Amos 5
1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, [even] a lamentation, O house of Israel.
Hört dieses Wort; denn ein Klagelied erhebe ich über euch vom Hause Israel.
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; [there is] none to raise her up.
Gefallen ist, nicht steht sie wieder auf, die Jungfrau Israel, auf ihren Boden hingegeben, niemand richtet sie auf!
3 For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out [by] a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth [by] an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
Denn so spricht der Herr Jehovah: Die Stadt, die auszieht mit tausend, da verbleiben hundert, und die mit hundert auszieht, da verbleiben zehn dem Hause Israel.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
Denn also spricht Jehovah zum Hause Israels: Suchet nach Mir, auf daß ihr lebet.
5 But seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.
Und sucht Bethel nicht, und kommt nicht nach Gilgal, und nach Beerscheba zieht nicht hinüber; denn Gilgal wird in Verbannung weggeführt, und Bethel wird zum Unrecht.
6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour [it], and [there be] none to quench [it] in Beth-el.
Suchet nach Jehovah, daß ihr lebet, auf daß Er nicht wie Feuer hereinbreche in das Haus Joseph, und auffresse und niemand sei, der lösche in Bethel.
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
Die ihr das Recht in Wermut verwandelt und Gerechtigkeit zur Erde niederstoßet.
8 [Seek him] that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD [is] his name:
Er, Der das Siebengestirn und den Orion machte, Der in Morgen den Todesschatten verwandelt, und den Tag zur Nacht verfinstert, Der den Wassern des Meeres ruft und über der Erde Flächen ausgießt, Jehovah ist Sein Name.
9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
Er, Der Verheerung losbrechen läßt über den Starken, daß Verheerung über die Festung kommt.
10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
Sie hassen den, der rügt in dem Tor; und der da rechtschaffen redet, ist ihnen ein Greuel.
11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading [is] upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
Darum, weil ihr den Armen zertretet und die Tracht Getreide von ihm nehmt, baut ihr Häuser aus Quadersteinen, aber ihr sollt nicht darin wohnen; Weingärten der Lust pflanzet ihr, aber den Wein davon sollt ihr nicht trinken.
12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate [from their right].
Denn Ich weiß, eurer Übertretungen sind viel, und zahlreich eure Sünden, die ihr bedrängt den Gerechten, die ihr ein Sühngeld nehmt und im Tor die Dürftigen beugt.
13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it [is] an evil time.
Darum wird stille zu solcher Zeit der Kluge; denn eine böse Zeit ist es.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
Suchet nach dem Guten und nicht nach dem Bösen, auf daß ihr lebt, und also Jehovah, der Gott der Heerscharen, mit euch sei, wie ihr gesprochen habt.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Hasset das Böse und liebt das Gute, und bestellt das Recht im Tor; Jehovah, der Gott der Heerscharen, ist vielleicht gnädig dem Überrest von Joseph.
16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing [shall be] in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
Darum, so spricht Jehovah, der Gott der Heerscharen, der Herr: In allen Straßen ist Klage, und auf allen Gassen sagen sie Wehe! Wehe! Und sie rufen den Ackersmann zur Trauer und zur Klage die des Trauerliedes Kundigen.
17 And in all vineyards [shall be] wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
Und in allen Weingärten ist Klage; denn Ich werde durch deine Mitte hindurchgehen, spricht Jehovah.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end [is] it for you? the day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light.
Wehe denen, die nach dem Tag Jehovahs sich sehnen! Was soll er euch? Der Tag Jehovahs, der ist Finsternis und nicht Licht.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
Wie ein Mann, der vor dem Löwen flieht, und stößt auf einen Bären, und kommt in das Haus, und die Hand an die Wand lehnt, und von einer Schlange gebissen wird.
20 [Shall] not the day of the LORD [be] darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
Ist nicht Finsternis der Tag Jehovahs, und nicht Licht? Und Dunkelheit darin, und kein Glanz?
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
Ich hasse, Ich schmähe eure Feste, und mag nicht riechen eure Festversammlungen.
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept [them: ] neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Denn lasset ihr Mir Brandopfer aufsteigen und eure Speiseopfer, so finde Ich kein Wohlgefallen daran; und das Friedensopfer eures Mastviehs blicke Ich nicht an.
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
Tue weg von Mir das Dröhnen deiner Lieder, und auf das Saitenspiel deines Psalters höre Ich nicht.
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
Und wie die Wasser soll sich das Gericht daherwälzen, und die Gerechtigkeit wie ein reißender Bach.
25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
Habt ihr Mir Schlachtopfer und Speiseopfer die vierzig Jahre in der Wüste herbeigebracht, ihr Haus Israel?
26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
Und ihr trugt den Sichuth, euren König, und Chiun, eure Bilder, den Stern eurer Götter, die ihr aufgemacht.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name [is] The God of hosts.
Und Ich werde euch jenseits Damaskus wegführen lassen, spricht Jehovah, Gott der Heerscharen ist Sein Name.
