2 Samuel 19
1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
౧రాజు తన కొడుకు గురించి విలపిస్తూ, విచారంగా ఉన్నాడన్న సంగతి ప్రజలందరికీ తెలిసింది. ఆనాటి విజయం ప్రజలందరి దుఃఖానికి కారణమయ్యింది.
2 And the victory that day was [turned] into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
౨యుద్ధ సమయంలో భయపడి పారిపోయిన ప్రజలు దొంగలవలె తిరిగి పట్టణంలో ప్రవేశించారు.
3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.
౩రాజు తన ముఖం కప్పుకుని “అబ్షాలోమా నా బిడ్డా, అబ్షాలోమా నా బిడ్డా” అంటూ కేకలువేస్తూ ఏడుస్తున్నాడని, అబ్షాలోమును గూర్చి విలపిస్తున్నాడన్న విషయం యోవాబు విన్నాడు.
4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!
౪అతడు ఉన్న నగరంలోని భవనానికి వచ్చాడు.
5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;
౫“నీ ప్రాణాన్ని, నీ కొడుకుల, కూతుళ్ళ ప్రాణాలను, నీ భార్యల, నీ ఉపపత్నుల ప్రాణాలను రక్షించిన నీ సేవకులనందరినీ నువ్వు సిగ్గుపరుస్తున్నావు.
6 In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.
౬నీ సన్నిహితులను, అభిమానులను ద్వేషిస్తూ, నీ శత్రువులపై ప్రేమ చూపిస్తున్నావు. ఈనాడు నీ రాజ్య అధిపతులు, సేవకులు నీకు ఇష్టమైనవారు కారని చెబుతున్నావు. మేమంతా చనిపోయి అబ్షాలోము మాత్రం జీవించి ఉన్నట్టయితే అది నీకు సంతోషం కలిగించేది అని నేను గ్రహిస్తున్నాను. వెంటనే లేచి బయటికివచ్చి నీ సేవకులను ధైర్యపరచు.
7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.
౭నువ్వు గనుక ఇప్పుడు బయటికి రాకపోతే ఈ రాత్రి ఒక్కడు కూడా నీ దగ్గర ఉండడని యెహోవా పేరట ఒట్టు పెట్టి చెబుతున్నాను. నీ చిన్నప్పటినుండి ఇప్పటివరకూ నీకు కలిగిన కీడులన్నిటికంటే అది నీకు మరీ కష్టంగా ఉంటుంది” అని రాజుతో చెప్పినప్పుడు రాజు లేచి బయటకు వచ్చి గుమ్మంలో కూర్చున్నాడు.
8 Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.
౮రాజు గుమ్మం దగ్గర కూర్చున్నాడన్న సంగతి ప్రజలంతా విని రాజును దర్శించేందుకు వచ్చారు. ఇశ్రాయేలువారంతా తమ తమ ఇళ్ళకు పారిపోయారు.
9 And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.
౯ఆ సమయంలో ఇశ్రాయేలు గోత్రాలకు చెందిన ప్రజల మధ్య గందరగోళం బయలుదేరింది. వారు “మన శత్రువుల చేతిలో నుండి, ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలో నుండి మనలను విడిపించిన రాజు అబ్షాలోముకు భయపడి దేశం వదలి పారిపోయాడు.
10 And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?
౧౦మనం రాజుగా పట్టాభిషేకం చేసికొన్న అబ్షాలోము యుద్ధంలో చనిపోయాడు. కనుక మనం రాజును తిరిగి ఎందుకు తీసుకు రాకూడదు?” అనుకున్నారు.
11 And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, [even] to his house.
౧౧రాజైన దావీదుకు ఈ సంగతి వినబడింది. యాజకులైన సాదోకు, అబ్యాతారుకులను పిలిపించి “ఇశ్రాయేలు వారంతా మాట్లాడుకొంటున్న విషయం రాజుకు తెలిసింది. రాజును నగరానికి మళ్ళీ తీసుకు వెళ్లేందుకు ఎందుకు ఆలస్యం చేస్తున్నారు?
