< Matthew 13 >

1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
Mũthenya o ro ũcio-rĩ, Jesũ nĩoimire nyũmba agĩthiĩ agĩikara thĩ hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria.
2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
Ikundi cia andũ aingĩ mũno ikĩũngana harĩa aarĩ nginya ĩgĩtũma atoonye gatarũ na agĩikara thĩ thĩinĩ wayo, nao andũ acio othe makĩrũgama hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria.
3 And he spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Nake akĩmaruta maũndũ maingĩ na ngerekano, akĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Mũrĩmi nĩoimagarire akahure mbeũ ciake.
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Na rĩrĩa aahuraga mbeũ icio-rĩ, imwe ikĩgũa mũkĩra-inĩ wa njĩra, nacio nyoni igĩũka ĩgĩcirĩa.
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
Ingĩ ikĩgũa rũnyanjara-inĩ kũrĩa gũtaarĩ na tĩĩri mũingĩ. Nacio ikĩmera o narua tondũ tĩĩri ndwarĩ mũriku.
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
Na hĩndĩ ĩrĩa riũa rĩarire, rĩgĩcina mĩmera ĩyo, nayo ĩkĩũma tondũ ndĩarĩ na mĩri.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
Na mbeũ ingĩ ikĩgũa mĩigua-inĩ, nayo mĩigua ĩgĩkũra, ĩgĩthararia mbeũ icio rĩrĩa ciamerire.
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Ingĩ nacio ikĩgũa tĩĩri-inĩ ũrĩa mũnoru, ikĩgĩa na maciaro imwe ĩgĩciara maita igana, iria ingĩ igĩciara maita mĩrongo ĩtandatũ, na iria ingĩ igĩciara maita mĩrongo ĩtatũ ma iria ciahaandirwo.
9 Who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Ũrĩa ũrĩ na matũ ma kũigua, nĩaigue.”
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speak you unto them in parables?
Nao arutwo ake magĩũka kũrĩ we, makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Waragĩria andũ na ngerekano nĩkĩ?”
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ nĩmũheetwo ũmenyo wa kũmenya hitho cia ũthamaki wa igũrũ, no-o matiheetwo.
12 For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he has.
Ũrĩa wothe ũrĩ na indo nĩakoongererwo nyingĩ aingĩhie makĩria. Nake ũrĩa wothe ũtarĩ, nĩagatuunywo o na kĩrĩa arĩ nakĩo.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Gĩkĩ nĩkĩo gĩtũmaga ndĩmaarĩrie na ngerekano: “Nĩ ũndũ o na gũkorwo nĩmoonaga-rĩ, mationaga; o na gũkorwo nĩmaiguaga-rĩ, matiiguaga kana makamenya.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, By hearing all of you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing all of you shall see, and shall not perceive:
Nĩo makinyĩirwo nĩ ũhoro ũrĩa warathirwo nĩ mũnabii Isaia, rĩrĩa oigire atĩrĩ: “‘Kũigua mũgũtũũra mũiguaga, no mũtikaamenya ũndũ; kuona mũgũtũũra muonaga, no mũtigakuũkĩrwo.
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
“‘Nĩgũkorwo ngoro cia andũ aya nĩ ngingitaru; matũ mao matiiguaga, na nĩmahingĩte maitho mao. Tondũ maahota kuona na maitho mao, na maigue na matũ mao, o na ngoro ciao igĩe na ũmenyo, manjookerere, na niĩ ndĩmahonie.’
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
No kũrathimwo nĩ maitho manyu tondũ nĩmoonaga, na matũ manyu tondũ nĩmaiguaga.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which all of you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which all of you hear, and have not heard them.
18 Hear all of you therefore the parable of the sower.
“Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, ta iguai ngĩtaarĩria ũhoro wa ngerekano ĩyo ya mũhuri wa mbeũ:
19 When any one hears the word (logos) of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mũndũ o wothe aigua ndũmĩrĩri ya ũthamaki na akaaga kũmĩmenya-rĩ, hĩndĩ ĩyo ũrĩa mũũru okaga akamũtunya kĩrĩa kĩhaande ngoro-inĩ yake. Ĩno nĩyo mbeũ ĩrĩa yahurirwo mũkĩra-inĩ wa njĩra.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that hears the word, (logos) and soon with joy receives it;
Ũrĩa wamũkĩrire mbeũ ĩrĩa yagũire rũnyanjara-inĩ nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũiguaga kiugo, na o rĩmwe agakĩamũkĩra arĩ na gĩkeno.
