Psalms 44
1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.
Al Vencedor: a los hijos de Coré: Masquil. Oh Dios, con nuestros oídos hemos oído, nuestros padres nos han contado la obra que hiciste en sus tiempos, en los tiempos antiguos.
2 How you did drive out the heathen with your hand, and planted them; how you did afflict the people, and cast them out.
Tú con tu mano echaste los gentiles, y los plantaste a ellos; afligiste los pueblos, y los arrojaste.
3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your countenance, because you had a favour unto them.
Porque no heredaron la tierra por su espada, ni su brazo los libró; sino tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro, porque te complaciste en ellos.
4 You are my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
Tú, oh Dios, eres mi rey: Manda saludes a Jacob.
5 Through you will we push down our enemies: through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
Por medio de ti acornearemos a nuestros enemigos; en tu Nombre atropellaremos a nuestros adversarios.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
Porque no confiaré en mi arco, ni mi espada me salvará.
7 But you have saved us from our enemies, and have put them to shame that hated us.
Porque tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos, y has avergonzado a los que nos aborrecían.
8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise your name for ever. (Selah)
En Dios nos alabamos todo el tiempo, y para siempre loaremos tu Nombre. (Selah)
9 But you have cast off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies.
Pero nos has desechado, y nos has hecho avergonzar; y no sales en nuestros ejércitos.
10 You make us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
Nos hiciste retroceder del enemigo, y nos saquearon para sí los que nos aborrecieron.
11 You have given us like sheep appointed for food; and have scattered us among the heathen.
Nos pusiste como a ovejas para comida, y nos esparciste entre los gentiles.
12 You sell your people for nothing, and do not increase your wealth by their price.
Has vendido tu pueblo de balde, y sin precio.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
Nos pusiste por vergüenza a nuestros vecinos, por escarnio y por burla a los que nos rodean.
14 You make us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
Nos pusiste por proverbio entre los gentiles, por movimiento de cabeza en los pueblos.
15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,
Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí, y me cubre la confusión de mi rostro,
16 For the voice of him that reproaches and blasphemes; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
por la voz del que me blasfema y deshonra, por la voz del enemigo y del que se venga.
17 All this has come upon us; yet have we not forgotten you, neither have we dealt falsely in your covenant.
Todo esto nos ha venido, y no nos hemos olvidado de ti; y no hemos faltado a tu pacto.
18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from your way;
No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón, ni tampoco se han apartado nuestros pasos de tus caminos.
19 Though you have sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
Cuando nos quebrantaste en el lugar de los dragones, y nos cubriste con sombra de muerte,
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
si nos hubiésemos olvidado del Nombre de nuestro Dios, o alzado nuestras manos a dios ajeno,
21 Shall not God search this out? for he knows the secrets of the heart.
¿No demandaría Dios esto? Porque él conoce los secretos del corazón.
22 Yea, for your sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
Antes por tu causa nos matan cada día; somos tenidos como ovejas para el degolladero.
23 Awake, why sleep you, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
Despierta; ¿por qué duermes, Señor? Despierta, no nos deseches para siempre.
24 Wherefore hide you your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
¿Por qué escondes tu rostro? ¿Olvidaste nuestra aflicción, y la opresión nuestra?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaves unto the earth.
Porque nuestra alma se ha agobiado hasta el polvo; nuestro vientre está pegado con la tierra.
26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for your mercies' sake.
Levántate para ayudarnos, y redímenos por tu misericordia.
