1 Corinthians 6
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
あなたがたの中には、仲間の者と争いを起こしたとき、それを聖徒たちに訴えないで、あえて、正しくない人たちに訴え出るような人がいるのでしょうか。
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
あなたがたは、聖徒が世界をさばくようになることを知らないのですか。世界があなたがたによってさばかれるはずなのに、あなたがたは、ごく小さな事件さえもさばく力がないのですか。
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
私たちは御使いをもさばくべき者だ、ということを、知らないのですか。それならこの世のことは、言うまでもないではありませんか。
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
それなのに、この世のことで争いが起こると、教会のうちでは無視される人たちを裁判官に選ぶのですか。
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
私はあなたがたをはずかしめるためにこう言っているのです。いったい、あなたがたの中には、兄弟の間の争いを仲裁することのできるような賢い者が、ひとりもいないのですか。
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
それで、兄弟は兄弟を告訴し、しかもそれを不信者の前でするのですか。
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather [suffer yourselves to] be defrauded?
そもそも、互いに訴え合うことが、すでにあなたがたの敗北です。なぜ、むしろ不正をも甘んじて受けないのですか。なぜ、むしろだまされていないのですか。
8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that [your] brethren.
ところが、それどころか、あなたがたは、不正を行なう、だまし取る、しかもそのようなことを兄弟に対してしているのです。
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
あなたがたは、正しくない者は神の国を相続できないことを、知らないのですか。だまされてはいけません。不品行な者、偶像を礼拝する者、姦淫をする者、男娼となる者、男色をする者、
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
盗む者、貪欲な者、酒に酔う者、そしる者、略奪する者はみな、神の国を相続することができません。
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
あなたがたの中のある人たちは以前はそのような者でした。しかし、主イエス・キリストの御名と私たちの神の御霊によって、あなたがたは洗われ、きよい者とされ、義と認められたのです。
12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
すべてのことが私には許されたことです。しかし、すべてが益になるわけではありません。私にはすべてのことが許されています。しかし、私はどんなことにも支配されはしません。
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body [is] not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
食物は腹のためにあり、腹は食物のためにあります。ところが神は、そのどちらをも滅ぼされます。からだは不品行のためにあるのではなく、主のためであり、主はからだのためです。
14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
神は主をよみがえらせましたが、その御力によって私たちをもよみがえらせてくださいます。
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make [them] the members of an harlot? God forbid.
あなたがたのからだはキリストのからだの一部であることを、知らないのですか。キリストのからだを取って遊女のからだとするのですか。そんなことは絶対に許されません。
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
遊女と交われば、一つからだになることを知らないのですか。「ふたりの者は一心同体となる。」と言われているからです。
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
しかし、主と交われば、一つ霊となるのです。
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
不品行を避けなさい。人が犯す罪はすべて、からだの外のものです。しかし、不品行を行なう者は、自分のからだに対して罪を犯すのです。
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
あなたがたのからだは、あなたがたのうちに住まれる、神から受けた聖霊の宮であり、あなたがたは、もはや自分自身のものではないことを、知らないのですか。
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
あなたがたは、代価を払って買い取られたのです。ですから自分のからだをもって、神の栄光を現わしなさい。
