1 Thessalonians 4
1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort [you] by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, [ so] ye would abound more and more.
೧ಕಡೆಯದಾಗಿ, ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೀರಷ್ಟೆ.
2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
೨ಅದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ಆ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರಂತೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
3 For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
೩ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತವೇನಂದರೆ ನೀವು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೇ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹಾದರಕ್ಕೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
೪ದೇವರನ್ನರಿಯದ ಅನ್ಯಜನರಂತೆ ಕಾಮಾಭಿಲಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗದೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಘನತೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕು.
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

6 That no [man] go beyond and defraud his brother in [any] matter: because that the Lord [is] the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
೬ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ವಂಚಿಸಿ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ನಾವು ಮೊದಲೇ ತಿಳಿಸಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಪ್ರತಿಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
೭ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಶುದ್ಧತೆಗೆ ಕರೆಯದೆ ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದನು.
8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
೮ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮವರವನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸುವ ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
೯ಸಹೋದರ ಸ್ನೇಹದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯಿಲ್ಲ, ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಹೊಂದಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
೧೦ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇನೋ ನಿಜವೇ. ಆದರೂ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
೧೧ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನೀವು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಲೆಹಾಕದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮಗಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ವಂತ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೇ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ಕೈಯಾರೆ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಿ ದುಡಿಯಿರಿ.
12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and [that] ye may have lack of nothing.
೧೨ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀವು ಹೊರಗಿನವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಜ್ಜನರಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕೊರತೆಯಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
೧೩ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಿದ್ರೆಹೋಗುವವರ ಗತಿ ಏನೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದು, ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿರುವ ಇತರರಂತೆ ದುಃಖಿಸಬಾರದು ಎಂಬುದೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಯಕೆ.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
೧೪ಯೇಸು ಸತ್ತು ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದನೆಂದು ನಾವು ನಂಬುತ್ತೇವೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ನಿದ್ರೆಹೋದವರನ್ನು ಸಹ ದೇವರು ಆತನೊಡನೆ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವನೆಂದು ನಂಬಬೇಕಲ್ಲವೇ.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
೧೫ನಾವು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತಿನ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ಕರ್ತನು ಪುನರಾಗಮಿಸುವವರೆಗೆ ಜೀವದಿಂದುಳಿದಿರುವ ನಾವು ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದವರಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂದಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
೧೬ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ತಾನೇ ಆಜ್ಞಾಘೋಷದೊಡನೆಯೂ, ಪ್ರಧಾನದೂತನ ಶಬ್ದದೊಡನೆಯೂ, ದೇವರ ತುತ್ತೂರಿ ಧ್ವನಿಯೊಡನೆಯೂ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದುಬರುವನು. ಆಗ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತವರು ಮೊದಲು ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವರು.
17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
೧೭ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಜೀವದಿಂದುಳಿದಿರುವ ನಾವು ಅಂತರಿಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮೇಘಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಒಯ್ಯಲ್ಪಡುವೆವು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಸದಾಕಾಲವೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವೆವು.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
೧೮ಆದಕಾರಣ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಸಂತೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
