1 Chronicles 25

1 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:

Ainsi David et les chefs de l’armée séparèrent pour le ministère les fils d’Asaph, d’Héman et d’Idithun, afin qu’ils chantassent des prophéties sur des harpes, des psaltérions et des cymbales, s’acquittant, selon leur nombre, de l’emploi à eux assigné.

2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

D’entre les fils d’Asaph, Zachur, Joseph, Nathania et Asaréla, fils d’Asaph, étaient sous la main d’Asaph, qui chantait des prophéties à côté du roi.

3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.

Pour Idithun, les fils d’Idithun étaient Godolias, Sori, Jéséias, Hasabias, Mathathias, six sous la main de leur père, Idithun, qui chantait des prophéties sur la harpe à la tête de ceux qui glorifiaient et louaient le Seigneur.

4 Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, [and] Mahazioth:

Quant à Héman, les fils d’Héman étaient Bocciaü, Mathaniaü, Oziel, Subuel, Jérimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, Romemthiézer, Jesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth.

5 All these [were] the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

Tous ceux-là étaient fils d’Héman, le Voyant du roi dans les paroles de Dieu, pour exalter sa puissance: et Dieu donna à Héman quatorze fils et trois filles.

6 All these [were] under the hands of their father for song [in] the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

Tous avaient été distribués sous la main de leur père, c’est-à-dire d’Asaph, d’Idithun et d’Héman, pour chanter dans le temple du Seigneur, sur des cymbales, des psaltérions et des harpes, et pour remplir les ministères de la maison du Seigneur, à côté du roi.

7 So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, [even] all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

Or le nombre de ceux-ci, avec leurs frères, qui, tous habiles, enseignaient les cantiques du Seigneur, était de deux cent quatre-vingt-huit.

8 And they cast lots, ward against [ward], as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

Et ils jetèrent les sorts pour leurs classes sans distinction, tant le grand que le petit, le savant de même que celui qui manquait de savoir.

9 Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons [were] twelve:

Le premier sort donc sortit pour Joseph, issu d’Asaph; le second, pour Godolias, tant pour lui que pour ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

10 The third to Zaccur, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le troisième, pour Zachur, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

11 The fourth to Izri, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le quatrième, pour Isari, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

12 The fifth to Nethaniah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le cinquième, pour Nathanias, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

13 The sixth to Bukkiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le sixième, pour Bocciaü, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze:

14 The seventh to Jesharelah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le septième, pour Isrééla, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

15 The eighth to Jeshaiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le huitième, pour Jésaïa, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

16 The ninth to Mattaniah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le neuvième, pour Mathanias, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

17 The tenth to Shimei, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le dixième, pour Séméias, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

18 The eleventh to Azareel, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le onzième, pour Azaréel, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

19 The twelfth to Hashabiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le douzième, pour Hasabias, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

20 The thirteenth to Shubael, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le treizième, pour Subaël, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

21 The fourteenth to Mattithiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le quatorzième, pour Mathathias, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

22 The fifteenth to Jeremoth, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le quinzième, pour Jérimoth, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

23 The sixteenth to Hananiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le seizième, pour Hananias, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

24 The seventeenth to Joshbekashah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le dix-septième, pour Jesbacassa, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

25 The eighteenth to Hanani, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le dix-huitième, pour Hanani, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

26 The nineteenth to Mallothi, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le dix-neuvième, pour Mellothi, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

27 The twentieth to Eliathah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le vingtième, pour Eliatha, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

28 The one and twentieth to Hothir, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le vingt et unième, pour Othir, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

29 The two and twentieth to Giddalti, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le vingt-deuxième, pour Geddelthi, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

30 The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:

Le vingt-troisième, pour Mahazioth, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

31 The four and twentieth to Romamti-ezer, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve.

Le vingt-quatrième, pour Romemthiézer, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze.
