Acts 24
1 And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and [with] a certain orator [named] Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.
௧ஐந்து நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய அனனியா மூப்பர்களோடும் தெர்த்துல்லு என்னும் ஒரு வழக்கறிஞரோடும் கூடப்போனான், அவர்கள் பவுலுக்கு எதிராக தேசாதிபதியினிடத்தில் முறையீடு செய்தார்கள்.
2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse [him], saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
௨அவன் அழைக்கப்பட்டபோது, தெர்த்துல்லு குற்றஞ்சாட்டத்தொடங்கி:
3 We accept [it] always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.
௩கனம்பொருந்திய பேலிக்ஸே, உம்மாலே நாங்கள் மிகுந்த சமாதான சுகத்தை அநுபவிக்கிறதையும், உம்முடைய பராமரிப்பினாலே இந்த தேசத்தினர்களுக்கு சிறந்த நன்மைகள் நடக்கிறதையும் நாங்கள் எப்பொழுதும் எங்கும் மிகுந்த நன்றியறிதலுடனே ஒப்புக்கொள்ளுகிறோம்.
4 Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.
௪உம்மை நான் அதிக சொற்களினாலே வருத்தப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு, நாங்கள் சுருக்கமாகச் சொல்வதை நீர் பொறுமையாகக் கேட்கவேண்டுமென்று வேண்டுகிறேன்.
5 For we have found this man [a] pestilent [fellow], and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
௫என்னவென்றால், இந்த மனிதன் கொள்ளைநோயாகவும், பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்து யூதர்கள் நடுவில் கலகம் எழுப்புகிறவனாகவும், நசரேயருடைய மதகுழப்பத்திற்கு தலைவனாகவும் இருக்கிறானென்று கண்டறிந்தோம்.
6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
௬இவன் தேவாலயத்தையும் தீட்டுப்படுத்தப்பார்த்தான். நாங்கள் இவனைப்பிடித்து எங்களுடைய வேதபிரமாணத்தின்படியே நியாயம் விசாரிக்க விரும்பியிருந்தோம்.
7 But the chief captain Lysias came [upon us], and with great violence took [him] away out of our hands,
௭அப்பொழுது இராணுவ அதிபதி லீசியா வந்து, மிகவும் துணிகரமாக இவனை எங்களுடைய கைகளிலிருந்து இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்,
8 Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.
௮இவன்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துகிறவர்கள் உம்மிடத்தில் வரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டார். இவனிடத்தில் நீர் விசாரித்தால் நாங்கள் இவன்மேல் சுமத்துகிற குற்றங்கள் அனைத்தையும் அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம் என்றான்.
9 And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.
௯யூதர்களும் அதற்கு சம்மதித்து, இவைகள் உண்மைதான் என்றார்கள்.
10 Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
௧0பவுல் பேச தேசாதிபதி அனுமதித்தபோது, அவன் பதிலாக: நீர் அநேக வருடகாலமாக இந்த நாட்டாருக்கு நீதிபதியாக இருக்கிறீர் என்றறிந்து, நான் என் காரியங்களைக்குறித்து அதிக தைரியத்துடன் பதில் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
11 Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
௧௧நான் தொழுதுகொள்ளும்படியாக எருசலேமுக்குப் போனதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் பன்னிரண்டு நாட்கள்மட்டும் ஆனதென்று நீர் அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம்.
12 And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
௧௨தேவாலயத்திலே நான் ஒருவரிடத்திலாவது தர்க்கம் செய்ததையும், நான் ஜெப ஆலயங்களிலாவது பட்டணத்திலாவது மக்களுக்குள்ளே கலகமெழுப்பினதையும், இவர்கள் பார்த்ததில்லை.
13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
௧௩இப்பொழுது என்மேல் சுமத்துகிற குற்றங்களை இவர்கள் உம்மிடத்தில் நிரூபிக்கவும் முடியாது.
14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
௧௪உம்மிடத்தில் ஒன்றை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்; அது என்னவென்றால், இவர்கள் மதபேதம் என்று சொல்லுகிற வழியின்படியே எங்களுடைய முன்னோர்களின் தேவனுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்து நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலேயும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் புத்தகங்களிலேயும் எழுதியிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் நம்பி,
15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
௧௫நீதிமான்களும் அநீதிமான்களுமாகிய மரித்தோர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பது உண்டென்று இவர்கள் தேவனிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறதுபோல, நானும் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and [toward] men.
