< Titus 1 >

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
Sithaw ih tamna, Kri Jesu mah patoeh ih kami, Sithaw mah qoih ih kaminawk loe tanghaih tawnh moe, Sithaw hoi loktang to panoek han oh;
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (aiōnios g166)
lok amlai thai ai, dungzan kahing oephaih, Sithaw loe long om ai na hoiah lokkamhaih to sak boeh; (aiōnios g166)
3 But has in due times manifested his word (logos) through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
toe atue phak naah loe lok taphonghaih rang hoiah Anih ih lok to amtueng boeh, to lok loe aicae pahlongkung Sithaw ih lokpaekhaih baktih toengah kai Pawl khaeah ang paek boeh,
4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
tanghaih bangah ka capa, Titu khaeah, Ampa Sithaw, aicae pahlongkung Jesu Kri khae hoi ih tahmenhaih, amlunghaih hoi monghaih to om nasoe.
5 For this cause left I you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed you:
Sak han ka ngaih hmuennawk to sak moe, avang kruekah kacoehtanawk qoih han ih ni Crete prae ah kang caehtaak.
6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
To baktih toksak han koeh kami loe coek koi om ai kami, zu maeto tawn kami, anih ih caanawk loe tuinuen set o, lok tahngai o ai, tiah kaminawk mah thuihsawk ih kami hoi oep kaom ai kami ah oh o han om ai.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, not an attacker, not given to filthy illegal gain;
Kricaabu zaehoikung loe Sithaw ih toksah kami ah oh baktih toengah, coek koi om ai kami ah oh han angaih; angmah taham poek ai kami, poek amthueng ai kami, mu nae ai kami, angzoeh koeh ai kami, kaciim ai loklam hoiah hak ih phoisa koeh hmoek ai kami;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
angvin khenzawn thaih kami, kami kahoih hoiah angkom koeh kami, poek angsum thaih kami, poektoeng kami, kaciim ah khosah kami, nongpa nongpata zaesakhaih angsum thaih kami ah oh han angaih,
9 Holding fast the faithful word (logos) as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
angmah amtuk ih oep kathok loknawk to kacakah angdoe haih kami, katoeng patukhaih lok hoiah lok angaek koeh kaminawk ih palungthin to pazawk moe, thapaek thaih kami ah oh han angaih.
10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Lok tahngai ai, atho kaom ai lokthui kaminawk hoi aling kop kaminawk oh o mangh, lokpui koekah tangzat hin aat kaminawk thungah pop o aep:
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy illegal gain's sake.
nihcae ih pakha to tamuep pae han angaih, nihcae loe kaciim ai loklam hoiah hak ih phoisa to koeh o pongah, patuk koi ai hmuennawk to patuk o moe, imthung takoh boih amro o sak.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, sluggards.
Angmacae thung ih kami maeto ah kaom, angmacae ih tahmaa maeto mah loe, Crete kaminawk loe lok amlai kami, moi kasan palungthin tawn kami, caaknaek amoeh kami ah oh o, tiah thuih.
13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Hae tiah thuih ih lok loe amsoem. Nihcae mah katoeng tanghaih pazui o thai hanah, nihcae to kahoih ah thuitaek ah;
14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
loktang angqoi taak, Judahnawk ih ruicinawk hoi kami mah thuih rumram ih loknawk to tahngai pae hmah.
15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Kaciim kami hanah loe hmuennawk boih ciim: toe kaciim ai kami, katang ai kaminawk hanah loe tidoeh ciim ai; a poek o haih hoi kasae kahoih panoekhaih palung doeh ciim ai.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Nihcae loe Sithaw panoek kami baktiah angsak o; toe a sak o ih tok mah Anih panoek kami na ai ni, tiah amtuengsak, nihcae loe panuet thok kami, lok tahngai ai kami, hoihhaih hmuen maeto doeh sah thai ai kami ah ni oh o.