21 Yet has he not root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, (logos) by and by he is offended.
No tondũ ndarĩ mĩri-rĩ, aikaraga o kahinda kanini. Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa thĩĩna woka, kana kwagĩa na kĩnyariirano nĩ ũndũ wa kiugo-rĩ, agagĩtiganĩria o narua.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; (logos) and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, (logos) and he becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
Nake ũrĩa wamũkagĩra mbeũ ĩrĩa yagũire mĩigua-inĩ-rĩ, nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũiguaga kiugo, no mĩhangʼo ya mũtũũrĩre ũyũ, na kũheenererio nĩ ũtonga, igagĩthararia, ikagiria kĩgĩe na maciaro. (aiōn g165)
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, (logos) and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
No ũrĩa wamũkĩrire mbeũ ĩrĩa yagũire tĩĩri-inĩ ũrĩa mũnoru-rĩ, nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũiguaga kiugo, na agakĩmenya. Nake agaciara maciaro, ũmwe akaruta maita igana, ũngĩ maita mĩrongo ĩtandatũ, na ũngĩ maita mĩrongo ĩtatũ ma mbeũ ĩrĩa yahaandĩtwo.”
24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Ningĩ Jesũ akĩmahe ngerekano ĩngĩ, akĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Ũthamaki wa igũrũ ũhaana ta mũndũ ũrĩa wahaandire mbeũ njega mũgũnda wake.
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
No rĩrĩa andũ othe maakomete-rĩ, thũ yake ĩgĩũka, ĩkĩhura itindiĩ thĩinĩ wa ngano, na ĩgĩĩthiĩra.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ngano yamerire na igĩciara-rĩ, hĩndĩ ĩyo itindiĩ o narĩo rĩkĩonekana.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, did not you sow good seed in your field? from whence then has it tares?
“Ndungata cia mwene mũgũnda igĩũka kũrĩ we, ikĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, ‘Mwathi witũ, githĩ ndwahaandire mbeũ njega mũgũnda waku? Kaĩ itindiĩ rĩkiumĩte kũ?’
28 He said unto them, An enemy has done this. The servants said unto him, Will you then that we go and gather them up?
“Agĩcookia atĩrĩ, ‘Nĩ mũndũ ũrĩ ũthũ na niĩ wekire ũguo.’ “Ndungata icio ikĩmũũria atĩrĩ, ‘Nĩũkwenda tũthiĩ, tũkarĩmunye?’
29 But he said, Nay; lest while all of you gather up the tares, all of you root up also the wheat with them.
“Nake agĩcookia atĩrĩ, ‘Aca, tondũ mũkĩmunya itindiĩ rĩu, mwahota kũrĩmunyanĩria na ngano.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather all of you together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Rekei ikũranĩre nginya hĩndĩ ya magetha. Hĩndĩ ĩyo-rĩ, nĩngeera agethi atĩrĩ: Ambai mũmunye itindiĩ na mũrĩohe itĩĩa, nĩguo rĩcinwo; mũcooke mũcookanĩrĩrie ngano, mũmĩige ikũmbĩ rĩakwa.’”
31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
Nĩamaheire ngerekano ĩngĩ, akĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Ũthamaki wa igũrũ ũtariĩ ta mbeũ ya karatarĩ, ĩrĩa mũndũ oire akĩhaanda mũgũnda wake.
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
O na akorwo mbeũ ĩyo nĩyo nini mũno kũrĩ mbeũ ciothe-rĩ, rĩrĩa yakũra, nĩĩnenehaga kũrĩ mĩmera ĩrĩa ĩngĩ ya mũgũnda na ĩgatuĩka mũtĩ, nacio nyoni cia rĩera-inĩ igooka igaaka itara honge-inĩ ciaguo.”
33 Another parable spoke he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
Agĩcooka akĩmahe ngerekano o ĩngĩ, akĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Ũthamaki wa igũrũ ũhaana ta ndawa ya kũimbia mĩgate ĩrĩa mũndũ-wa-nja oire na akĩmĩtukania na mũtu mũingĩ o nginya mũtu ũcio wothe ũkĩimbio nĩyo.”
34 All these things spoke Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spoke he not unto them:
Jesũ aaragĩria kĩrĩndĩ maũndũ macio mothe na ngerekano na ndaamaragĩria ũndũ o na ũmwe atekũhũthĩra ngerekano.
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Nĩguo ũhoro ũrĩa waaririo na kanua ka mũnabii ũhinge rĩrĩa oigire atĩrĩ: “Ngaatumũra kanua gakwa njarie na ngerekano, nĩngaaria maũndũ marĩa matũire marĩ mahithe kuuma rĩrĩa thĩ yombirwo.”
