Psalms 8

1 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! who have set your glory above the heavens.

Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Jehova, o Wee Mwathani witũ, kaĩ rĩĩtwa rĩaku nĩ inene gũkũ thĩ yothe-ĩ! Nĩũigĩte riiri waku o igũrũ matu-inĩ.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and infants have you ordained strength because of your enemies, that you might still the enemy and the avenger.

Nĩũtũmĩte rũgooco ruume tũnua-inĩ twa ciana na twa ngenge, nĩ tondũ wa thũ ciaku, nĩguo ũkirie ũrĩa ũrĩ muku nawe o na mwĩrĩhĩria.

3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

Rĩrĩa ndecũũrania ũhoro ũkoniĩ igũrũ rĩu rĩaku, ngoona wĩra wa ciara ciaku, mweri na njata icio wĩkĩrĩte kuo-rĩ,

4 What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him?

mũndũ akĩrĩ kĩ tondũ ũikaraga ũkĩmwĩciiragia, nake mũrũ wa mũndũ akĩrĩ kĩ atĩ nĩkĩo ũmũmenyagĩrĩra?

5 For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honour.

Watũmire atigie o hanini aiganane nawe, na ũkĩmũhumba thũmbĩ ya riiri o na gĩtĩĩo.

6 You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet:

Wamũtuire wa gwathaga mawĩra ma moko maku; ũkĩiga indo ciothe rungu rwa makinya make:

7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

ndũũru ciothe cia mbũri na cia ngʼombe, na nyamũ cia gĩthaka,

8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.

na nyoni cia rĩera-inĩ, na thamaki cia iria-inĩ, na kĩrĩa gĩothe kĩgeragĩra kũu iria-inĩ thĩinĩ.

9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!