12 Ye [are] my brethren, ye [are] my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?
౧౨మీరు నాకు రక్త సంబంధులు, సోదరులు. రాజును తీసుకు వచ్చేందుకు మీరెందుకు ఆలస్యం చేస్తున్నారని యూదావారి పెద్దలతో చెప్పండి” అని వారికి ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
13 And say ye to Amasa, [Art] thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.
౧౩తరువాత అమాశా దగ్గరికి మనుషులను పంపి “నువ్వు నా రక్త సంబంధివి, సోదరుడివి కాదా? యోవాబుకు బదులు నిన్ను సైన్యాధిపతిగా ఖాయం చేయకపోతే దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప కీడు కలుగజేస్తాడు గాక” అని చెప్పమన్నాడు.
14 And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as [the heart of] one man; so that they sent [this word] unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.
౧౪అతడు వెళ్లి యూదా వారిలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ ఇష్టపూర్వకంగా రాజుకు లోబడేలా చేశాడు. యూదావారు రాజు దగ్గరికి “నువ్వు, నీ సేవకులంతా తిరిగి రావాలి” అన్న కబురు పంపించారు. రాజు బయలుదేరి యొర్దాను నది దగ్గరికి వచ్చినప్పుడు
15 So the king returned, and came to Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to conduct the king over Jordan.
౧౫యూదావారు రాజును ఎదుర్కొవడానికి, నది ఇవతలకు వెంటబెట్టుకు రావడానికి గిల్గాలుకు వచ్చారు.
16 And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which [was] of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.
౧౬అంతలో బహూరీములో ఉంటున్న బెన్యామీనీయుడైన గెరా కొడుకు షిమీ త్వరత్వరగా రాజైన దావీదును ఎదుర్కొనడానికి యూదావారితో కలసి వచ్చాడు.
17 And [there were] a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king.
౧౭అతనితోపాటు వెయ్యిమంది బెన్యామీనీయులు ఉన్నారు. సౌలు కుటుంబం సేవకుడు సీబా, అతని పదిహేనుమంది కొడుకులు, ఇరవైమంది సేవకులు వచ్చారు.
18 And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king’s household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;
౧౮వారంతా రాజు ఎదురుగా నది దాటారు. రాజు, అతని పరివారం నది దాటడానికి, రాజుకు అనుకూలంగా చేయడానికి పడవను ఇవతలకు తెచ్చి పెట్టారు. రాజు యొర్దాను నది దాటి వెళ్ళగానే గెరా కుమారుడు షిమీ వచ్చి అతనికి సాష్టాంగపడ్డాడు.
19 And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.
౧౯“నా యజమానీ, నేను చేసినదాన్ని బట్టి నాపై నేరం మోపవద్దు. రాజువైన నువ్వు యెరూషలేము విడిచివెళ్తున్నప్పుడు నేను మూర్ఖత్వంతో చేసిన తప్పును జ్ఞాపకం పెట్టుకోవద్దు.
20 For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.
౨౦నేను పాపం చేశానని నాకు తెలుసు. కనుక రాజువైన నిన్ను కలుసుకోవడానికి యోసేపు వంశం వారందరికంటే ముందుగా వచ్చాను” అన్నాడు.
21 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD’s anointed?
౨౧అప్పుడు సెరూయా కుమారుడు అబీషై వచ్చి “యెహోవా అభిషేకించిన రాజును శపించిన ఈ షిమీకి మరణ శిక్ష విధించాలి” అన్నాడు.
22 And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I [am] this day king over Israel?
౨౨దావీదు “సెరూయా కొడుకుల్లారా, మీకూ, నాకూ ఏమి సంబంధం? ఇలాంటి సమయంలో మీరు నాకు విరోధులవుతారా? ఈ రోజు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిలో ఎవరికైనా మరణశిక్ష విధించడం సమంజసమా? ఇప్పుడు నేను ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమీద రాజునయ్యానన్న సంగతి తెలుసుకున్నాను” అన్నాడు. తరువాత
23 Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.
