Acts 9
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
Ṣùgbọ́n síbẹ̀, Saulu sí ń tẹ̀síwájú nínú mímí èémí ìhalẹ̀ mọ́ni àti ìpani sí àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn Olúwa. Ó tọ olórí àlùfáà lọ,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
ó béèrè ìwé lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀ sí Sinagọgu tí ń bẹ ní ìlú Damasku pé, bí òun bá rí ẹnikẹ́ni tí ń bẹ ni ọ̀nà yìí, ìbá à ṣe ọkùnrin, tàbí obìnrin, kí òun lè mú wọn ní dídè wá sí Jerusalẹmu.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
Ó sì ṣe, bí ó ti ń lọ, ó sì súnmọ́ Damasku; lójijì, ìmọ́lẹ̀ láti ọ̀run wá mọ́lẹ̀ yí i ká.
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Ó sì ṣubú lulẹ̀, ó gbọ́ ohùn tí ó ń fọ̀ sí i pé, “Saulu, Saulu, èéṣe ti ìwọ fi ń ṣe inúnibíni sí mi?”
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Ó sì wí pé, “Ìwọ ta ni, Olúwa?” Olúwa sì wí fún pé, “Èmi ni Jesu, ẹni ti ìwọ ń ṣe inúnibíni sí.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Dìde, kí o sì lọ sí ìlú náà, a ó sì sọ fún ọ nípa ohun tí ìwọ yóò ṣe.”
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
Àwọn ọkùnrin tí wọ́n sì ń bá Saulu lọ àjò dúró, wọn kò sì le sọ ohun kan, wọn gbọ́ ohùn náà ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò rí ẹnìkan.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought [him] into Damascus.
Saulu sì dìde ní ilẹ̀; nígbà tí ojú rẹ̀ sì lá kò rí ohunkóhun; ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n fà á lọ́wọ́ wọ́n sì mú un wá sí Damasku.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
Ó sì gbé ọjọ́ mẹ́ta ni àìríran kò sì jẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò sì mu.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I [am here], Lord.
Ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn kan sì wà ní Damasku, tí a ń pè ni Anania! Olúwa sì wí fún un lójúran pé, “Anania!” Ó sì wí pé, “Wò ó, èmi nìyí, Olúwa.”
11 And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for [one] called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
Olúwa sì wí fún un pé, “Dìde kí ó sì lọ sí ilé Judasi ní òpópónà Tààrà, kí ó sì béèrè ẹni tí a ń pè ni Saulu, ara Tarsu, sá wò ó, ó ń gbàdúrà.
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting [his] hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
Òun sì tí ri ọkùnrin kan lójúran ti a ń pè ni Anania, ó wọlé, ó sì fi ọwọ́ lé e, kí ó lè ríran.”
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
Anania sì dáhùn wí pé, “Olúwa mo tí gbúròó ọkùnrin yìí lọ́dọ̀ ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn, gbogbo búburú ti ó ṣe sí àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ rẹ ni Jerusalẹmu.
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
Ó sì gba àṣẹ láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn olórí àlùfáà wá sí ìhín yìí, láti de gbogbo àwọn ti ń pe orúkọ rẹ.”
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
Ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa wí fún un pé, “Máa lọ; nítorí ohun èlò ààyò ni òun jẹ́ fún mi, láti gbé orúkọ mi lọ sí iwájú àwọn aláìkọlà, àti àwọn ọba, àti àwọn ọmọ Israẹli.
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
Nítorí èmi o fi gbogbo ìyà ti kò le ṣàìjẹ nítorí orúkọ mi hàn án.”
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Anania sì lọ, ó sì wọ ilé náà, nígbà tí ó fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ lé Saulu, ó sì wí pé, “Arákùnrin Saulu, Olúwa ni ó rán mi, Jesu tí ó fi ara hàn ọ lọ́nà tí ìwọ bá wá, kí ìwọ ba à lè ríran, kí ó sì kún fún Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́.”
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
Lójúkan náà nǹkan kan ti ó dàbí ìpẹ́ sì bọ kúrò lójú rẹ̀, ó sì ríran; ó sì dìde, a sì bamitiisi rẹ̀.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
Nígbà tí ó sì jẹun, ara rẹ̀ mókun. Saulu sì wá pẹ̀lú àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn ní Damasku ní ọjọ́ púpọ̀.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
Lójúkan náà ó sì ń wàásù Kristi nínú àwọn Sinagọgu pé, Jesu ni Ọmọ Ọlọ́run.
21 But all that heard [him] were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
Ẹnu sì yà gbogbo àwọn ti ó ń gbọ́, wọn sì wí pé, “Èyí ha kọ ẹni ti ó ti fóòro àwọn ti ń pe orúkọ yìí ni Jerusalẹmu? Nítorí èyí náà ni ó sa ṣe wá sí ìhín yìí, láti mú wọn ní dìde lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn olórí àlùfáà.”
