Proverbs 30
1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spoke unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
੧ਯਾਕਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਗੂਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਈਥੀਏਲ, ਹਾਂ ਈਥੀਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਕਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ,
2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.
੨ਸੱਚੀਂ ਮੁੱਚੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
੩ਮੈਂ ਬੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ।
4 Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if you can tell?
੪ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਚੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਰਿਆ? ਕਿਹ ਨੇ ਪੌਣ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੁੱਠੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੇਟਿਆ? ਕਿਹ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਨਿਆ? ਕਿਹ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਨੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ? ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ? ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਦੱਸ!
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
੫ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਬਚਨ ਤਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਢਾਲ਼ ਹੈ।
6 Add you not unto his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
੬ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਵਧਾ, ਕਿਤੇ ਐਉਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਭਈ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਂ।
7 Two things have I required of you; deny me them not before I die:
੭ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਵਰ ਮੰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕਰੀਂ।
8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
੮ਮਿੱਥਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਨਾ ਧਨ ਦੇ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੋਜ਼ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖਿਲਾ,
9 Lest I be full, and deny you, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
੯ਕਿਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਰੱਜ ਪੁੱਜ ਕੇ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਾਂ “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?” ਅਥਵਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਥੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਕਰਾਂਵਾਂ।
10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse you, and you be found guilty.
੧੦ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਕਿਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰੇਂ।
11 There is a generation that curses their father, and does not bless their mother.
੧੧ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ।
12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
੧੨ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਲੀਤੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਈ।
13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
੧੩ਅਜਿਹੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਵੀ ਹੈ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕਿਹੀ ਘਮੰਡ ਭਰੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਲਕਾਂ ਕੇਹੀਆਂ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ!
14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
੧੪ਅਜਿਹੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੰਦ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਾੜਾਂ ਛੁਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਭਈ ਓਹ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖਾ ਜਾਣ।
15 The horseleach has two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
੧੫ਜੋਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਦੇ, ਦੇ ਆਖਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਤਿੰਨ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਦੀ ਰੱਜਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਦੀ ਬਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਦੀਆਂ,
16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that says not, It is enough. (Sheol h7585)
੧੬ਪਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਂਝ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖ, ਧਰਤੀ ਜੋ ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਜੋ ਕਦੀ “ਬਸ” ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਦੀ। (Sheol h7585)
17 The eye that mocks at his father, and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
੧੭ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅੱਖ ਪਿਉ ਦਾ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਉਡਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਦ-ਖੋਦ ਕੱਢਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਗਿਰਝਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
18 There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
੧੮ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਲੀਆਂ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਹਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ,
19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
੧੯ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਕਾਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ, ਚੱਟਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਚਾਲ।
20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, I have done no wickedness.
੨੦ਵਿਭਚਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਚਾਲ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਪੂੰਝ ਲੈਂਦੀ, ਤੇ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
21 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:
੨੧ਤਿੰਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਕੰਬਦੀ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ,
22 For a servant when he reigns; and a fool when he is filled with food;
੨੨ਦਾਸ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇ, ਮੂਰਖ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ,
23 For an abhorrent woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
੨੩ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀ ਔਰਤ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਵਿਆਹੀ ਜਾਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਲਕਣ ਦੀ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਬਣੇ।
24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:
੨੪ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer;
੨੫ਕੀੜੀਆਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਤਾਂ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਨਾਜ਼ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
੨੬ਪਹਾੜੀ ਬਿੱਜੂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਚਟਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
੨੭ਟਿੱਡੀ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਓਹ ਸੱਭੇ ਦਲ ਬੰਨ ਕੇ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
28 The spider takes hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.
੨੮ਕਿਰਲੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:
੨੯ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੋਰ ਠਾਠ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਲ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਹੈ,
30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turns not away for any;
੩੦ਇੱਕ ਤਾਂ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪਿੱਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਆਉਂਦਾ,
31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.
੩੧ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਕੁੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਕਰਾ, ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਜਦ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
32 If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, lay your hand upon your mouth.
੩੨ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੂਰਖਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੁਰਾ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖ,
33 Surely the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood: so the forcing of wrath brings forth strife.
੩੩ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਦੁੱਧ ਰਿੜਕਣ ਨਾਲ ਮੱਖਣ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨੱਕ ਮਰੋੜਨ ਨਾਲ ਲਹੂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭੜਕਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
