Song of Solomon 3
1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I found him not.
[Ela]: Durante as noites busquei em minha cama a quem minha alma ama; busquei-o, mas não o achei.
2 I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I found him not.
Por isso me levantarei, e percorrerei a cidade, pelas ruas e pelas praças; buscarei a quem minha alma ama; busquei-o, mas não o achei.
3 The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw all of you him whom my soul loves?
Os guardas que rondavam pela cidade me encontraram. [Eu lhes perguntei]: Vistes a quem minha alma ama?
4 It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loves: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
Pouco [depois] de me afastar deles, logo achei a quem minha alma ama. Eu o segurei, e não o deixei ir embora, até eu ter lhe trazido à casa de minha mãe, ao cômodo daquela que me gerou.
5 I charge you, O all of you daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that all of you stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
Eu vos ordeno, filhas de Jerusalém: jurai pelas corças e pelas cervas do campo que não acordeis nem desperteis ao amor, até que ele queira.
6 Who is this that comes out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
Quem é esta, que sobe do deserto como colunas de fumaça, perfumada com mirra, incenso, e com todo tipo de pó aromático de mercador?
7 Behold his bed, which is Solomon's; threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel.
Eis a cama móvel de Salomão! Sessenta guerreiros estão ao redor dela, dentre os guerreiros de Israel;
8 They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man has his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
Todos eles portando espadas, habilidosos na guerra; cada um com sua espada à cintura, para [o caso de haver] um ataque repentino de noite.
9 King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
O rei Salomão fez para si uma liteira de madeira do Líbano.
10 He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
Suas colunas ele fez de prata, seu assoalho de ouro, seu assento de púrpura; por dentro coberta com [a obra do] amor das filhas de Jerusalém.
11 Go forth, O all of you daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
Saí, ó filhas de Sião, e contemplai ao rei Salomão, com a coroa a qual sua mãe o coroou, no dia de seu casamento, no dia da alegria do seu coração.
