Proverbs 1
1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
Proverbios de Salomão, filho de David, rei d'Israel;
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
Para se conhecer a sabedoria e a instrucção; para se entenderem as palavras da prudencia;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
Para se receber a instrucção do entendimento, a justiça, o juizo, e a equidade;
4 To give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
Para dar aos simplice prudencia, e aos moços conhecimento e bom siso;
5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
Para o sabio ouvir e crescer em doutrina, e o entendido adquirir sabios conselhos;
6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
Para entender proverbios e a sua declaração: como tambem as palavras dos sabios, e as suas adivinhações.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
O temor do Senhor é o principio da sciencia: os loucos desprezam a sabedoria e a instrucção.
8 My son, hear the instruction of your father, and forsake not the law of your mother:
Filho meu, ouve a instrucção de teu pae, e não deixes a doutrina de tua mãe.
9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto your head, and chains about your neck.
Porque diadema de graça serão para a tua cabeça, e colares para o teu pescoço.
10 My son, if sinners entice you, consent you not.
Filho meu, se os peccadores te attrahirem com afagos, não consintas.
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privately for the innocent without cause:
Se disserem: Vem comnosco; espiemos o sangue; espreitemos o innocente sem razão;
12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: (Sheol h7585)
Traguemol-os vivos, como a sepultura; e inteiros, como os que descem á cova; (Sheol h7585)
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
Acharemos toda a sorte de fazenda preciosa; encheremos as nossas casas de despojos;
14 Cast in your lot among us; let us all have one purse:
Lança a tua sorte entre nós; teremos todos uma só bolsa.
15 My son, walk not you in the way with them; refrain your foot from their path:
Filho meu, não te ponhas a caminho com elles: desvia o pé das suas veredas;
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
Porque os seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam a derramar sangue.
17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
Na verdade debalde se estende a rede perante os olhos de toda a sorte d'aves.
18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privately for their own lives.
E estes armam ciladas contra o seu proprio sangue; e as suas proprias vidas espreitam.
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of the owners thereof.
Assim são as veredas de todo aquelle que usa d'avareza: ella prenderá a alma de seus amos.
20 Wisdom cries without; she utters her voice in the streets:
A suprema sabedoria altamente clama de fóra: pelas ruas levanta a sua voz.
21 She cries in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she utters her words, saying,
Nas encruzilhadas, em que ha tumultos, clama: ás entradas das portas, na cidade profere as suas palavras.
22 How long, all of you simple ones, will all of you love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Até quando, ó simplices, amareis a simplicidade? e vós, escarnecedores, desejareis o escarneo? e vós, loucos, aborrecereis o conhecimento?
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Tornae-vos á minha reprehensão: eis que abundantemente vos derramarei de meu espirito e vos farei saber as minhas palavras.
24 Because I have called, and all of you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
Porquanto clamei, e vós recusastes; estendi a minha mão, e não houve quem désse attenção;
25 But all of you have set at nothing all my counsel, and refused my reproof:
Mas rejeitastes todo o meu conselho, e não quizestes a minha reprehensão.
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes;
Tambem eu me rirei na vossa perdição, e zombarei, vindo o vosso temor;
27 When your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish comes upon you.
Vindo como a assolação o vosso temor, e vindo a vossa perdição como uma tormenta, sobrevindo-vos aperto e angustia.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
Então a mim clamarão, porém eu não responderei; de madrugada me buscarão, porém não me acharão.
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Porquanto aborreceram o conhecimento; e não elegeram o temor do Senhor;
30 They refused my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Não consentiram ao meu conselho e desprezaram toda a minha reprehensão.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
Assim que comerão do fructo do seu caminho, e fartar-se-hão dos seus proprios conselhos.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
Porque o desvio dos simplices os matará, e a prosperidade dos loucos os destruirá.
33 But whoso hearkens unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Porém o que me der ouvidos habitará seguramente, e estará descançado do temor do mal
