2 Corinthians 8
1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
Também, irmãos, vos fazemos saber a graça de Deus dada às igrejas da Macedônia,
2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
Que em muita provação de aflição, a abundância de sua alegria, e sua profunda pobreza abundaram nas riquezas de sua generosidade.
3 For to [their] power, I bear record, yea, and beyond [their] power [they were] willing of themselves;
Pois dou testemunho de que foram voluntários segundo [sua] capacidade e até além de [sua] capacidade,
4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and [take upon us] the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
Pedindo-nos com muito entusiasmo que aceitássemos a graça e a comunhão deste serviço para os santos.
5 And [this they did], not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
E não [somente fizeram] como nós esperávamos, mas também entregaram a si mesmos, primeiramente ao Senhor, e [depois] a nós, pela vontade de Deus.
6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
De maneira que convocamos a Tito para que, assim como tinha começado antes, assim também terminasse esta graça entre vós.
7 Therefore, as ye abound in every [thing, in] faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and [in] all diligence, and [in] your love to us, [see] that ye abound in this grace also.
Portanto, assim como em tudo abundais: em fé, em palavra, em conhecimento, em todo empenho, e em nosso amor por vós; sede também abundantes nesta graça.
8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
Eu não digo [isto] como que mandando, mas sim para também, por meio do empenho dos outros, provar a sinceridade de vosso amor.
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Porque já conheceis a graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, sendo rico, por causa de vós se fez pobre; para que com a pobreza dele, vós enriquecêsseis.
10 And herein I give [my] advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.
E nisto dou [minha] opinião: porque isto vos convém, não somente a fazer, mas também a querer, dado que começastes desde o ano passado.
11 Now therefore perform the doing [of it]; that as [there was] a readiness to will, so [there may be] a performance also out of that which ye have.
Portanto agora completai também o que já foi começado; para que, assim como houve ânimo no querer, assim também o seja no que tendes de completar.
12 For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, [and] not according to that he hath not.
Porque se existe a boa vontade, [a doação] é aceitável conforme o que se tem, e não conforme o que não se tem.
13 For [I mean] not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
Porque não [digo isto] para que outros tenham alívio, e vós opressão;
14 But by an equality, [that] now at this time your abundance [may be a supply] for their want, that their abundance also may be [a supply] for your want: that there may be equality:
Mas [para que] igualmente, neste tempo presente, vossa abundância seja [para suprir] a falta dos outros, para que também a abundância deles seja [para suprir] vossa falta, para que haja igualdade.
15 As it is written, He that [had gathered] much had nothing over; and he that [had gathered] little had no lack.
Como está escrito: O que muito [colhe], não teve mais; e o que [colhe] pouco, não teve menos.
16 But thanks [be] to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.
Porém graças a Deus, que ele pôs o mesmo empenho por vós no coração de Tito;
17 For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.
Pois aceitou [nosso] chamado, e com muito entusiasmo partiu voluntariamente até vós.
18 And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise [is] in the gospel throughout all the churches;
E enviamos com ele o irmão que é elogiado no Evangelho por todas as igrejas.
19 And not [that] only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and [declaration of] your ready mind:
E não somente [isto], mas também foi escolhido pelas igrejas como companheiro de nossa viagem com esta graça, que é administrada por nós para a glória do mesmo Senhor, e a prontidão de vosso ânimo.
20 Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:
Assim evitamos que ninguém nos critique nesta abundância que é administrada por nós,
21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
Procurando o que é honesto, não somente diante do Senhor, mas também diante das pessoas.
22 And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which [I have] in you.
Também enviamos com eles ao nosso irmão, ao qual muitas vezes em muitas coisas já provamos que ele é cuidadoso, e agora ainda muito mais cuidadoso pela muita confiança que [ele tem] em vós.
23 Whether [any do enquire] of Titus, [he is] my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren [be enquired of, they are] the messengers of the churches, [and] the glory of Christ.
Quanto a Tito, ele é meu companheiro e cooperador para convosco; quanto a nossos irmãos, eles são representantes das igrejas, [e] glória de Cristo.
24 Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
Portanto, mostrai para com eles a prova de vosso amor, e de nosso orgulho por vós, diante das igrejas.
