Proverbs 14
1 Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.
౧జ్ఞానం ఉన్న స్త్రీ తన ఇంటిని చక్కబెట్టుకుంటుంది. మూర్ఖురాలు చేతులారా తన కాపురం నాశనం చేసుకుంటుంది.
2 He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despises him.
౨యెహోవాపట్ల భయం, భక్తి ఉన్నవాడు నిజాయితీగా మసులుకుంటాడు. కపటంగా ప్రవర్తించే వాడు ఆయనను తిరస్కరిస్తాడు.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
౩మూర్ఖుల నోటిలో గర్వం అనే బెత్తం ఉన్నది. జ్ఞానం గలవారి నోటి నుంచి వచ్చే మాటలు వారిని కాపాడతాయి.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
౪ఎద్దులు లేకపోతే కొట్లలో ధాన్యం ఉండదు. ఎద్దులు బలంగా ఉంటే అధిక రాబడి వస్తుంది.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
౫నమ్మకమైన సాక్షి అబద్ధం పలకడు. కపట సాక్షికి అబద్ధాలు చెప్పడమే ఇష్టం.
6 A scorner seeks wisdom, and finds it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understands.
౬బుద్ధిహీనుడు జ్ఞానం కోసం వెదికినా అది దొరకదు. తెలివిగలవాడు తేలికగా జ్ఞానం పొందుతాడు.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge.
౭బుద్ధిహీనుడి దగ్గర మంచి మాటలు ఏమీ దొరకవు కనుక వాడితో స్నేహం చేయవద్దు.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
౮వివేకం ఉన్నవారు తమ ప్రవర్తన విషయంలో జ్ఞానం కలిగి జాగ్రత్తగా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు. బుద్ధి లేనివారు తమ మూర్ఖత్వంతో మోసపూరిత కార్యాలు జరిగిస్తారు.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
౯మూర్ఖులు చేసే అపరాధ పరిహార బలి వారిని ఎగతాళి చేస్తుంది. యథార్థవంతులు ఒకరిపట్ల ఒకరు దయ కలిగి ఉంటారు.
10 The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy.
౧౦ఎవడి హృదయంలో ఉండే దుఃఖం వాడికే తెలుస్తుంది. ఒకడి సంతోషంలో బయటి వ్యక్తి పాలు పొందలేడు.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
౧౧దుర్మార్గుడి ఇల్లు నాశనం అవుతుంది. యథార్థవంతుల గుడారం స్థిరంగా నిలుస్తుంది.
12 There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
౧౨ఒకడు తనకు నచ్చినదే సరియైనదిగా భావిస్తాడు. అయితే చివరికి అది నాశనానికి నడిపిస్తుంది.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that delight is heaviness.
౧౩ఒకడు బయటికి నవ్వుతో ఉన్నప్పటికీ హృదయంలో దుఃఖం ఉండవచ్చు. సంతోషం చివరికి శోకంగా మారిపోవచ్చు.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
౧౪భక్తిహీనుడి మార్గాలు చివరికి వాడికే వెగటు కలుగుతాయి. మంచి వ్యక్తి తన ప్రవర్తన పట్ల సంతృప్తి చెందుతాడు.
15 The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.
౧౫తెలివితక్కువవాడు ప్రతి విషయాన్నీ నమ్ముతాడు. వివేకం గలవాడు తన ప్రవర్తన విషయంలో జాగ్రత్త వహిస్తాడు.
16 A wise man fears, and departs from evil: but the fool rages, and is confident.
౧౬జ్ఞానం ఉన్నవాడు కీడుకు భయపడి దాని నుంచి దూరంగా వెళ్తాడు. మూర్ఖుడు అహంకారంతో భయం లేకుండా తిరుగుతాడు.
17 He that is soon angry deals foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
౧౭తొందరగా కోపం తెచ్చుకునేవాడు తన మూర్ఖత్వం ప్రదర్శిస్తాడు. చెడు ఆలోచనలు చేసేవాడు ద్వేషానికి గురౌతాడు.
