Matthew 20
1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
Porque el reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre, padre de familias, que salió por la mañana a coger peones para su viña.
2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
Y concertado con los peones por un denario al día, los envió a su viña.
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
Y saliendo cerca de la hora de las tres, vio otros que estaban en la plaza ociosos,
4 And said unto them; Go all of you also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
Y les dijo: Id también vosotros a mi viña, y os daré lo que fuere justo. Y ellos fueron.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
Salió otra vez cerca de las seis y de las nueve horas, e hizo lo mismo.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and says unto them, Why stand all of you here all the day idle?
Y saliendo cerca de las once horas, halló otros que estaban ociosos, y les dijo: ¿Por qué estáis aquí todo el día ociosos?
7 They say unto him, Because no man has hired us. He says unto them, Go all of you also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall all of you receive.
Dícenle ellos: Porque nadie nos ha cogido. Díceles: Id también vosotros a la viña, y recibiréis lo que fuere justo.
8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard says unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
Y cuando fue la tarde del día, el señor de la viña dijo a su administrador: Llama los peones, y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los postreros hasta los primeros.
9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
Y viniendo los que habían venido cerca de las once horas, recibieron cada uno un denario.
10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
Y viniendo también los primeros, pensaron que habían de recibir más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.
11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
Y tomándo lo, murmuraban contra el padre de la familia,
12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and you have made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
Diciendo: Estos postreros solo han trabajado una hora, y los has hecho iguales a nosotros, que hemos llevado la carga, y el calor del día.
13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do you no wrong: did not you agree with me for a penny?
Y él respondiendo dijo a uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago agravio. ¿No te concertaste conmigo por un denario?
14 Take that your is, and go your way: I will give unto this last, even as unto you.
Toma lo que es tuyo, y vete: yo quiero dar a este postrero como a ti.
15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?
¿No me es lícito a mí hacer lo que quiero en mis cosas? ¿O es malo tu ojo, porque yo soy bueno?
16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
Así los primeros serán postreros; y los postreros primeros; porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos.
17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
Y subiendo Jesús a Jerusalem, tomó sus doce discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo:
18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
He aquí, subimos a Jerusalem, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte.
19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Y le entregarán a los Gentiles, para que le escarnezcan, y azoten, y crucifiquen; mas al tercero día resucitará.
20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
Entonces se llegó a él la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, adorando, y pidiéndole algo.
21 And he said unto her, What will you? She says unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on your right hand, and the other on the left, in your kingdom.
Y él le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Ella le dijo: Di que se asienten estos dos hijos míos, el uno a tu mano derecha, y el otro a tu izquierda, en tu reino.
22 But Jesus answered and said, All of you know not what all of you ask. Are all of you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
Entonces Jesús respondiendo, dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber de la copa de que yo tengo que beber; y ser bautizados del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado? Dicen ellos: Podemos.
23 And he says unto them, All of you shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
El les dice: A la verdad de mi copa beberéis; y del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados; mas sentaros a mi mano derecha, y a mi izquierda, no es mío darlo, sino a los que está aparejado por mi Padre.
24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
Y como los diez oyeron esto, se enojaron de los dos hermanos.
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, All of you know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
Entonces Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Ya sabéis que los príncipes de los Gentiles se enseñorean sobre ellos; y los que son grandes ejercen sobre ellos potestad.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
Mas entre vosotros no será así; sino el que entre vosotros quisiere hacerse grande, será vuestro servidor;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
Y el que entre vosotros quisiere ser el primero, será vuestro siervo:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Así como el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
Entonces saliendo ellos de Jericó, le seguía una gran multitud.
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David.
Y, he aquí, dos ciegos sentados junto al camino, como oyeron que Jesús pasaba, clamaron, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.
31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David.
Y la multitud les reñía para que callasen; mas ellos clamaban más, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.
32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will all of you that I shall do unto you?
Y parándose Jesús, los llamó, y dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
Dícenle ellos: Señor, que sean abiertos nuestros ojos.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
Entonces Jesús teniéndoles misericordia, tocó los ojos de ellos, y luego sus ojos recibieron la vista, y le siguieron.
