Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you.
Hijo mío, guarda mis palabras Y atesora mis mandamientos dentro de ti.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.
Guarda mis mandamientos y vive, Y mi enseñanza como la niña de tu ojo.
3 Bind them upon your fingers, write them upon the table of your heart.
Átalos a tus dedos. Escríbelos en la tabla de tu corazón.
4 Say unto wisdom, You are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman:
Dí a la sabiduría: Tú eres mi hermana. Llama al entendimiento [tu] íntimo amigo,
5 That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words.
Para que te guarden de la mujer ajena, De la seductora [que] lisonjea con sus palabras.
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
Pues cuando desde la ventana de mi casa Observaba entre las celosías,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
Vi entre los ingenuos. Observé entre los jóvenes A un joven falto de entendimiento
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
Que pasaba por la calle cerca de la esquina de ella. Caminaba en dirección a la casa de ella
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
Al anochecer, cuando ya oscurecía, En medio de la noche y la oscuridad.
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart.
Y ahí estaba una mujer que [salía] a encontrarlo, Astuta de corazón, vestida de prostituta,
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
Bullanguera y desenfrenada. Sus pies no pueden permanecer en casa,
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.)
Unas veces en las calles, otras en las plazas, Acecha en todas las esquinas.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an shameless face said unto him,
Lo agarró y lo besó, Y descaradamente le dijo:
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows.
Prometí sacrificios de paz. Hoy pagué mis votos.
15 Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you.
Por tanto salí a encontrarte, A buscar diligentemente tu rostro, y te hallé.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
Preparé mi cama con colchas. La tendí con lino de Egipto.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Perfumé mi cama con mirra, áloes, y canela.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
Ven, deleitémonos con caricias hasta el alba. Embriaguémonos de amores,
19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
Porque mi esposo no está en casa. Emprendió un largo viaje.
20 He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
Llevó consigo una bolsa de dinero. El día de luna nueva volverá a su casa.
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
Lo rindió con la mucha suavidad de sus palabras. Lo sedujo con sus labios lisonjeros.
22 He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
Súbitamente se fue tras ella, Como el buey al matadero, Como un venado que se enredó en la trampa,
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastes to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.
Como ave que se lanza contra la red, Sin saber que le costará la vida, Hasta que una flecha le traspasa el hígado.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O all of you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Ahora pues, hijos, escúchenme. Presten atención a las palabras de mi boca:
25 Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
No dejes que tu corazón se aparte a los caminos de ella, Ni te extravíes por sus sendas.
26 For she has cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
Porque ella dejó muchos heridos, Y aun los más fuertes fueron asesinados por ella.
