Nahum 3
1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departs not;
Ay! De ti ciudad sanguinaria; está llena de engaños y actos violentos; y no hay fin a tu rapiña.
2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the prancing horses, and of the jumping chariots.
El chasquido del látigo y el estruendo de las ruedas; caballos galopando y carruajes de guerra saltando,
3 The horseman lifts up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcasses; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
Jinetes avanzando, y la espada brillante y resplandor de la lanza; y un gran número de heridos, y multitud de cadáveres; tropezaran sobre los cuerpos de los muertos.
4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that sells nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Debido a todas las prostituciones de la ramera, llena de gracia y hermosura y sabia en hechicerías, que toma a las naciones y a las familias en la red de prostituciones y hechizos.
5 Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts; and I will discover your skirts upon your face, and I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame.
Mira, estoy en tu contra, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, y tendré tus faldas sobre tu rostro, y dejaré que las naciones te vean sin ropa, y los reinos tu vergüenza.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon you, and make you vile, and will set you as a gazing-stock.
Te haré completamente asquerosa y llena de vergüenza, y te pondré para que todos te vean.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon you shall flee from you, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will lament for her? whence shall I seek comforters for you?
Y sucederá que todos los que te ven huirán de ti y dirán: Nínive está destruida: ¿quién llorará por ella? ¿Dónde voy a conseguir consoladores para ella?
8 Are you better than populous No, that was situated among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
¿Eres mejor que No-amón, sentado en las corrientes del Nilo, con aguas a su alrededor; ¿De quién era el mar su trinchera y el mar su muralla?
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were your helpers.
Etiopía era su fortaleza y Egipto, no tenía límite; Fut y Libios fueron sus aliados.
10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
Pero incluso a ella se la llevaron, ella se fue como prisionera; incluso sus hijos pequeños son destrozados en todas las esquinas de las calles; el destino de sus hombres honorables se decide por suertes sobre ellos, y todos sus grandes hombres son encadenados.
11 You also shall be drunken: you shall be hid, you also shall seek strength because of the enemy.
Y serás vencida por el vino, te esconderas; estarás buscando refugio de tu enemigo.
12 All your strong holds shall be like fig trees with the first-fruits figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
Todos tus lugares amurallados serán como higueras y a tu gente como los primeros higos, cayendo con un temblor en la boca que está abierta para ellos.
13 Behold, your people in the midst of you are women: the gates of your land shall be set wide open unto your enemies: the fire shall devour your bars.
Tu ejército parece formado de mujeres a tu enemigo; las puertas de tu tierra están abiertas para tus atacantes: las cerraduras de tus puertas se han quemado en el fuego.
14 Draw you waters for the siege, fortify your strong holds: go into clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brick-kiln.
Prepara agua para el momento en que estés rodeado, restaura tus fortalezas; mezcla el barro con los pies, restaura el molde de ladrillos.
15 There shall the fire devour you; the sword shall cut you off, it shall eat you up like the cankerworm: make yourself many as the cankerworm, make yourself many as the locusts.
Allí el fuego te consumirá; serás cortado por la espada; multiplícate como los chapulines, multiplícate como los saltamontes.
16 You have multiplied your merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoils, and flees away.
Que tus comerciantes se incrementen más que las estrellas del cielo.
17 Your crowned are as the locusts, and your captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun arises they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
Tus oficiales son como saltamontes, y tus escribas como las nubes de insectos que se cubren en las paredes en un día frío, pero cuando sale el sol salen volando y ya no se sabe dónde están.
18 Your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: your nobles shall dwell in the dust: your people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathers them.
¡Ay! ¡Cómo duermen los guardianes de tu rebaño, oh rey de Asiria! tus hombres fuertes están en reposo; tu pueblo se dispersó por las montañas y no hay nadie para juntarlos.
19 There is no healing of your bruise; your wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of you shall clap the hands over you: for upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?
Tu dolor no se puede mejorar; estás herido de muerte; todos los que escuchen las noticias sobre ti aplaudirán sus manos con alegría sobre ti; porque ¿quién no ha sufrido el peso de tu maldad una y otra vez?