௧௬இதனால் நான் தேவனுக்கும் மனிதர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக எப்பொழுதும் குற்றமற்ற மனச்சாட்சியை உடையவனாக இருக்க முயற்சிக்கிறேன்.
17 Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.
௧௭பல வருடங்களுக்குப்பின்பு நான் என் மக்களுக்கு நன்கொடைப் பணத்தைக் கொடுக்கவும், காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்தவும் வந்தேன்.
18 Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.
௧௮அப்பொழுது கூட்டமில்லாமலும் ஆர்ப்பாட்டமில்லாமலும் தேவாலயத்திலே சுத்திகரிப்பு செய்துகொண்டவனாக இருந்தபோது, ஆசியா நாட்டாரான சில யூதர்கள் என்னைப் பார்த்தார்கள்.
19 Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.
௧௯அவர்களுக்கு என்பேரில் விரோதமான காரியம் ஏதாவது இருந்தால், அவர்களே இங்கே வந்து, உமக்கு முன்பாகக் குற்றஞ்சுமத்தவேண்டும்.
20 Or else let these same [here] say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
௨0நான் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தினர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றபோது அவர்கள் ஏதாவது அநியாயத்தை என்னிடத்தில் கண்டிருந்தால் இவர்களே அதைச் சொல்லட்டும்.
21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
௨௧நான் அவர்கள் நடுவில் நின்றபோது மரித்தோர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பதைக்குறித்து, இன்று உங்களாலே நியாயந்தீர்க்கப்படுகிறேன் என்று நான் சொன்ன ஒரு சொல்லினிமித்தமேயன்றி வேறொன்றினிமித்தமும் குற்றம் காணப்படவில்லை என்றான்.
22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of [that] way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
௨௨இந்த மார்க்கத்தின் விஷயங்களை தெளிவாக அறிந்திருந்த பேலிக்ஸ் இவைகளைக் கேட்டபொழுது: இராணுவ அதிபதி லீசியா வரும்போது உங்களுடைய காரியங்களைக் கண்டிப்பாய் விசாரிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி;
23 And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let [him] have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.
௨௩பவுலைக் காவலில் வைக்கவும், கண்டிப்பில்லாமல் நடத்தவும், அவனுக்கு சேவைசெய்கிறதற்கும் அவனைக் கவனித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கும் வருகிற அவனுடைய மனிதர்களில் ஒருவரையும் தடைசெய்யாதிருக்கவும் நூறுபேருக்கு அதிபதியானவனுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு, அவர்களைக் காத்திருக்கும்படி செய்தான்.
24 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
௨௪சில நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு பேலிக்ஸ் யூதப் பெண்ணாகிய தன் மனைவி துருசில்லாளுடனே வந்து, பவுலை அழைத்து வரச்செய்து, கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தைக்குறித்து அவன் சொல்லக்கேட்டான்.
25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
௨௫அவன், நீதியையும், இச்சையடக்கத்தையும், இனிவரும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பைக்குறித்துப் பேசும்போது, பேலிக்ஸ் பயமடைந்து: இப்பொழுது நீ போகலாம், எனக்கு நேரம் கிடைக்கும்போது உன்னை வரவழைப்பேன் என்றான்.
26 He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
௨௬மேலும், அவன் பவுலை விடுதலைசெய்யும்படி தனக்கு அவன் பணங்கொடுப்பானென்று நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவனாக இருந்தான்; அதினாலே அவன் அநேகமுறை அவனை அழைத்து, அவனுடனே பேசினான்.
27 But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
௨௭இரண்டு வருடங்கள் சென்றபின்பு பேலிக்ஸ் என்பவனுக்குப் பதிலாக பொர்க்கியுபெஸ்து தேசாதிபதியாக வந்தான்; அப்பொழுது பேலிக்ஸ் யூதர்களுக்கு நன்மைசெய்ய விரும்பி பவுலைக் காவலில் வைத்துவிட்டுப்போனான்.
