तेव्हा त्यांना सांगा की आम्ही मिसरमध्ये फारोचे गुलाम होतो. परंतु परमेश्वराने आपल्या प्रचंड सामर्थ्याने आम्हास तेथून बाहेर आणले.
22 And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
२२परमेश्वराने मिसरी लोक, फारो व त्याचे कुटुंब यांच्याविरूद्ध मोठे प्रभावी चमत्कार करून दाखवले ते आम्ही प्रत्यक्ष पाहिले आहेत.
23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.
२३आपल्या पूर्वजांना कबूल केलेला प्रदेश आपल्याला द्यायला त्याने आम्हांला मिसरमधून बाहेर आणले.
24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as [it is] at this day.
२४ही सर्व शिकवण पाळायची आज्ञा परमेश्वराने आम्हास दिली आहे. आपण आपला देव परमेश्वर ह्याचे भय बाळगावे. मग तो आपल्याला कायम जिवंत ठेवील व आपले भले करील.
25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
२५जर आपण काळजीपूर्वक आपला देव परमेश्वर याचे सर्व नियम पाळले तर ते आपले नीतिमत्व ठरेल.
