Numbers 11
1 And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
E aconteceu que o povo se queixou aos ouvidos do SENHOR: e ouviu-o o SENHOR, e ardeu seu furor, e acendeu-se neles fogo do SENHOR e consumiu a extremidade do acampamento.
2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.
Então o povo clamou a Moisés, e Moisés orou ao SENHOR, e o fogo se apagou.
3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.
E chamou a aquele lugar Taberá; porque o fogo do SENHOR se acendeu neles.
4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
E o povo misturado que havia no meio deles teve um intenso desejo; então os filhos de Israel voltaram-se, choraram, e disseram: Quem nos dera comer carne!
5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
Nós nos lembramos do peixe que comíamos no Egito de graça, dos pepinos, dos melões, dos alhos-porós, das cebolas, e dos alhos;
6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
mas agora a nossa alma se seca; nada há, a não ser maná, [diante dos] nossos olhos.
7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.
O maná era como semente de coentro, e sua cor como cor de bdélio.
8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
O povo se espalhava, e recolhia, e moía em moinhos, ou malhava em pilões, e o cozia em panelas, ou fazia dele bolos; e o seu sabor era como sabor de azeite fresco.
9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.
E quando o orvalho descia sobre o acampamento de noite, o maná descia sobre ele.
10 Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.
E Moisés ouviu o povo chorar por suas famílias, cada um à porta de sua tenda; e o furor do SENHOR se acendeu grandemente; também pareceu mal a Moisés.
11 And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore have you afflicted your servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people upon me?
E Moisés disse ao SENHOR: Por que fizeste mal a teu servo? E por que não achei favor aos teus olhos, que puseste sobremim a carga de todo este povo?
12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that you should say unto me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing father bears the nursing infant, unto the land which you sware unto their fathers?
Por acaso fui eu que concebi todo este povo? Fui o que o dei à luz, para que me digas: Leva-o em teu colo, como uma ama leva um bebê de peito, à terra da qual juraste a seus pais?
13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
De onde eu teria carne para dar a todo este povo? Porque choram a mim, dizendo: Dá-nos carne para comer.
14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
Não posso suportar sozinho todo este povo, porque é pesado demais para mim.
15 And if you deal thus with me, kill me, I pray you, instantly, if I have found favour in your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
E se assim fazes tu comigo, eu te rogo que me mates, se achei favor aos teus olhos; e que não me deixes ver a minha calamidade.
16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with you.
Então o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Ajunta-me setenta homens dos anciãos de Israel, de quem sabes que são anciãos do povo, e seus oficiais; e traze-os à porta do tabernáculo do testemunho, e esperem ali contigo.
17 And I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon you, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you bear it not yourself alone.
E eu descerei e falarei ali contigo; e tomarei do espírito que está sobre ti, e [o] porei neles; e contigo levarão a carga do povo, para que tu não [a] leves sozinho.
18 And say you unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and all of you shall eat flesh: for all of you have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and all of you shall eat.
Porém dirás ao povo: Santificai-vos para amanhã, e comereis carne; porque chorastes em ouvidos do SENHOR, dizendo: Quem nos dera comer carne! Certamente estávamos bem no Egito! O SENHOR, pois, vos dará carne, e comereis.
19 All of you shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;
Não comereis um dia, nem dois dias, nem cinco dias, nem dez dias, nem vinte dias;
20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that all of you have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
mas sim, um mês inteiro, até que vos saia pelas narinas, e sintais repulsa dela, porque rejeitastes o SENHOR que está no meio de vós, e chorastes diante dele, dizendo: Para que saímos do Egito?
21 And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and you have said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.
Então disse Moisés: Seiscentos mil a pé é este povo no meio do qual estou; e tu dizes: Eu lhes darei carne, e comerão um mês inteiro.
22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?
Por acaso serão degoladas para eles ovelhas e bois que lhes bastem? Ou se ajuntarão para eles todos os peixes do mar para que lhes sejam suficientes?
23 And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? you shall see now whether my word shall come to pass unto you or not.
Porém o SENHOR respondeu a Moisés: Por acaso o poder do SENHOR é curto? Agora verás se a minha palavra te acontecerá ou não.
24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.
E Moisés saiu, e disse ao povo as palavras do SENHOR; e ajuntou setenta homens dos anciãos do povo, e os pôs ao redor da tenda.
25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spoke unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
Então o SENHOR desceu na nuvem, e lhe falou; e tomou do espírito que estava sobre ele, e o pôs sobre aqueles setenta anciãos; e aconteceu que, quando o espírito repousou sobre eles, profetizaram, mas depois nunca mais.
26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.
Porém ficaram no acampamento dois homens, um chamado Eldade e o outro Medade, sobre os quais o espírito também repousou (porque estavam entre os inscritos, mas não haviam saído à tenda); e profetizaram no acampamento.
27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
Então um jovem correu, e avisou a Moisés, e disse: Eldade e Medade estão profetizando no acampamento.
28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
Então Josué, filho de Num, assistente de Moisés desde a sua juventude, respondeu, e disse: Meu senhor Moisés, impede-os.
29 And Moses said unto him, Envy you for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
E Moisés lhe respondeu: Tens tu ciúmes por mim? Bom seria se todos do povo do SENHOR fossem profetas, que o SENHOR pusesse seu Espírito sobre eles.
30 And Moses got him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
E Moisés recolheu-se ao acampamento, ele e os anciãos de Israel.
31 And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
E saiu um vento do SENHOR, que trouxe codornizes do mar, e deixou-as sobre o acampamento, de um dia de caminho de um lado e do outro, ao redor do acampamento, e quase dois côvados sobre a face da terra.
32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.
Então o povo se levantou e recolheu para si codornizes durante todo aquele dia, e toda a noite, e todo o dia seguinte. O que recolheu menos recolheu dez ômeres; e as estenderam para si ao redor do acampamento.
33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD stroke the people with a very great plague.
A carne ainda estava entre os dentes deles, antes que fosse mastigada, quando o furor do SENHOR se acendeu no povo, e o SENHOR feriu o povo com uma praga muito grande.
34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.
Por isso aquele lugar recebeu o nome de Quibrote-Hataavá, porque ali sepultaram o povo que teve o desejo.
35 And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.
De Quibrote-Hataavá o povo partiu para Hazerote, e ficaram em Hazerote.
