1 Chronicles 23
1 So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
१आता दावीद म्हातारा झाला होता आणि त्याच्या आयुष्याच्या शेवटच्या दिवसात होता, तेव्हा त्याने आपला पुत्र शलमोन याला इस्राएलाचा राजा केले.
2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
२त्याने इस्राएलमधील सर्व पुढारी मंडळी, याजक आणि लेवी यांना एकत्र बोलावून घेतले.
3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
३तीस आणि त्याहून अधिक वय असलेल्या लेवींची त्याने गणना केली. त्यांची संख्या एकंदर अडतीस हजार होती.
4 Of which, twenty and four thousand [were] to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand [were] officers and judges:
४त्यांच्यातले, चोवीस हजार लेवी परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या कामावर देखरेख करणारे होते आणि सहा हजार अधिकारी आणि न्यायाधीश होते.
5 Moreover four thousand [were] porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise [therewith].
५चार हजार द्वारपाल होते आणि दावीद म्हणाला, मी जी वाद्ये आराधना करायला करवून घेतली त्याच्या साथीने परमेश्वराची स्तुती करणारे चार हजार होते.
6 And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, [namely], Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
६लेवीचे पुत्र गेर्षोन, कहाथ आणि मरारी यांच्या घराण्यानुसार दावीदाने सर्व लेवींची तीन गटांमध्ये विभागणी केली.
7 Of the Gershonites [were], Laadan, and Shimei.
७गेर्षोन घराण्यात लादान आणि शिमी हे दोघे होते.
8 The sons of Laadan; the chief [was] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
८लादान याला तीन पुत्र. यहीएल हा थोरला. नंतर जेथाम व योएल.
9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These [were] the chief of the fathers of Laadan.
९शिमीचे पुत्र असे शलोमोथ, हजिएल व हारान. लादानच्या घराण्यांचे हे प्रमुख होते.
10 And the sons of Shimei [were], Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four [were] the sons of Shimei.
१०शिमीला चार पुत्र. यहथ, जीजा, यऊश आणि बरीया.
11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to [their] father’s house.
११यहथ हा त्यांपैकी मोठा, दुसरा जीजा, यऊश आणि बरीया यांना मात्र फार संतती नव्हती त्यामुळे त्यांचे दोघांचे मिळून एकच घराणे धरले जाई.
12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
१२कहाथाला चार पुत्र होते: अम्राम, इसहार, हेब्रोन आणि उज्जियेल.
13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
१३अहरोन आणि मोशे हे अम्रामचे पुत्र अहरोन आणि त्याच्या वंशजाची खास कामाकरता निवड केली गेली होती. परमेश्वराच्या उपासनेच्या पवित्र कामाच्या तयारीसाठी त्यांना कायमचे वेगळे काढले गेले होते. परमेश्वरापुढे धूप जाळणे, परमेश्वराचे याजक म्हणून सेवा करणे, लोकांस आशीर्वाद देणे अशी त्यांची कामे होती.
14 Now [concerning] Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
१४मोशे हा देवाचा संदेष्टा होता. त्याचे पुत्र लेवीच्या वंशातच गणले जात.
15 The sons of Moses [were], Gershom, and Eliezer.
१५गेर्षोम आणि अलियेजर हे मोशेचे पुत्र.
16 Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel [was] the chief.
१६शबुएल हा गेर्षोमचा थोरला पुत्र.
17 And the sons of Eliezer [were], Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had none other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
१७रहब्या हा अलियेजरचा थोरला पुत्र. हा एकुलता एक होता. रहब्याला मात्र बरीच अपत्य झाली.
18 Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
१८शलोमीथ हा इसहारचा पहिला पुत्र.
19 Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
१९हेब्रोनचे पुत्र याप्रमाणे: यरीया मोठा, अमऱ्या दुसरा, यहजिएल तिसरा, यकमाम चौथा.
20 Of the sons of Uzziel; Michah the first, and Jesiah the second.
२०उज्जियेलाचे पुत्र: पहिला मीखा आणि नंतरचा इश्शिया.
21 The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.
२१महली आणि मूशी हे मरारीचे पुत्र. एलाजार आणि कीश हे महलीचे पुत्र.
22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
२२एलाजाराला कन्या रत्नेच झाली. त्यास पुत्र नव्हता. या कन्यांचे विवाह नात्यातच झाले. त्या लग्न होऊन कीशाच्या घराण्यात गेल्या.
23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
२३मूशीचे पुत्र: महली, एदर आणि यरेमोथ.
24 These [were] the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; [even] the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
२४हे झाले लेवीचे वंशज आपापल्या घराण्यांप्रमाणे त्यांची मोजणी झाली. ते घराण्यांचे प्रमुख होते. त्यांच्यापैकी प्रत्येकाच्या नावाची नोंद झालेली आहे. जे वीस किंवा त्याहून अधिक वयाचे होते त्यांनी परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात सेवा करणे हे त्यांचे काम.
25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:
२५दावीद म्हणाला, “इस्राएलाचा देव परमेश्वर याच्यामुळे लोकांस शांती लाभली आहे. परमेश्वर यरूशलेमेला कायमच्या वास्तव्यासाठी आला आहे.
26 And also unto the Levites; they shall no [more] carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.
२६तेव्हा लेवींना निवासमंडप आणि उपासनेतील सेवेचे इतर पात्रे सतत वाहण्याची गरज पडणारहि नाही.”
27 For by the last words of David the Levites [were] numbered from twenty years old and above:
२७लेवी कुळातील वंशजांची मोजदाद करणे ही दावीदाची इस्राएल लोकांस अखेरची आज्ञा होती. त्यानुसार वीस वर्षे आणि त्यापुढील वयाच्या मनुष्यांची मोजणी झाली.
28 Because their office [was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
२८अहरोनाच्या वंशजांना परमेश्वराच्या मंदीरातील सेवेत मदत करणे हे लेवीचे काम होते. मंदिराचे आवार आणि बाजूच्या खोल्या यांची देखभाल ही त्यांच्याकडे होती. मंदिरातील सर्व पवित्र गोष्टी शुध्द ठेवणे ही त्यांची जबाबदारी होती. देवाच्या मंदिरातील हे काम ते करत असत.
29 Both for the shewbread, and for the fine flour for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [that which is baked in] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;
२९मंदिरातील समर्पित भाकर मेजावर ठेवणे, पीठ, अन्नार्पण करण्याच्या वस्तू बेखमीर भाकरी यावर त्यांची देखरेख होती. याखेरीज, तव्यावर भाजलेले, मळलेले सर्वकाही सिध्द करणे, मोजून मापून त्या वस्तूंची तयारी करणे हे ही काम त्यांच्याकडे होते.
30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;
३०ते रोज सकाळ संध्याकाळ परमेश्वराचे आभार मानायला आणि त्याची स्तुती करायला उभे राहत.
31 And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
३१आणि परमेश्वरास शब्बाथ दिवशी, चंद्रदर्शनाच्या आणि नेमलेल्या सणाच्या दिवशी ठरलेल्या संख्येप्रमाणे नेहमी परमेश्वरापुढे सर्व होमार्पणे अर्पण करण्यास हजर राहत.
32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy [place], and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
३२ते दर्शनमंडप, पवित्रस्थानाचे प्रमुख होते. आणि त्यांचे सहकारी अहरोनाचे वंशज यांना ते परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या सेवेत मदत करत होते.