18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
౧౮బుద్ధిహీనులు తమ మూర్ఖత్వమే ఆస్తిగా కలిగి ఉంటారు. వివేకం ఉన్నవారు జ్ఞానాన్ని కిరీటంగా ధరించుకుంటారు.
19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
౧౯చెడ్డవారు మంచివారి ఎదుట, భక్తిహీనులు నీతిమంతుల గుమ్మాల ఎదుట నిలబడతారు.
20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich has many friends.
౨౦దరిద్రుణ్ణి వాడి పొరుగువాడే అసహ్యించుకుంటాడు. ధనవంతుణ్ణి ప్రేమించే వాళ్ళు చాలామంది.
21 He that despises his neighbour sins: but he that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
౨౧పేదవారిని ఆదరించేవాడు ధన్యజీవి. తన పొరుగువాణ్ణి తిరస్కరించేవాడు పాపం చేసినట్టే.
22 Do they not go astray that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
౨౨కీడు తలపెట్టేవారు కూలిపోతారు. మేలు చేసే వారికి దయ, సత్యం ప్రాప్తిస్తాయి.
23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tends only to destitution.
౨౩కష్టంతో కూడిన ఏ పని చేసినా ఫలితం దక్కుతుంది. వ్యర్ధమైన మాటలు దరిద్రానికి నడుపుతాయి.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
౨౪ఐశ్వర్యం జ్ఞానులకు కిరీటం వంటిది. బుద్ధిహీనుల మూర్ఖత్వం వారికి మరింత మూర్ఖత్వం తెచ్చిపెడుతుంది.
25 A true witness delivers souls: but a deceitful witness speaks lies.
౨౫నిజాలు పలికే సాక్షి మనుషులను కాపాడతాడు. అబద్ధాలు చెప్పేవాడు కేవలం మోసగాడు.
26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
౨౬యెహోవాపట్ల భయం, భక్తి కలిగి ఉన్నవారు ఎంతో ధైర్యంగా ఉంటారు. వారి సంతానానికి ఆశ్రయం దొరుకుతుంది.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
౨౭యెహోవా పట్ల భయభక్తులు జీవం కలిగించే ఊట. దాని మూలంగా వారు మరణం ఉచ్చుల్లో నుండి తప్పించు కుంటారు.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
౨౮జనాభా పెరుగుదల రాజులకు ఘనత కలిగిస్తుంది. ప్రజల క్షీణత రాజుల పతనానికి కారణం.
29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.
౨౯వివేకం గలవాడు త్వరగా కోపం తెచ్చుకోడు. ముక్కోపికి మూర్ఖత్వమే బహుమతిగా దక్కుతుంది.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
౩౦సాత్వికమైన మనస్సు శరీరానికి జీవం పెంచుతుంది. అసూయ ఎముకలు కుళ్ళిపోయేలా చేస్తుంది.
31 He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker: but he that honors him has mercy on the poor.
౩౧దరిద్రుణ్ణి కష్టపెట్టేవాడు వాడి సృష్టికర్త అయిన దేవుణ్ణి దూషించినట్టే. పేదవారిని ఆదరించేవాడు దేవుణ్ణి ఘనపరుస్తున్నాడు.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.
౩౨కీడు కలిగినప్పుడు తమ చెడ్డ పనుల వల్ల భక్తిహీనులు నశిస్తారు. నీతిమంతునికి సత్య సమయంలో కూడా ఆశ్రయం దొరుకుతుంది.
33 Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
౩౩తెలివిగలవాడి హృదయంలో జ్ఞానం సుఖంగా నివసిస్తుంది. బుద్ధిహీనులు తమ మనసులో ఉన్నది తొందరగా బయటపెతారు.
34 Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
౩౪ప్రజలు ఘనత పొందడానికి వారి న్యాయవర్తన కారణం అవుతుంది. అపరాధ ప్రవర్తన ప్రజలను అవమానాల పాలు చేస్తుంది.
35 The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame.
౩౫తెలివి గల సేవకుడు రాజుల అభిమానం చూరగొంటాడు. అవమానం కలిగించే సేవకుడి పై రాజు కోప పడతాడు.