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
Ṣùgbọ́n Saulu ń pọ̀ sí i ní agbára ó sì ń dààmú àwọn Júù tí ó ń gbé Damasku, ó fihàn pé, èyí ni Kristi náà.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ọjọ́ púpọ̀ kọjá, àwọn Júù ń gbìmọ̀ láti pa á.
24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
Ṣùgbọ́n ìdìtẹ̀ wọn di mí mọ̀ fún Saulu. Wọ́n sì ń ṣọ́ ẹnu ibodè pẹ̀lú lọ́sàn àti lóru, wọ́n ń wá ọ̀nà láti pa á.
25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let [him] down by the wall in a basket.
Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ gbé ní òru, wọ́n sì sọ̀ ọ́ kalẹ̀ lára odi nínú agbọ̀n.
26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
Nígbà ti Saulu sì de Jerusalẹmu ó pète láti da ara rẹ̀ pọ̀ mọ́ àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn; gbogbo wọn sì bẹ̀rù rẹ̀, nítorí wọn kò gbàgbọ́ pé ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn kan ni.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought [him] to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
Ṣùgbọ́n Barnaba mú un, ó sì sìn ín lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn aposteli, ó sì sọ fún wọn bí ó ti rí Olúwa ní ọ̀nà, àti bí ó ti fi ìgboyà wàásù ní Damasku ní orúkọ Jesu.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
Saulu sì wà pẹ̀lú wọn, ó ń wọlé, ó sì ń jáde ní Jerusalẹmu. Ó sì ń fi ìgboyà wàásù ni orúkọ Olúwa.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
Ó ń sọ̀rọ̀ lòdì sí àwọn ará Helleni, ó sì ń jà wọ́n ní iyàn; ṣùgbọ́n wọn ń pète láti pa a.
30 [Which] when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Cæsarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
Nígbà tí àwọn arákùnrin sì mọ̀, wọ́n mú sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Kesarea, wọ́n sì rán an lọ sí Tarsu.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judæa and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Nígbà náà ni ìjọ wà ni àlàáfíà yíká gbogbo Judea àti ni Galili àti ni Samaria, wọn ń fẹsẹ̀múlẹ̀, wọn ń rìn ní ìbẹ̀rù Olúwa, àti ni ìtùnú Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, wọn ń pọ̀ sí i.
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all [quarters], he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
Ó sì ṣe, bí Peteru ti ń kọjá lọ káàkiri láàrín wọn, ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ pẹ̀lú si ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ ti ń gbé ni Lida.
33 And there he found a certain man named Æneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
Níbẹ̀ ni ó rí ọkùnrin kan ti a pè ní Aenea tí ó ti dùbúlẹ̀ lórí àkéte ni ọdún mẹ́jọ, ó ní ààrùn ẹ̀gbà.
34 And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
Peteru sì wí fún un pé, “Aenea, Jesu Kristi mú ọ láradá; dìde kí ó sì tún àkéte rẹ ṣe.” Ó sì dìde lójúkan náà.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
Gbogbo àwọn tí ń gbé Lida àti Ṣaroni sì rí i, wọn sì yípadà sí Olúwa.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
Ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn kan sí wà ní Joppa ti a ń pè ni Tabita (èyí tí ó túmọ̀ sí Dọkasi); obìnrin yìí pọ̀ ni iṣẹ́ oore, àti ìtọrẹ àánú ṣíṣe.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid [ her] in an upper chamber.
Ní àkókò náà ni ó wà nínú àìsàn, ó sì kú, wọ́n sì wẹ òkú rẹ̀, wọ́n sì gbé òkú rẹ̀ sí iyàrá òkè.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring [him] that he would not delay to come to them.
Bí Lida sì ti súnmọ́ Joppa, nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn gbọ́ pé Peteru wà níbẹ̀, wọ́n rán ọkùnrin méjì sí i láti bẹ̀ ẹ́ pé, “Má ṣe jáfara láti dé ọ̀dọ̀ wa.”
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
Peteru sí dìde, ó sì bá wọn lọ. Nígbà tí ó dé, wọ́n mú un lọ sí iyàrá òkè náà, gbogbo àwọn opó sí dúró tì í wọn sọkún, wọ́n sì ń fi ẹ̀wù àti aṣọ tí Dọkasi dá hàn án, nígbà tí ó wà pẹ̀lú wọn.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning [him] to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Ṣùgbọ́n Peteru ti gbogbo wọn sóde, ó sì kúnlẹ̀, ó sí gbàdúrà; ó sì yípadà sí òkú, ó ní “Tabita, dìde.” Ó sì la ojú rẹ̀, nígbà tí ó sì rí Peteru, ó dìde jókòó.
41 And he gave her [his] hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
Ó sì na ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sí i, ó fà á dìde; nígbà tí ó sì pe àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ àti àwọn opó, ó fi lé wọn lọ́wọ́ láààyè.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
Èyí sì di mí mọ̀ já gbogbo Joppa; ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ sì gba Olúwa gbọ́.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
Ó gbé ọjọ́ púpọ̀ ni Joppa ní ọ̀dọ̀ ọkùnrin kan Simoni oníṣọ̀nà-awọ.
