Psalms 116
1 I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my supplications.
J'aime l'Éternel, parce qu'il a entendu Ma voix et mes supplications.
2 Because he has inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
Il a incliné son oreille vers moi; Aussi l'invoquerai-je tous les jours de ma vie.
3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell got hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)
Les liens de la mort m'avaient enveloppé. Les angoisses du Sépulcre m'avaient saisi; J'étais étreint par la souffrance et la douleur. (Sheol h7585)
4 Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I plead to you, deliver my soul.
Alors j'invoquai le nom de l'Éternel: «Éternel, délivre mon âme!»
5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
L'Éternel est miséricordieux et juste; Notre Dieu est plein de compassion.
6 The LORD perserves the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
L'Éternel garde les humbles: J'étais misérable, et il m'a sauvé.
7 Return unto your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
Retrouve, ô mon âme, ta sérénité; Car l'Éternel t'a fait du bien.
8 For you have delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
Oui, tu as préservé mon âme de la mort, Mes yeux, des pleurs, Et mes pieds de, toute chute.
9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
Je marcherai devant la face de l'Éternel, Sur la terre des vivants.
10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
J'ai cru, c'est pourquoi j'ai parlé! J'ai été extrêmement affligé;
11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
Je disais dans mon trouble: «Tout homme est menteur!»
12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
Que rendrai-je à l'Éternel? Tous ses bienfaits sont sur moi!
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
Je lèverai la coupe d'actions de grâces, Et j'invoquerai le nom de l'Éternel.
14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
Je m'acquitterai de mes voeux envers l'Éternel, En présence de tout son peuple.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
Elle a du prix aux yeux de l'Éternel, La vie de ses bien-aimés.
16 O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, and the son of your handmaid: you have loosed my bonds.
Écoute, ô Éternel; car je suis ton serviteur, Ton serviteur, fils de ta servante. Tu as dénoué mes liens.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
Je t'offrirai le sacrifice d'actions de grâces, Et j'invoquerai le nom de l'Éternel.
18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
Je m'acquitterai de mes voeux envers l'Éternel, En présence de tout son peuple,
19 In the courts of the LORD's house, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise all of you the LORD.
Dans les parvis de la maison de l'Éternel, Au milieu de toi, ô Jérusalem! Louez l'Éternel!
