Joshua 15
1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
La suerte de la tribu de los hijos de Judá, según sus familias, fue hasta el límite de Edom, hasta el desierto de Zin hacia el sur, en el extremo del sur.
2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looks southward:
Su límite sur era desde el extremo del Mar Salado, desde la bahía que mira hacia el sur;
3 And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:
y salía hacia el sur de la subida de Akrabbim, y pasaba por Zin, y subía por el sur de Cades Barnea, y pasaba por Esrom, subía por Addar, y se volvía hacia Karka;
4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the activities out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.
y pasaba por Azmón, salía por el arroyo de Egipto; y el límite terminaba en el mar. Esta será su frontera sur.
5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:
El límite oriental era el Mar Salado, hasta el final del Jordán. El límite del norte era desde la bahía del mar hasta el final del Jordán.
6 And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
El límite subía hasta Bet Hogá, y pasaba por el norte de Bet Araba; y el límite subía hasta la piedra de Bohán, hijo de Rubén.
7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the activities out thereof were at Enrogel:
La frontera subía hasta Debir desde el valle de Acor, y así hacia el norte, mirando hacia Gilgal, que está frente a la subida de Adummim, que está al lado sur del río. La frontera pasaba hasta las aguas de En Shemesh, y terminaba en En Rogel.
8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:
La frontera subía por el valle del hijo de Hinom hasta el lado del jebuseo (también llamado Jerusalén) hacia el sur; y la frontera subía hasta la cima del monte que está frente al valle de Hinom hacia el oeste, que está en la parte más lejana del valle de Refaim hacia el norte.
9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:
La frontera se extendía desde la cima del monte hasta el manantial de las aguas de Neftoa, y salía a las ciudades del monte Efrón; y la frontera se extendía hasta Baalá (también llamada Quiriat Jearim);
10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:
y la frontera giraba desde Baalá hacia el oeste, hacia el monte Seir, y pasaba al lado del monte Jearim (también llamado Cesalón), al norte, y bajaba a Bet Semes, y pasaba junto a Timná;
11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the activities out of the border were at the sea.
y la frontera salía al lado de Ecrón hacia el norte; y la frontera se extendía hasta Siquerón, y pasaba por el monte Baalá, y salía por Jabneel; y las salidas de la frontera estaban en el mar.
12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
El límite occidental llegaba hasta la orilla del gran mar. Esta es la frontera de los hijos de Judá según sus familias.
13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.
Le dio a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, una porción entre los hijos de Judá, según el mandato de Yahvé a Josué, hasta Quiriat Arba, llamada así por el padre de Anac (también llamada Hebrón).
14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
Caleb expulsó a los tres hijos de Anac Sesai, Ahiman y Talmai, hijos de Anac.
15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.
Subió contra los habitantes de Debir, que antes se llamaba Kiriath Sepher.
16 And Caleb said, He that strikes Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
Caleb dijo: “Al que ataque a Quiriat-Sfer y lo tome, le daré a mi hija Acsa como esposa”.
17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
La tomó Othniel, hijo de Kenaz, hermano de Caleb, y le dio a Acsa, su hija, como esposa.
18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What would you?
Cuando ella llegó, le hizo pedir a su padre un campo. Ella se bajó del asno, y Caleb le dijo: “¿Qué quieres?”
19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.
Ella dijo: “Dame una bendición. Ya que me has puesto en la tierra del Sur, dame también manantiales de agua”. Así que le dio los muelles superiores y los inferiores.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
Esta es la herencia de la tribu de los hijos de Judá según sus familias.
21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,
Las ciudades más lejanas de la tribu de los hijos de Judá hacia la frontera de Edom, en el sur, fueron Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,

38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
Cabbon, Lahmam, Chitlish,
41 And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:
Gederoth, Beth Dagon, Naamah, y Makkedah; dieciséis ciudades con sus aldeas.
42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
Ifá, Asná, Nezib,
44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:
Keilá, Achzib y Maresá; nueve ciudades con sus aldeas.
45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:
Ecrón, con sus ciudades y sus aldeas;
46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:
desde Ecrón hasta el mar, todos los que estaban junto a Asdod, con sus aldeas.
47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:
Asdod, sus ciudades y sus aldeas; Gaza, sus ciudades y sus aldeas; hasta el arroyo de Egipto, y el gran mar con su costa.
48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,
En la región de las colinas, Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,
49 And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir,
Dannah, Kiriath Sannah (que es Debir),
50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:
Goshen, Holon y Giloh; once ciudades con sus aldeas.
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

54 And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:
Humtah, Kiriath Arba (también llamada Hebrón) y Zior; nueve ciudades con sus aldeas.
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,
Maón, Carmelo, Zif, Jutah,
56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,
Jezreel, Jocdeam, Zanoa,
57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:
Caín, Guibeá y Timná; diez ciudades con sus aldeas.
58 Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,
Halhul, Beth Zur, Gedor,
59 And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:
Maarath, Beth Anoth y Eltekon; seis ciudades con sus aldeas.
60 Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:
Kiriath Baal (también llamada Kiriath Jearim), y Rabbah; dos ciudades con sus aldeas.
61 In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,
En el desierto, Bet Araba, Middin, Secacah,
62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.
Nibshan, la Ciudad de la Sal y En Gedi; seis ciudades con sus aldeas.
63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
En cuanto a los jebuseos, habitantes de Jerusalén, los hijos de Judá no pudieron expulsarlos; pero los jebuseos viven con los hijos de Judá en Jerusalén hasta el día de hoy.
