Psalms 120

1 In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

שיר המעלות אל-יהוה בצרתה לי-- קראתי ויענני

2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

יהוה--הצילה נפשי משפת-שקר מלשון רמיה

3 What shall be given unto you? or what shall be done unto you, you false tongue?

מה-יתן לך ומה-יסיף לך-- לשון רמיה

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

חצי גבור שנונים עם גחלי רתמים

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

אויה-לי כי-גרתי משך שכנתי עם-אהלי קדר

6 My soul has long dwelt with him that hates peace.

רבת שכנה-לה נפשי-- עם שונא שלום

7 I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

אני-שלום וכי אדבר המה למלחמה
