< 1 Peter 3 >

1 Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Cemyih lawt na, zukhqi, nami vaakhqi ak kaina koep lah uh, cawh ni nami vaakhqi ak khuiawh awi amak cangnaak a awm awhtaw, nangmih zukhqi a khawboe ak caming a mingmih ce awi kqawn kaana noeng na a awm hly,
2 While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.
nangmih a khawboe ak ciimcaih ingkaw kqihchah ak cu khawsaknaak ce hu kawmsaw na noeng hly thai hy.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Nangmih a thangleeknaak ce a ceng benna kaw thoeih ang camnaak na a awm aham am awm hy, Lusam petkhqi, sui ing thoeih ang cam qukhqi, suibai ak leek leekkhqi ing thoeih ang cam qukhqi na a awm ham am awm hy.
4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Ce anglakawhtaw, nak khuiawh ak awm ce ni a leek aham a awm, amak zai thai kawdungnaak ingkaw a cyp a myih na awmnaak, ce ni Khawsa huh awh a phuk tlo na a awm.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Cemyihna ni syn awhkaw nu thlakciimkhqi ing Khawsa awh ngaih-unaak ami taak nawh thlak leek na ami na awm hy. Ami vaakhqi ak kaiawh koep uhy,
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Sarah amyihna, anih ing Abraham ak awi ce ngai nawh boeipa tinawh khy hy. Nangmih awm ik-oeih ak thym ce nami sai nawh kqihnaak am nami taak awhtaw anih a canu na awm uhyk ti.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Cemyih bai lawtna nangmih vaakhqi aw nami zukhqi ak khanawh khaw ak poek thai na awm lah uh, nami zukhqi ce qeennaak hqingnaak kutdo ak pang haih tha amak awm khqoet na ngai unawh kqihchah lah uh, cawh ni na cykcahnaak ak kangkung na ama awm hly.
8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
A hukhit awh, nangmih boeih pynoet ingkaw pynoet qoep ang qui cana awm lah uh; qeennaak ta unawh, cingna tainamyihna lung qu na lah uh, qeen qu unawh taw namik kaw dung sak uh.
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Amak leek ik-oeih ce amak leek ik-oeih lawt ing koeh thung unawh zyihnaak ce zyihnaak ing koeh thung uh, zoseennaak pe law mai uh, kawtih vemyihna awm aham ni anik khy khqi hy, cawh ni zoseennaak nami pang hly.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Ikawtih, U awm hqingnaak ce ak lungnaak nawh khawnghi leek huh ak ngaih ingtaw ik-oeih amak leek awhkawng am lai ce khoem seitaw thainaak awhkawng am kha ce cyp seh.
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Ik-oeih amak leek ce cehta seitaw ik-oeih leek ce sai seh; qoepnaak ce sui seitaw hquut seh.
12 For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
Ikawtih Bawipa amik taw thlak dyng ak khanawh awm nawh ang haa ing cekkhqi ak cykcahnaak awi ce ngai pehy, cehlai ik-oeih amak leek ak saikhqi ce Bawipa ing hawi taak khqi hy,” tihy.
13 And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
Ik-oeih leek sai aham nami ngaih awhtaw u ing nangmih ce nganbawh ani zawk sak hly khqi?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
Ik-oeih thym nami sai dawngawh khuikha qoe bai u tik seiawm, ce ce nangmih aham zoseennaak ni. “A mingmih ing amik kqih ce koeh kqih uh; koeh ly uh.
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Cehlai namik kawlung khuiawh Khrih ce Bawipa na ta uh. Nangmih ing nami taak ngaih-unaak akawng ce thlang ing ani doet khqi awh namik kqawn peek thainaak ham a oepchoeh na awm uh. Cehlai kawdungnaak kqihchahnaak ing kqawn law pe uh,
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
kawpoek ak caih na ta uh, cawh ni Khrih awh nangmih a khawboe leeknaak che na amik kqawnkhqi ce amik chah hly.
17 For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
Khawsa ak kawngaih awhtaw, ik-oeih amak leek sai anglakawh ik-oeih ak leek sai ce nep bet hy.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Ikawtih nangmih ce Khawsa venna ceh pyi ham, thlak dyng am aham thlak dyng, Khrih ing thlang boeih aham hypboet thi hawh hy. Anih ing a pum awh thihnaak ce hu hy, cehlai Myihla ing hqing sai tlaih hy,
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
anih ak caming thawngim ak tla myihlakhqi venawh cet nawh awi kqawn hy.
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Cekkhqi taw syn awh Nova ing lawng a sak awh awi amak ngai Khawsa ing kawsonaak ing a qeh thlangkhqi ni. Cawh thlang a khoehca, a cuna kqeet, doeng ni tui awhkawng hul na a awm.
21 The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Cawhkaw tui cetaw tuh nangmih awm hulnaak na ak awm baptisma huh saknaak na awm hy – pum awhkaw khen a ciimnaak am nawh Khawsa benawh kawpoek caihnaak ingkaw awikamnaak ni. Ce ing Jesu Khrih thawh tlaihnaak ak caming nangmih ce ni hul khqi hy,
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
anih cetaw khan na cet nawh khan ceityihkhqi, sai thainaakkhqi ingkaw boeimangnaakkhqi ing khawsak tang benawh awm hawh hy.
