2 Samuel 5
1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we [are] thy bone and thy flesh.
೧ಅನಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಲಗಳವರು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ರಕ್ತಸಂಬಂಧಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ,
2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
೨ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ, ಸೌಲನ ಆಡಳಿತದಲ್ಲಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದಳಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದವನು ನೀನೇ. ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಯೆಹೋವನು, ‘ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನಾಯಕನೂ ಪಾಲಕನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಿಯೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ’” ಅಂದರು.
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.
೩ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೊಡನೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
4 David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, [and] he reigned forty years.
೪ದಾವೀದನು ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವನಾದಾಗ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ, ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
೫ಅವನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಯೆಹೂದ ಕುಲವೊಂದನ್ನೇ ಆಳಿದ್ದು ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳು. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಆಳಿದ್ದು ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳು.
6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
೬ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದೇಶದ ಮೂಲನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟನು. ಅವರು ಇವನು ಒಳಗೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಒಳಗೆ ಬರಲಾರೆ, ಕುರುಡರು ಕುಂಟರು ಇವರೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಟ್ಟಿಬಿಡುವರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same [is] the city of David.
೭ಅದರೂ ದಾವೀದನು ದಾವೀದನಗರ ಎನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಚೀಯೋನಿನ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, [that are] hated of David’s soul, [he shall be chief and captain]. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
೮ಆ ದಿನ ದಾವೀದನು, “ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು, ಜಲದ್ವಾರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹತ್ತಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುವ ಕುರುಡರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂಟರನ್ನು ಕಂದಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ “ಕುರುಡರೂ ಕುಂಟರೂ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಒಳಗೆ ಬರಲಾಗದು” ಎಂಬ ಗಾದೆಯುಂಟು.
9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
೯ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಕೋಟೆಗೆ ದಾವೀದ ನಗರವೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅದರ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಮಿಲ್ಲೋವಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ, ಒಳಗಣ ಪೌಳಿಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು.
10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts [was] with him.
೧೦ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಆಧಿಕ ಪ್ರಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದನು.
11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.
೧೧ತೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೀರಾಮನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನೂ, ದೇವದಾರುಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಬಡಗಿಯವರನ್ನೂ ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲು ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅರಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು.
12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
೧೨ಇದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡನು.
13 And David took [him] more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
೧೩ದಾವೀದನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಿಂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನೇಕ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಪತ್ನಿಯರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
14 And these [be] the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
೧೪ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು: ಶಮ್ಮೂವ, ಶೋಬಾಬ್, ನಾತಾನ್, ಸೊಲೊಮೋನ್,
15 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
೧೫ಇಬ್ಹಾರ್, ಎಲೀಷೂವ, ನೆಫೆಗ್, ಯಾಫೀಯ,
16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
೧೬ಎಲೀಷಾಮ, ಎಲ್ಯಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲೀಫೆಲೆಟ್.
17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard [of it], and went down to the hold.
೧೭ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ದುರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
೧೮ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದೇಶದೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ರೆಫಾಯೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
19 And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
೧೯ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು, “ನಾನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಬಹುದೋ? ಅವರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವಿಯೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಹೋಗು ನಾನು ಹೇಗೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
೨೦ಆಗ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕಟ್ಟೆ ಒಡೆದ ಪ್ರವಾಹದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು, ಅವರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಆ ಯುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ “ಬಾಳ್ ಪೆರಾಚೀಮ್” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
೨೧ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು.
22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
೨೨ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ರೆಫಾಯೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು.
23 And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; [but] fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
೨೩ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಡ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದಂತೆ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ, ಬಾಕಾ ಮರಗಳಿರುವ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳು.
24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
೨೪ಆ ಬಾಕಾ ಮರಗಳ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳ ಸಪ್ಪಳ ಕೇಳಿಸುವಾಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿಮಾಡು” ಎಂದನು.
25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.
೨೫ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಗೆಬದಿಂದ ಗೆಜೆರಿನವರೆಗೂ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು.
