Proverbs 6
1 My son, if you be guarantor for your friend, if you have stricken your hand with a stranger,
೧ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ನೆರೆಯವನ ಸಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಪರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ,
2 You are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth.
೨ನೀನು ಮಾತುಕೊಟ್ಟು ಪಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀ, ನಿನ್ನ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ.
3 Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, when you are come into the hand of your friend; go, humble yourself, and make sure your friend.
೩ಹೀಗಿರಲು, ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ನೆರೆಯವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಒಂದು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡು, ನಡೆ, ತ್ವರೆಪಡು, ಆ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಅಂಗಲಾಚಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೋ,
4 Give not sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.
೪ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆಕೊಡಬೇಡ, ನಿನ್ನ ರೆಪ್ಪೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಬೇಡ;
5 Deliver yourself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
೫ಬೇಟೆಗಾರನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಜಿಂಕೆಯು ಓಡುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಪಕ್ಷಿಯು ಹಾರಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೋ.
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
೬ಸೋಮಾರಿಯೇ, ಇರುವೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅದರ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೋ.
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಯಕ, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ,
8 Provides her food in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.
೮ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ತೀನಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದು, ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
9 How long will you sleep, O sluggard? when will you arise out of your sleep?
೯ಸೋಮಾರಿಯೇ, ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿದ್ರೆ? ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾವಾಗ ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳ್ಳುವಿ?
10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
೧೦“ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನಿದ್ದೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ತೂಕಡಿಕೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂಚ ನಿದ್ದೆಗಾಗಿ ಕೈಮುದುರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ” ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಯಾ?
11 So shall your poverty come as one that travels, and your lack as an armed man.
೧೧ಬಡತನವು ದಾರಿಗಳ್ಳನ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೊರತೆಯು ಪಂಜುಗಳ್ಳನಂತೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುವವು.
12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth.
೧೨ನೀಚನೂ, ದುಷ್ಟನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡು, ಅವನು ವಕ್ರ ಮಾತಿನವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,
13 He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his fingers;
೧೩ಕಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಮಿಟಕಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಕೆರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಬೆರಳ ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
14 Perverseness is in his heart, he devises mischief continually; he sows discord.
೧೪ಅವನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ದ್ರೋಹವೇ; ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಜಗಳದ ಬೀಜವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುತ್ತಾನೆ.
15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
೧೫ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಟ್ಟನೆ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದು, ಏಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಮುರಿಯಲ್ಪಡುವನು.
16 These six things does the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
೧೬ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಆರು ಇವೆ, ಹೌದು, ಏಳು ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿ ತೋರುತ್ತವೆ.
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
೧೭ಅವು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ, ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕಣ್ಣು, ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ನಾಲಿಗೆ, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವ ಕೈ,
18 An heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
೧೮ದುರಾಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ಹೃದಯ, ಕೇಡುಮಾಡಲು ತ್ವರೆಪಡುವ ಕಾಲು,
19 A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.
೧೯ಅಸತ್ಯವಾಡುವ ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಒಡಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗಳಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುವವನು ಇವುಗಳೇ.
20 My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not the law of your mother:
೨೦ಕಂದಾ, ತಂದೆಯ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳು, ತಾಯಿಯ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಡ.
21 Bind them continually upon your heart, and tie them about your neck.
೨೧ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸದಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೋ.
22 When you go, it shall lead you; when you sleep, it shall keep you; and when you awake, it shall talk with you.
೨೨ನೀನು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ಆ ಉಪದೇಶವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವುದು, ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವುದು, ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಂಡಾಗ ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು.
23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
೨೩ಆಜ್ಞೆಯೇ ದೀಪ, ಉಪದೇಶವೇ ಬೆಳಕು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಪೂರ್ವಕವಾದ ಬೋಧನೆಯೇ ಜೀವದ ಮಾರ್ಗ.
24 To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
೨೪ಅದು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಿಂದಲೂ, ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯ ಸಿಹಿನುಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
25 Lust not after her beauty in your heart; neither let her take you with her eyelids.
೨೫ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವಳ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮೋಹಿಸದಿರಲಿ, ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುರೆಪ್ಪೆಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ವಶಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಳು, ನೋಡಿಕೋ.
26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.
೨೬ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾವನಿಗಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗತಿಯಾಗುವುದು, ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೋ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಬೇಟೆಯಾಡುವಳು.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
೨೭ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಸುಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
೨೮ಧಗಧಗಿಸುವ ಕೆಂಡದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದರೆ ಕಾಲು ಬೇಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
29 So he that goes in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever touches her shall not be innocent.
೨೯ನೆರೆಯವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೋಗುವವನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಆಗುವುದು, ಯಾರು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವನೋ ಅವನು ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೇ ಇರನು.
30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
೩೦ಕಳ್ಳನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಸಿವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಗಿಸಲು ಕಳವು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಹೀಯಾಳಿಸರು.
31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
೩೧ಅವನ ತಪ್ಪು ಬಯಲಾದರೆ ಅವನು ಏಳರಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು, ಅಥವಾ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ತೀರಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು.
32 But whoso commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: he that does it destroys his own soul.
೩೨ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಯೋ ಕೇವಲ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು, ಇಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
೩೩ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗಾಯವೂ, ಅವಮಾನವೂ ಆಗುವವು, ಅವನ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹೆಸರು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಳಿಸಲ್ಪಡದು.
34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
೩೪ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮತ್ಸರವು ಪತಿಗೆ ಕ್ರೋಧವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಅವನು ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸತಕ್ಕ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸನು.
35 He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
೩೫ಅವನು ಯಾವ ಈಡನ್ನೂ ಮುಟ್ಟನು; ಎಷ್ಟು ಲಂಚಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಒಪ್ಪನು.
