Numbers 23
1 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.
௧பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “நீர் இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் இங்கே எனக்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்தும்” என்றான்.
2 And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.
௨பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடியே பாலாக் செய்தான்; பாலாகும் பிலேயாமும் ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டார்கள்.
3 And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: possibly the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to an high place.
௩பின்பு பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகில் நில்லும், நான் போய்வருகிறேன்; யெகோவா வந்து என்னைச் சந்திப்பதாக இருக்கும்; அவர் எனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துவதை உமக்கு அறிவிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி, ஒரு மேட்டின்மேல் ஏறினான்.
4 And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.
௪தேவன் பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: “நான் ஏழு பலிபீடங்களை ஆயத்தம்செய்து, ஒவ்வொரு பலிபீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டேன்” என்றான்.
5 And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus you shall speak.
௫யெகோவா பிலேயாமின் வாயிலே வாக்கு அருளி: “நீ பாலாகினிடத்தில் திரும்பிப் போய், இந்த விதமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
6 And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.
௬அவனிடம் அவன் திரும்பிப்போனான்; பாலாக் மோவாபுடைய எல்லா பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூட தன்னுடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்.
7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
௭அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: “மோவாபின் ராஜாவாகிய பாலாக் என்னைக் கிழக்கு மலைகளிலுள்ள ஆராமிலிருந்து வரவழைத்து: நீ வந்து எனக்காக யாக்கோபைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும்; நீ வந்து இஸ்ரவேலை வெறுத்துவிடவேண்டும்” என்று சொன்னான்.
8 How shall I curse, whom God has not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD has not defied?
௮தேவன் சபிக்காதவனை நான் சபிப்பதெப்படி? யெகோவா வெறுக்காதவனை நான் வெறுப்பதெப்படி?
9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
௯உயரமான மலையிலிருந்து நான் அவனைக் கண்டு, குன்றுகளிலிருந்து அவனைப் பார்க்கிறேன்; அந்த மக்கள் தேசத்தோடு கலக்காமல் தனியே வாழ்வார்கள்.
10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
௧0“யாக்கோபின் தூளை எண்ணத்தக்கவன் யார்? இஸ்ரவேலின் காற்பங்கை எண்ணுகிறவன் யார்? நீதிமான் மரிப்பதுபோல் நான் மரிப்பேனாக, என்னுடைய முடிவு அவனுடைய முடிவுபோல் இருப்பதாக” என்றான்.
11 And Balak said unto Balaam, What have you done unto me? I took you to curse mine enemies, and, behold, you have blessed them altogether.
௧௧அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: “நீர் எனக்கு என்ன செய்தீர்; என்னுடைய எதிரிகளைச் சபிக்கும்படி உம்மை அழைத்து வந்தேன்; நீர் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்தீர்” என்றான்.
12 And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD has put in my mouth?
௧௨அதற்கு அவன்: “யெகோவா என்னுடைய வாயில் அருளினதையே சொல்வது என்னுடைய கடமையல்லவா” என்றான்.
13 And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray you, with me unto another place, from whence you may see them: you shall see but the utmost part of them, and shall not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
௧௩பின்பு பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: “நீர் அவர்களைப் பார்க்கத்தக்க வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு என்னோடுகூட வாரும்; அங்கே அவர்கள் எல்லோரையும் பாரக்காமல், அவர்களுடைய கடைசி முகாமை மட்டும் பார்ப்பீர்; அங்கேயிருந்து எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும்” என்று சொல்லி,
14 And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
௧௪அவனைப் பிஸ்காவின் உச்சியில் இருக்கிற சோப்பீமின் வெளியிலே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.
15 And he said unto Balak, Stand here by your burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.
௧௫அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “இங்கே உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகில் நில்லும்; நான் அங்கே போய்க் யெகோவாவைச் சந்தித்துவருகிறேன்” என்றான்.
16 And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.
௧௬யெகோவா பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்து, அவனுடைய வாயிலே வசனத்தை அருளி; “நீ பாலாகினிடம் திரும்பிப்போய், இந்த விதமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
17 And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What has the LORD spoken?
௧௭அவனிடத்திற்கு அவன் வருகிறபோது, அவன் மோவாபின் பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூடத் தன்னுடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்; பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: “யெகோவா என்ன சொன்னார்” என்று கேட்டான்.
18 And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, you son of Zippor:
௧௮அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: “பாலாகே, எழுந்திருந்து கேளும்; சிப்போரின் மகனே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடும்.
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
௧௯பொய் சொல்ல தேவன் ஒரு மனிதன் அல்ல; மனம்மாற அவர் ஒரு மனுபுத்திரனும் அல்ல; அவர் சொல்லியும் செய்யாமல் இருப்பாரா? அவர் வாக்களித்தும் நிறைவேற்றாமல் இருப்பாரா?
20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he has blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
௨0இதோ, ஆசீர்வதிக்கக் கட்டளை பெற்றேன்; அவர் ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார், அதை நான் திருப்பக்கூடாது.
21 He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
௨௧அவர் யாக்கோபிலே அக்கிரமத்தைக் காண்கிறதும் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலிலே குற்றம் பார்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அவர்களோடு இருக்கிறார்; ராஜாவின் வெற்றியின் கெம்பீரம் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறது.
22 God brought them out of Egypt; he has as it were the strength of an unicorn (ox).
௨௨தேவன் அவர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தார்; காண்டாமிருகத்திற்கு இணையான பெலன் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு.
23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What has God wrought!
௨௩யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமான மந்திரவாதம் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமான குறிசொல்லுதலும் இல்லை; தேவன் என்னென்ன செய்தார் என்று கொஞ்சக்காலத்திலே யாக்கோபையும் இஸ்ரவேலையும் குறித்துச் சொல்லப்படும்.
24 Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
௨௪அந்த மக்கள் கொடிய சிங்கம்போல எழும்பும், இளம்சிங்கம்போல நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கும்; அது தான் பிடித்த இரையைச் சாப்பிட்டு, வெட்டுண்டவர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்கும்வரை படுத்துக்கொள்வதில்லை” என்றான்.
25 And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
௨௫அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: “நீர் அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவும் வேண்டாம், அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும் வேண்டாம்” என்றான்.
26 But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I you, saying, All that the LORD speaks, that I must do?
௨௬அதற்குப் பிலேயாம் பாலாகைப் பார்த்து: “யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறபடியெல்லாம் செய்வேன் என்று உம்மோடு நான் சொல்லவில்லையா” என்றான்.
27 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray you, I will bring you unto another place; possibly it will please God that you may curse me them from thence.
௨௭அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: “வாரும், வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு உம்மை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகிறேன்; நீர் அங்கே இருந்தாவது எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கிறது தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாக இருக்கும்” என்று சொல்லி,
28 And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looks toward Jeshimon.
௨௮அவனை எஷிமோனுக்கு எதிராக இருக்கிற பேயோரின் உச்சிக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.
29 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
௨௯அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் ஆயத்தம்செய்யும்” என்றான்.
30 And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
௩0பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடி பாலாக் செய்து, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.
