< 1 Peter 3 >

1 Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Iti kastoy a wagas, dakayo nga asawa a babbai ket rumbeng a paiturayankayo kadagiti assawayo, tapno, uray no adda ti saan a natulnog iti sao, mapatulnogda uray awan iti sao babaen iti kababalin dagiti asawada a babbai,
2 While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.
gapu ta makitadanto ti nasin-aw a kagagaladyo nga addaan panagraem iti bagbagida.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Saan koma a maaramid daytoy babaen kadagiti akinruar nga ar-arkos—nasallapid a buok, dagiti alahas a balitok, wenno nagarbo a panagkawkawes.
4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Ngem maaramid koma ketdi daytoy baben iti kaunggan a kinatao ti puso, ken ti saan nga agkupas a pintas iti naemma ken natalna nga espiritu, a napateg iti imatang ti Dios.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Ta kastoy idi ti wagas a panagpapintas dagiti nasantoan a babbai. Adda ti panagtalekda iti Dios ken nagpaiturayanda kadagiti assawada.
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Nagtulnog ni Sara ken ni Abaraham iti kastoy a wagas ken inawaganna isuna nga “apona”. Annaknakayo itan no agaramidkayo iti naimbag ken no saankayo nga agbuteng iti riribuk.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Iti isu met laeng a wagas, dakayo nga assawa a lallaki ket rumbeng nga agbiag kadagiti assawayo nga ammoyo a nakapkapsutda a babbai a katakunaynay, bigbigenyo ida a kas padayo nga umawat iti sagut ti biag. Aramidenyo daytoy tapno saan a malappedan dagiti kararagyo.
8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
Kamauddiananna, agmaymaysakayo amin iti panunot, naasi, agiinnayat a kas agkakabsat, nalukneng a panagpuspuso, ken napakumbaba.
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Saanyo a supapakan ti dakes iti dakes wenno lais iti lais. No di ket, ituloyyo ti mangbendision, ta naawagankayo gapu iti daytoy, tapno matawidyo ti bendission.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
“Ti agtarigagay nga agayat iti biag ken mangkita iti nasayaat nga al-aldaw ket rumbeng nga isardengna ti dilana manipud iti dakes ken dagiti bibigna manipud iti manangallilaw a panagsasao.
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Tallikudanna koma ti dakes ken aramidenna ti nasayaat. Birokenna koma ti kapia ken ikagumaanna daytoy.
12 For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
Kitkitaen dagiti mata ti Apo dagiti nalinteg, ken dengdenggen dagiti lapayagna dagiti kiddawda. Ngem ti rupa ti Apo ket maibusor kadagiti agar-aramid iti dakes.”
13 And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
Siasinonto ti mangdangran kadakayo, no tarigagayanyo ti naimbag?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
Ngem no agsagabakayo gapu iti kinalinteg, nagasatkayo. Saankayo nga agbuteng kadagiti pagbutbutnganda. Saankayo a mariribukan.
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Ngem ketdi, patgenyo ni Apo a Cristo dita pusoyo a kas nasantoan. Kankanayonkayo koma a nakasagana a mangsungbat iti siasinoman nga agsaludsod kadakayo no apay nga adda talekyo iti Dios. Aramidenyo daytoy nga addaan kinaemma ken panagraem.
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Maaddaankayo iti nasayaat a konsensia tapno maibabain dagiti tattao a manglalais kadagiti nasayaat a biagyo kenni Cristo gapu ta agsasaoda a maibusor kadakayo a kasla agar-aramidkayo iti dakes.
17 For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
Nasaysayaat, no pagayatan ti Dios, nga agsagabakayo iti panagar-aramid iti nasayaat ngem iti panagar-aramid iti dakes.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Naminsan a nagsagaba met ni Cristo gapu kadagiti basbasol. Nagsagaba ti nalinteg para kadatayo, a saan a nalinteg, tapno iragpatnatayo iti Dios. Napapatay isuna iti lasag, ngem nagbiag isuna iti espiritu.
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Babaen iti espiritu, napan nangakasaba kadagiti espiritu nga adda ita idiay pagbaludan.
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Saanda a nagtulnog bayat nga agur-uray ti kinaanus ti Dios kadagiti al-aldaw ni Noe, kadagiti al-aldaw nga ar-aramidenna ti daong, ket insalakan ti Dios ti sumagmamano a tattao— walo a kararua—babaen iti danum.
21 The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Daytoy ket simbolo ti bautismo a mangisalakan ita kadakayo, saan a kas iti pannakaugas iti rugit ti bagi, ngem kas panagpakaasi iti nasayaat a nakem iti Dios, babaen iti panagungar ni Jesu-Cristo.
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Adda isuna iti makannawan ti Dios. Napan isuna sadi langit. Masapul a paiturayan kenkuana dagiti anghel, dagiti kinaturay ken dagiti pannakabalin.
