Psalms 147
1 Praise all of you the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
Louez l’Éternel! Car il est beau de célébrer notre Dieu, Car il est doux, il est bienséant de le louer.
2 The LORD does build up Jerusalem: he gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
L’Éternel rebâtit Jérusalem, Il rassemble les exilés d’Israël;
3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
Il guérit ceux qui ont le cœur brisé, Et il panse leurs blessures.
4 He tells the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names.
Il compte le nombre des étoiles, Il leur donne à toutes des noms.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
Notre Seigneur est grand, puissant par sa force, Son intelligence n’a point de limite.
6 The LORD lifts up the meek: he casts the wicked down to the ground.
L’Éternel soutient les malheureux, Il abaisse les méchants jusqu’à terre.
7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Chantez à l’Éternel avec actions de grâces, Célébrez notre Dieu avec la harpe!
8 Who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.
Il couvre les cieux de nuages, Il prépare la pluie pour la terre; Il fait germer l’herbe sur les montagnes.
9 He gives to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
Il donne la nourriture au bétail, Aux petits du corbeau quand ils crient,
10 He delights not in the strength of the horse: he takes not pleasure in the legs of a man.
Ce n’est pas dans la vigueur du cheval qu’il se complaît, Ce n’est pas dans les jambes de l’homme qu’il met son plaisir;
11 The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
L’Éternel aime ceux qui le craignent, Ceux qui espèrent en sa bonté.
12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion.
Jérusalem, célèbre l’Éternel! Sion, loue ton Dieu!
13 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has blessed your children within you.
Car il affermit les barres de tes portes, Il bénit tes fils au milieu de toi;
14 He makes peace in your borders, and fills you with the finest of the wheat.
Il rend la paix à ton territoire, Il te rassasie du meilleur froment.
15 He sends forth his commandment upon earth: his word runs very swiftly.
Il envoie ses ordres sur la terre: Sa parole court avec vitesse.
16 He gives snow like wool: he scatters the hoarfrost like ashes.
Il donne la neige comme de la laine, Il répand la gelée blanche comme de la cendre;
17 He casts forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
Il lance sa glace par morceaux; Qui peut résister devant son froid?
18 He sends out his word, and melts them: he causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
Il envoie sa parole, et il les fond; Il fait souffler son vent, et les eaux coulent.
19 He shows his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
Il révèle sa parole à Jacob, Ses lois et ses ordonnances à Israël;
20 He has not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise all of you the LORD.
Il n’a pas agi de même pour toutes les nations, Et elles ne connaissent point ses ordonnances. Louez l’Éternel!
