1 Samuel 23
1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.
有人告訴達味說：「看，培肋舍特人在攻打刻依拉，搶劫禾場」。
2 Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
達味就求問上主說：「我是否該去攻打這些培肋舍特人﹖」上主回答達味說：「去攻打培肋舍特人，解救刻依拉! 」
3 And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
隨從達味的人對他說：「看，我們在猶大這裏，已惴惴不安；如果到刻依拉去攻打培肋舍特軍隊，更將如何﹖」
4 Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
達味又求問了上主，上主回答他說：「動身下到刻依拉去，因為已將培肋舍特人交在你手中了! 」
5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
達味就和跟隨他的人到刻依拉，攻打培肋舍特人，奪得了他們的牲口，打得他們慘敗，營救了刻依拉的居民。
6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, [that] he came down [with] an ephod in his hand.
那時阿希默肋客的兒子厄貝雅塔爾逃到達味那裏，也下到了刻依拉，手中拿著「厄弗得」
7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.
有人報告撒烏耳說：「達味到了刻依拉」。撒烏耳便說：「天主真將他交在我手中了，因為他將自己封鎖在一座有門有閂的城裏」。
8 And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
撒烏耳就調集了人民出征，下到刻依拉，要包圍達味和他的部隊。
9 And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.
達味一知道撒烏耳要陷害他，就給厄貝雅塔爾說：「拿「厄弗得」來! 」
10 Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
然後達味說：「上主，以色列的天主! 你僕人聽說撒烏耳正在籌劃到刻依拉來，為了我的緣故，要毀滅這座城。
11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
刻依拉居民會將我交在他們手中嗎﹖撒烏耳是否會像你僕人所聽到的下來﹖請上主，以色列的天主，通知你的僕人! 」上主回答說：「他要下來! 」
12 Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver [thee] up.
達味又問說：「刻依拉的居民，會把我和隨從我的的人，交在撒烏耳手中嗎﹖」上主答說：「他們會把你們交出」。
13 Then David and his men, [which were] about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.
達味就動身率領士兵，約有六百人，離開了刻依拉，到處漂流。有人告訴撒烏耳說：「達味從刻依拉逃走了」。撒烏耳遂停止出動。
14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
達味住在曠野的深山裏，有時住在齊弗曠野的山中。撒烏耳每日找他，天主沒有將達味交在他手中。
15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David [was] in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.
達味很是害怕，因為撒烏耳出來，不斷搜索他，當時達味住在齊弗曠野的曷勒士。
16 And Jonathan Saul’s son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.
撒烏耳的兒子約納堂動身，到了曷勒士，去見達味，他以天主的名鼓勵達味說：
17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.
「不必害怕! 我父撒烏耳的手決拿不住你! 你必要作以色列王，我要在你以下居第二位，連我父撒烏耳也知道這事」。
18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.
他們二人在上主面前訂了盟約。以後達味仍留在曷勒士，約納堂回了家。
19 Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which [is] on the south of Jeshimon?
有些齊弗人上了基貝亞見撒烏耳，說：「達味不是在我們當中，在曷勒士隱藏著嗎﹖
20 Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and our part [shall be] to deliver him into the king’s hand.
大王! 現在你隨意下到我們這裏，我們必將他交在大王手中」。
21 And Saul said, Blessed [be] ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.
撒烏耳答說：「望上主祝福你們，因為你們同情了我。
22 Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, [and] who hath seen him there: for it is told me [that] he dealeth very subtilly.
你們再去查看清楚，看他的腳步急速往哪裏去，因為有人給我說，他非常狡滑。
23 See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
所以你們去觀察清楚，他藏身的一切地方，確定後，回來見我，我必同一起去，只要他在這地方，我必在猶大各鄉村中搜捕他」。
24 And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men [were] in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.
他們就在撒烏耳以先動身往齊弗去了；達味和他的人那時住在瑪紅曠野，即在曠野南方的荒野原中。
25 Saul also and his men went to seek [him]. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard [that], he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
撒烏耳率領士兵去尋找達味。有人將這事告訴了達味，他就下到轟立瑪紅曠野的山崖間；撒烏耳一聽說，便到瑪紅曠野去追趕達味。
26 And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.
撒烏耳帶領士兵走在山這面，達味帶領他的士兵走在山那邊；達味正在急速逃避撒烏耳時，撒烏耳率領著他的士兵追蹤達味和他的士兵，幾乎要把他們捉住，
27 But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.
就在這時，有一個使者來見撒烏耳說：「快回去，因為培肋舍特已侵入邊境! 」
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela-hammahlekoth.
撒烏耳遂立即收兵，不再追趕達味，而去迎擊培肋舍特人；因此，人給那地方起名叫「隔離岩」。
29 And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at En-gedi.
達味為那裏上去，住在恩革狄的山寨中。
