2 Timothy 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
しかし、このことは知っておかねばならない。終りの時には、苦難の時代が来る。
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
その時、人々は自分を愛する者、金を愛する者、大言壮語する者、高慢な者、神をそしる者、親に逆らう者、恩を知らぬ者、神聖を汚す者、
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
無情な者、融和しない者、そしる者、無節制な者、粗暴な者、善を好まない者、
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
裏切り者、乱暴者、高言をする者、神よりも快楽を愛する者、
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
信心深い様子をしながらその実を捨てる者となるであろう。こうした人々を避けなさい。
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
彼らの中には、人の家にもぐり込み、そして、さまざまの欲に心を奪われて、多くの罪を積み重ねている愚かな女どもを、とりこにしている者がある。
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
彼女たちは、常に学んではいるが、いつになっても真理の知識に達することができない。
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
ちょうど、ヤンネとヤンブレとがモーセに逆らったように、こうした人々も真理に逆らうのである。彼らは知性の腐った、信仰の失格者である。
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all [men], as theirs also was.
しかし、彼らはそのまま進んでいけるはずがない。彼らの愚かさは、あのふたりの場合と同じように、多くの人に知れて来るであろう。
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
しかしあなたは、わたしの教、歩み、こころざし、信仰、寛容、愛、忍耐、
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of [them] all the Lord delivered me.
それから、わたしがアンテオケ、イコニオム、ルステラで受けた数々の迫害、苦難に、よくも続いてきてくれた。そのひどい迫害にわたしは耐えてきたが、主はそれらいっさいのことから、救い出して下さったのである。
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
いったい、キリスト・イエスにあって信心深く生きようとする者は、みな、迫害を受ける。
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
悪人と詐欺師とは人を惑わし人に惑わされて、悪から悪へと落ちていく。
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];
しかし、あなたは、自分が学んで確信しているところに、いつもとどまっていなさい。あなたは、それをだれから学んだか知っており、
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
また幼い時から、聖書に親しみ、それが、キリスト・イエスに対する信仰によって救に至る知恵を、あなたに与えうる書物であることを知っている。
16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
聖書は、すべて神の霊感を受けて書かれたものであって、人を教え、戒め、正しくし、義に導くのに有益である。
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
それによって、神の人が、あらゆる良いわざに対して十分な準備ができて、完全にととのえられた者になるのである。
