< Deuteronomy 19 >

1 When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;
Na Angraeng Sithaw mah paek ih prae ah kaom kaminawk to nam ro o sak moe, nihcae ih ahmuen to na toep o pacoeng, nihcae ih vangpuinawk hoi im ah na oh o naah,
2 Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
na Angraeng Sithaw mah toep han paek ih, na prae um li ah vangpui thumto nangmacae han pahoe oh.
3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.
Kami hum moeng mi kawbaktih kami doeh, to ahmuen ah cawnh hanah, na Angraeng Sithaw mah ang paek o ih prae to thumto ah tapraek oh loe, to ahmuen ah caehhaih loklam to sah oh.
4 And this [is] the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;
Hnukmahaih tawn ai, palung thung hoi pacaenghaih doeh tawn ai ah, a imtaeng kami to hum moeng naah, kami hum moeng pongah a hinghaih pahlong hanah, to ahmuen ah cawn kami mah sak han ih hmuen loe hae tiah oh;
5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:
thui rumram ah, kami maeto loe thing pakhruk hanah a imtaeng kami hoiah taw ah caeh hoi, caka hoiah thing to pakhruk hoi naah, caka angkhring puk moe, a imtaeng kami to vah mat; to tiah oh naah to kami loe hing hanah, hae ih vangpui maeto thungah cawnh han oh.
6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he [was] not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.
To tih ai nahaeloe athii tho lu la kami mah anih to palungphui hoiah patom ueloe, loklam angthla parai pongah anih to kae naah, hum moeng tih; to kami loe a imtaeng kami hnukmahaih tawn ai pongah, duek han krah ai.
7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.
To pongah ni nangmacae hanah, vangpui thumto pahoe oh, tiah kang thuih o.
8 And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;
Nam panawk khaeah sak ih lokkamhaih baktih toengah, na Angraeng Sithaw mah na prae to kawksak moe, a lokkamhaih baktih toengah, prae pum ang paek o,
9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
vaihniah kang paek o ih loknawk hae na pazui o moe, na sak o; na Angraeng Sithaw to na palung o pacoengah, a loklam ah na caeh o poe nahaeloe, vangpui thumto pahoe oh;
10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee [for] an inheritance, and [so] blood be upon thee.
na Angraeng Sithaw mah qawktoep han paek ih prae thungah, zaehaih tawn ai kami ih athii to palong han ai ah, to tiah sah oh, tiah a thuih; to tiah na sak o nahaeloe, kami athii palonghaih atho nangcae nuiah krah mak ai.
11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:
Toe kami maeto mah a imtaeng kami to hnukma moe, loklam ah angang; anih to boh pacoengah, hum nahaeloe, to vangpui maeto thungah cawn cadoeh,
12 Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.
a ohhaih vangpui thung ih kacoehtanawk mah anih to naeh han kami patoeh ueloe, anih to hum hanah, lu la kami khaeah paek o tih.
13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away [the guilt of] innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.
To baktih kami loe tahmen han om ai; khosak na hoih o thai hanah, zaehaih tawn ai kami athii palonghaih to Israel prae thung hoiah to tiah ciim o sak ah.
14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
Na Angraeng Sithaw mah qawktoep han paek ih prae thungah, canghnii kaminawk mah quen tangcae ih na imtaeng kami ih ramri to tahruet pae o hmah.
15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
Kami maeto ih zaehaih hoi a sakpazaehaih loe, hnukung maeto khue ih lok hoiah cak o sak hmah; hnukung hnetto maw, to tih ai boeh loe thumto mah maw thuih ih lok to cak o sak ah.
16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him [that which is] wrong;
Amsawn hnukung maeto mah kami maeto zaehaih net nahaeloe,
17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy [is], shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
lok angaek kami hnik to, Angraeng hmaa ah to nathuem ah kaom qaimanawk hoi ukkungnawk hmaa ah, angdoe o sak hmaek ah.
18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, [if] the witness [be] a false witness, [and] hath testified falsely against his brother;
Lokcaekkungnawk mah kahoih ah lokcaek pacoengah, to kami loe amsawn hnukung ah om nahaeloe, angmah ih nawkamya to amsawn a net pongah,
19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
to kami mah angmah ih nawkamyanawk nuiah sak han pacaeng ih hmuen baktih toengah, anih nuiah doeh sah oh. To tiah nangcae salak ih kahoih ai hmuen to tahmat oh.
20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
To tiah nahaeloe to ih lok thaih kaminawk mah, to baktih kahoih ai hmuen to nangcae salakah sah o mak ai, zii o tih boeh.
21 And thine eye shall not pity; [but] life [shall go] for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
Anih to tahmen o hmah; toe hinghaih pongah hinghaih; mik pongah mik; haa pongah haa; ban pongah ban, khok pongah khok, tiah lu la pathok oh.
