Colossians 3
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Si han resucitado con Cristo, presta atención a las cosas del cielo, donde Cristo está sentado a la diestra de Dios.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Mantengan su mente en las cosas de arriba, no en las cosas de la tierra.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Porque ustedes están muertos, y tienes una vida escondida con Cristo en Dios.
4 When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
En la venida de Cristo, que es nuestra vida, se les verá con él en gloria y tendrán parte en su gloria.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Luego mata todo lo que es terrenal en sus cuerpos que son de la tierra; fornicación, impurezas, cosas inmundas, pasión, malos deseos, envidia, avaricia que es la adoración de dioses extraños;
6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Por lo cual la ira de Dios viene sobre los hijos de la desobediencia;
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
En las cuales también anduvieron en el pasado, cuando hicieron tales cosas.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Pero ahora es justo que guarden todas estas cosas; ira, pasión, malos sentimientos, maldiciones, charla impura;
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
No hagas declaraciones falsas el uno al otro; porque se han despojado del viejo hombre con todas sus obras,
10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Y te has revestido del hombre nuevo, que se ha hecho nuevo en el conocimiento según a la imagen de su creador;
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and in all.
Donde no hay griego o judío, nadie con circuncisión o sin circuncisión, sin división entre naciones, sin siervo ni hombre libre: pero Cristo es él todo y en todos.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Como santos de Dios, entonces, santos y amados, deje que su comportamiento se caracterice por piedad y misericordia, benignidad, humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye.
Siendo benignos los unos para con los otros y teniendo perdón los unos por los otros, si alguno ha hecho mal a su hermano, así como el Señor los ha perdonado:
14 And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Y más que todos, ten amor; la única forma en que puedes estar completamente unidos.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Y que la paz de Cristo gobierne en sus corazones, ya que fue el propósito de Dios que ustedes sean un solo cuerpo; y alabar a Dios en todo momento.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Que la palabra de Cristo esté en ustedes en toda riqueza de sabiduría; enseñando y ayudándose unos a otros con canciones de alabanza, salmos e himnos y cantos espirituales, haciendo melodía a Dios con gracia en sus corazones.
17 And what soever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Y todo lo que hagan, en palabra o en acto, hazlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, alabando a Dios el Padre por medio de él.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Esposas, estén bajo la autoridad de sus maridos, como conviene en el Señor.
19 Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them.
Maridos, amen a sus mujeres, y no sean ásperos con ellas.
20 Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Hijos, obedezcan a sus padres y madres en todas las cosas, porque esto es agradable al Señor.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children [to anger], lest they be discouraged.
Padres, no provoquen a sus hijos, para que no se desanimen.
22 Servants, obey in all things [your] masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
Siervos, en todas las cosas obedezcan las órdenes de sus amos terrenales; no solo cuando sus ojos están puestos en ustedes, como complacientes de los hombres, sino con todo su corazón, temiendo al Señor:
23 And what soever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Hagan lo que hagan, hazlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Seguros de que el Señor les dará la recompensa de la herencia, porque ustedes sirven al Señor Cristo.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
Porque el malhechor tendrá castigo por el mal que ha hecho, y eso sin respeto por la posición de ningún hombre.
