< 1 Peter 3 >

1 Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Chutima chun, nangho ji numei hon napasalteu thuneina chu kisan uvin. Chutengleh, amaho lah a Kipana Thupha joplou aum tah jongleh, thuchenga seilouva na Pathen ngaisahnau navetsah uchun thu aseijoh ding ahi. Amaho nathujona ding uchu,
2 While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.
Nanghon thenna le jana hinkho naman'u amuuva kon hiding ahi.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Polam hoina khohsahnan sampheh a kijep hoi, thil mantam sana khi-o ahilouleh ponsil hoi hoa kijem ding gelkhoh hih un.
4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Nangho sunggila kona hoina, chultheilou lungneng le thip khen cha um, hichea chu nakijep joh dingu ahi, hichu Pathena dinga manlutah ahi.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Hiche hi malai numei theng masa ho amaho tah akijep hoinau chu anahi. Amahon Pathen atahsanun chule ajipateu thuneina chu anakisan u ahi.
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Avetsahnan, Sarah chu ajipa Abraham, thun anungin, chule ajipa chu ka-pakai tin akouve. Najipa teuvin ipi ahinbol dingu kichatna neilou hel'a nanghon thilpha chu naboluva ahileh ama chanute nahiu ahi.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Hitobangma chun, pasal nanghon najinu teu jabolun. Nijinu teu chuto umkhom'a nahiu toh kilhon in hetkhen themna neijin bolun. Ama nangho sanga thalhomjo hitheinante, hinlah Pathen in hinkho thah a hinkho naman khompi dinga napeh-u chu ahi. Nataonau adal louna dingin amaho chu nabolna dingdola chun bolin.
8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
Achainakeiyin, nangho jouse lungkhat kisauvin. Khatle khat kigelkhohto uvin. Sopi hina in kingailu touvin. Lungneng unlang chule kineosah cheh un.
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Setna chu asen lethuh hih un. Mihon najumso tenguleh jumso kitna ding lunggel hih un. Hisang chun phattheiboh jouvin. Hichu Pathen in nabol dinga nakouna chu ahi, chule Aman hiche jal a chu phatthei naboh ding ahi.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Ajehchu, Pathen Thubun asei chu, “Nangman hinkho chu nakipapia, nikho kipa um tampi namu noma ahileh, naleigui chu thilse seinaa konin kihuh tup in, thilpha bolin chule namuh chu jou seina a konin kikangsen.
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Thil phalouva konin kiheimangin, chule thilpha chu bol in.
12 For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
Thildih bolho chu Pakaiyin ntin a avetsui ahi, chule ataonau ngaina in anakol asung jinge. Hinlah Pakai chun thilse bol ho dounaa amai angat jing ahi.”
13 And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
Tun, nanghon thilpha nabol nomuva ahileh koiham nasugim dinguva?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
Thildih boljeh a hahsatna nato tah uva ahijongleh, Pathen in hichea chu nale thuhding ahi. Hijehchun, amaho gihsal jeh chun lung himo ahilouleh kichat bol hih un.
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Chusanga nangman Christa chu nahinkhoa Pakaiya nanei ding hiya ahi. Chule koiham khat'in na-Christian hina anakinepna thudol chu nadoh a ahileh hilchenin.
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Hinlah hiche hi lungneng le jatheiyin bolin. Selepha nahetna chu thengin koiyin. Chua chu mihon nangho douna a thu aseiyuva ahileh amahon Christa a nahijeh uva hinkho phatah naman chu amu tenguleh jahcha dingu ahi.
17 For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
Geldoh in, thilphalou boljeh a gimthoh sanga chu, thilpha bol jeh a gimthoh chu Pathen deilam ahijoi.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Christa chun a-itih a dinga khatvei athohgim ahi. Ama achonse khapoi, hinlah ama Pathen kom a chu bit keicha lhun theina dinga chonseho jeh a thia ahi. Aman tahsa tah a thina ato ahin, hinlah Ama Lhagaova kaithouva uma hingdoh kit ahi.
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Hiti chun, Ama gachea lhagao songkul'a kihenho koma aga seiphong ahitai.
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Amaho hi masanglai peh a Noah chun kong anasui laiya Pathen in thoh hattah'a anga laiya Pathen thua nung louva ahiuve. Hiche tijat umtah twisanglet'a lhah lhumna dinga kona chu mi get bou sohchaa ahiuve.
21 The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Chule hiche twi chu baptize chan vetsahna ahi, hichun tua hi nahuhhingu ahi, tipuma anen pailhahna hilouva, Pathen lama selepha hetna kichehna ding ahi. Yeshua Christa thodoh kit jal a hichun na atoh ahiye.
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Tun Christa chu van'a gachea ahitan, Ama Pathen bantah a jabol channa muna touva ahitai, chule Vantilte le athuneiho chule thaneiho jousen Ama thuneina asangun ahi.