౨౩“నీకు మరణశిక్ష విధించను” అని షిమీకి వాగ్దానం చేశాడు.
24 And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came [again] in peace.
౨౪సౌలు మనవడు మెఫీబోషెతు రాజును కలుసుకోవడానికి వచ్చాడు. రాజు పారిపోయిన రోజునుండి అతడు క్షేమంగా తిరిగి వచ్చేంత వరకూ అతడు కాళ్లు కడుక్కోలేదు, గడ్డం కత్తిరించుకోలేదు, బట్టలు కూడా ఉతుక్కోలేదు.
25 And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth?
౨౫అతడు యెరూషలేములో రాజును కలిసినప్పుడు రాజు “మెఫీబోషెతూ, నీవు నాతో కలసి ఎందుకు రాలేదు?” అని అడిగాడు.
26 And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant [is] lame.
౨౬అప్పుడు అతడు “నా యజమానివైన రాజా, నీ దాసుడినైన నేను కుంటివాణ్ణి కనుక గాడిదను సిద్ధం చేసి రాజుతో కలసి వెళ్లిపోవాలని నేను అనుకున్నప్పుడు నా పనివాడు నన్ను మోసం చేశాడు.
27 And he hath slandered thy servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king [is] as an angel of God: do therefore [what is] good in thine eyes.
౨౭సీబా నా విషయంలో నీకు అబద్ధం చెప్పాడు. నువ్వు నా ఏలినవాడివి, రాజువు. నువ్వు దేవుని దూతవంటి వాడివి. నీకు ఏది మంచి అనిపిస్తే అది చెయ్యి.
28 For all [of] my father’s house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king?
౨౮నా తండ్రి కుటుంబం వారంతా నీ దృష్టిలో చచ్చినవారమై ఉన్నప్పుడు, నువ్వు నీ భోజనం బల్ల దగ్గర నీతో భోజనం చేయడానికి దయ చూపించావు. కాబట్టి రాజవైన నిన్ను వేడుకోవడానికి నాకు వేరే అవసరం ఏముంటుంది?” అన్నాడు.
29 And the king said unto him, Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I have said, Thou and Ziba divide the land.
౨౯అప్పుడు రాజు “నువ్వు ఆ విషయాలు ఎందుకు మాట్లాడుతున్నావు? నువ్వూ, సీబా భూమిని పంచుకొమ్మని నేను ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చాను గదా” అన్నాడు.
30 And Mephibosheth said unto the king, Yea, let him take all, forasmuch as my lord the king is come again in peace unto his own house.
౩౦అందుకు మెఫీబోషెతు “నా ఏలినవాడవైన నువ్వు నీ నగరానికి క్షేమంగా తిరిగి వచ్చావు గనుక అతడు అంతా తీసుకోవచ్చు” అన్నాడు.
31 And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim, and went over Jordan with the king, to conduct him over Jordan.
౩౧గిలాదీయుడైన బర్జిల్లయి రోగెలీము నుండి యొర్దాను అవతల నుండి రాజును సాగనంపడానికి వచ్చాడు.
32 Now Barzillai was a very aged man, [even] fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he [was] a very great man.
౩౨ఇప్పుడు బర్జిల్లయి వయసు 80 ఏళ్ళు. వయసు పైబడి బాగా ముసలివాడైపోయాడు. అతడు అత్యంత ధనవంతుడు. రాజు మహనయీములో ఉన్నప్పుడు అతనికి ఆహార పదార్ధాలు పంపిస్తూ వచ్చాడు.
33 And the king said unto Barzillai, Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem.
౩౩రాజు “నువ్వు నాతోకూడ నది దాటి వచ్చి యెరూషలేములో నాతో కలసి ఉండిపో. నేను నిన్ను పోషిస్తాను” అని బర్జిల్లయితో చెప్పాడు.
34 And Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?
౩౪బర్జిల్లయి “రాజువైన నీతో కలసి యెరూషలేముకు వచ్చి ఉండడానికి ఇంకా నేనెంకాలం బతకగలను?