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Hĩndĩ ĩyo agĩtiga kĩrĩndĩ, agĩtoonya nyũmba. Arutwo ake magĩũka kũrĩ we, makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Tũtaarĩrie ngerekano ya itindiĩ rĩrĩa rĩarĩ thĩinĩ wa mũgũnda.”
37 He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;
Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Ũrĩa wahaandire mbeũ njega nĩ Mũrũ wa Mũndũ.
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Mũgũnda nĩ thĩ, nayo mbeũ njega nĩcio ciana cia ũthamaki. Itindiĩ nĩ ciana cia ũrĩa mũũru,
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. (aiōn g165)
nayo thũ ĩrĩa ĩrĩhaandaga nĩ ũrĩa mũũru. Magetha nĩ ithirĩro rĩa mahinda maya, na agethi nĩ araika. (aiōn g165)
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. (aiōn g165)
“Nĩ ũndũ ũcio o ta ũrĩa itindiĩ rĩmunyagwo rĩgacinwo na mwaki-rĩ, ũguo noguo gũkahaana hĩndĩ ya ithirĩro rĩa mahinda maya. (aiōn g165)
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mũrũ wa Mũndũ nĩagatũma araika ake, na nĩmakeheria maũndũ mothe marĩa marehaga mehia na andũ arĩa othe mekaga ũũru ũthamaki-inĩ wake.
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Nĩmakamaikia thĩinĩ wa icua rĩa mwaki, kũrĩa gũgaakorwo kĩrĩro na kũhagarania magego.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Hĩndĩ ĩyo arĩa athingu magaakenga ta riũa thĩinĩ wa ũthamaki wa Ithe wao. Ũrĩa ũrĩ na matũ nĩ aigue.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
“Ũthamaki wa igũrũ ũhaanaine na mũthiithũ wahithĩtwo mũgũnda. Na rĩrĩa mũndũ aawoonire, akĩũhitha rĩngĩ, na nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa akenete, agĩthiĩ akĩendia indo ciothe iria arĩ nacio akĩgũra mũgũnda ũcio.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
“Ningĩ ũthamaki wa igũrũ ũhaanaine na mwonjorithia wacaragia ruru njega.
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa oonire ĩmwe ya thogora mũnene-rĩ, agĩthiĩ akĩendia indo ciake ciothe iria aarĩ nacio, akĩmĩgũra.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
“O rĩngĩ, ũthamaki wa igũrũ ũhaanaine na neti ĩrĩa yaikirio iria-inĩ, nayo ĩgĩtega thamaki cia mĩthemba yothe.
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa yaiyũrire, ategi acio a thamaki makĩmĩguucia hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria. Hĩndĩ ĩyo magĩikara thĩ, magĩthuura thamaki iria njega, magĩciĩkĩra ikabũ-inĩ, no iria njũru magĩcite.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, (aiōn g165)
Ũguo nĩguo gũgaakorwo hĩndĩ ya ithirĩro rĩa mahinda maya. Araika nĩmagooka maamũranie arĩa aaganu kuuma kũrĩ arĩa athingu, (aiōn g165)
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
na maikie arĩa aaganu icua-inĩ rĩa mwaki, kũrĩa gũgaakorwo na kĩrĩro na kũhagarania magego.”
51 Jesus says unto them, Have all of you understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
Jesũ akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Nĩmwataũkĩrwo nĩ maũndũ macio mothe?” Magĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ, nĩtwataũkĩrwo.”
52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.
53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
Nake Jesũ aarĩkia kũheana ngerekano icio-rĩ, akiuma kũu.
54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence has this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
Aakinya itũũra rĩa kwao-rĩ, akĩambĩrĩria kũrutana thunagogi-inĩ ciao, nao makĩgega. Makĩũrania atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũyũ arutĩte kũ ũũgĩ ũyũ na ciĩko ici cia hinya?
55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Githĩ ũyũ ti we mũrũ wa mũtharamara? Githĩ rĩĩtwa rĩa nyina ti Mariamu, na githĩ ariũ a nyina ti Jakubu, na Jusufu, na Simoni, na Juda?
56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then has this man all these things?
Na githĩ aarĩ a nyina othe tũtirĩ nao? Mũndũ ũyũ akĩrutĩte maũndũ maya mothe kũ?”
57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
Nao makĩmũrega. No Jesũ akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Kũndũ mũnabii ataheagwo gĩtĩĩo no itũũra-inĩ rĩake na gwake mũciĩ.”
58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Nake ndaaringire ciama nyingĩ kũu, tondũ wa ũrĩa maagĩte gwĩtĩkia.
