1 The king shall joy in your strength, O LORD; and in your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. The king rejoices in your strength, LORD! How greatly he rejoices in your salvation!

You have given him his heart’s desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. (Selah)
3 For you prevent him with the blessings of goodness: you set a crown of pure gold on his head.
For you meet him with the blessings of goodness. You set a crown of fine gold on his head.
4 He asked life of you, and you gave it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
He asked life of you and you gave it to him, even length of days forever and ever.
5 His glory is great in your salvation: honour and majesty have you laid upon him.
His glory is great in your salvation. You lay honour and majesty on him.
6 For you have made him most blessed for ever: you have made him exceeding glad with your countenance.
For you make him most blessed forever. You make him glad with joy in your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
For the king trusts in the LORD. Through the loving kindness of the Most High, he shall not be moved.
8 your hand shall find out all of your enemies: your right hand shall find out those that hate you.
Your hand will find out all of your enemies. Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath. The fire shall devour them.
10 Their fruit shall you destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from amongst the children of men.
11 For they intended evil against you: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
For they intended evil against you. They plotted evil against you which cannot succeed.
12 Therefore shall you make them turn their back, when you shall make ready your arrows upon your strings against the face of them.
For you will make them turn their back, when you aim drawn bows at their face.
13 Be you exalted, LORD, in your own strength: so will we sing and praise your power.
Be exalted, LORD, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.