35 I [am] this day fourscore years old: [and] can I discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?
౩౫ఇప్పటికే నాకు 80 ఏళ్ళు నిండాయి. మంచి చెడ్డలకున్న తేడా నేను కనిపెట్టగలనా? భోజన పదార్ధాల రుచి నేను తెలుసుకో గలనా? గాయకుల, గాయకురాండ్ర పాటలు నాకు వినిపిస్తాయా? నీ దాసుడనైన నేను నీకు భారంగా ఎందుకు ఉండాలి?
36 Thy servant will go a little way over Jordan with the king: and why should the king recompense it me with such a reward?
౩౬రాజువైన నువ్వు నాపట్ల అంతటి మేలు చూపడానికి నేనెంతటివాణ్ణి? నీ దాసుడనైన నేను నీతో కలసి నది దాటి అవతలకు కొంచెం దూరం వస్తాను.
37 Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, [and be buried] by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.
౩౭నేను నా ఊరిలోనే ఉండి, చనిపోయి నా తలిదండ్రుల సమాధిలో పాతిపెట్టబడడానికి అక్కడికి తిరిగి వెళ్ళడానికి నాకు అనుమతి ఇవ్వు. అయ్యా, విను. నీ దాసుడు కింహాము ఇక్కడ ఉన్నాడు. నా ఏలినవాడవు, రాజువు అయిన నీతో కలసి రావడానికి అనుమతి ఇవ్వు. నీకు ఏది మంచి అనిపిస్తే అది అతడిపట్ల చెయ్యి” అని మనవి చేశాడు.
38 And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee: and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, [that] will I do for thee.
౩౮అప్పుడు రాజు “కింహాము నాతో కలసి రావచ్చు. నీ దృష్టికి అనుకూలమైన దాన్ని నేను అతనికి చేస్తాను. ఇంకా నా వల్ల నువ్వు ఏమి కోరుతావో అంతా చేస్తాను” అని చెప్పాడు.
39 And all the people went over Jordan. And when the king was come over, the king kissed Barzillai, and blessed him; and he returned unto his own place.
౩౯అప్పుడు రాజు, ప్రజలందరూ నది అవతలకు వచ్చారు. రాజు బర్జిల్లయిని ముద్దు పెట్టుకుని దీవించాడు. తరువాత బర్జిల్లయి తన స్వస్థలానికి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
40 Then the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the king, and also half the people of Israel.
౪౦రాజు కింహామును వెంటబెట్టుకుని గిల్గాలుకు వచ్చాడు. యూదావారు, ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలో సగంమంది రాజును వెంటబెట్టుకుని వచ్చారు.
41 And, behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said unto the king, Why have our brethren the men of Judah stolen thee away, and have brought the king, and his household, and all David’s men with him, over Jordan?
౪౧ఇలా ఉన్నప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలువారు రాజు దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. “మా సహోదరులైన యూదావారు నిన్ను, నీ ఇంటివారిని దొంగిలించుకుని యొర్దాను ఇవతలకు ఎందుకు తీసుకు వచ్చారు?” అని అడిగారు.
42 And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king [is] near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king’s [cost]? or hath he given us any gift?
౪౨అందుకు యూదా వారు “రాజు మీకు సమీపబంధువు గదా, మీకు కోపం ఎందుకు? అలాగైతే మాలో ఎవరమైనా రాజు ద్వారా లాభం పొందామా? లేక మాకోసం ఏమైనా దొంగతనం చేశామా?” అని ఇశ్రాయేలు వారితో అన్నారు.
43 And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more [right] in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.
౪౩ఇశ్రాయేలువారు “రాజులో మాకు పది వంతులు ఉన్నాయి. దావీదులో మీకంటే మాకే ఎక్కువ హక్కు ఉంది. మీరు మమ్మల్ని ఎందుకు నిర్లక్ష్యం చేస్తున్నారు? రాజును తీసుకువచ్చే విషయం గురించి మీతో ముందుగా మాట్లాడినది మేమే గదా” అని యూదావారితో అన్నారు. యూదావారు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి కంటే కఠినంగా మాట్లాడారు.
