< John 5 >

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Khawnghi iqyt awm a dii hlanawh, Judakhqi poei bul aham Jesu taw Jerusalem na cet hy.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
Jerusalem khaw awhkaw Tuu chawmkeng a venawh tuili pynoet awm hy, Aqamaic awi na Bethesdatina khy uhy, ce tuili ce tung pumha ing chung unawh tih uhy.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
Cawh ak tlo ak naa thlang khawzah zaih uhy, mikhyp, khawkhem, khawk zuikhqi ce awm uhy, cekkhqi ing tui ak phyl ce qeh uhy.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
A tym tym awh Bawipa ak khan ceityih ce nu law hoeih hoeih nawh tui ce phyl sak hy. A u awm lamma cyk na tui a phyl huili awh ak cawn taw ikawmyih a tlawhnaak awm qoei hy.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
Amah cawh kum thumkip kumkhqet ak zaih hawh thlaktlo pynoet awm hy.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he says unto him, Will you be made whole?
Jesu ing cawhkaw thlaktlo kum khawqyt cawh awm hawh hy tice a sim dawngawh, doet hy, “Roei nak ngaih aw?” tina hy.
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steps down before me.
Cawhkaw thlaktlo ing, “Bawipa, tui a phyl awh tui na anik khawng hly thlang am awm hy. Tho lawt hlai nyng, nik khai boeih uhy,” tina hy.
8 Jesus says unto him, Rise, take up your bed, and walk.
Jesu ing a venawh, “Tho nawh na hiphaih ce lo nawh cet hlah!” tina hy.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Cawh cawhkaw thlang ce qoei pahoei hy; a hiphaih ce lo nawh cet hy. Ce nyn taw Sabbath nyn na awm hy.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.
Cedawngawh Judakhqi ing cawhkaw ak qoei thlang a venawh, “Tuhngawi ve Sabbath nyn ni; anaa awi ing hiphaih doeng aham kham hy,” tina uhy.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up your bed, and walk.
Cehlai anih ing, “Kai anik qoei sak thlang ing, ‘Na hiphaih ce lo nawh cet hlah,’ ni tina hy,” tinak khqi hy.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto you, Take up your bed, and walk?
Na hiphaih doeng nawh ceh aham anik kqawn peekkung ce a u nu?” tinawh doet uhy.
13 And he that was healed know not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
Cawh ak awm thlang kqeng khuina a lut taak valh hawh a dawngawh, cawhkaw ak qoei thlang ing a u hy voei nu tice am sim hy.
14 Afterward Jesus finds him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, you are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto you.
A huna Jesu ing anih ce bawkim khuiawh hu nawh a venawh, “Toek lah, na sa dip hawh hy. Thawlhnaak koeh sai voel, cemyih am awhtaw nak khanawh ik-oeih amak leek khqoet pha law kaw,” tina hy.
15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
Ce ak thlang ce cet nawh anih ak qoei sakkung taw Jesu ni, tice Judakhqi venawh kqawn pehy.
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
Ceamyihna Sabbath nyn awh Jesu ing vemyih ik-oeihkhqi a sai dawngawh, Judakhqi ing the a kha na uhy.
17 But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.
Jesu ing a mingmih a venawh, “Ka pa ing a poepa na tuhngawi dy awh bibi hy, cedawngawh kai ingawm bibi nyng,” tinak khqi hy.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Sabbath nyn ama zeih doeng am nawh, Khawsa awm Ka pa tinawh khy hy, Khawsa ingkaw amah ce ang myihna a taak ak caming, Judakhqi ing anih ce him aham cai khqoet uhy.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things whatsoever he does, these also does the Son likewise.
Jesu ing cekkhqi ce vemyihna awi hlat hy: “Awitak ka nik kqawn peek khqi. Capa ing amah poek awh ikaw awm am sai thai hy, a Pa ing a sai boeih boeih ce Capa ingawm sai lawt hy.
20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that himself does: and he will show him greater works than these, that all of you may marvel.
Pa ing Capa a lungnaak dawngawh a ik-oeih sai boeih boeih ce huh hy. Oeih, nangmih naming ngaih a kyinaak aham ve anglakawh ik-oeih ak bau khqoet ce nim huh khqi hyn bai kaw.
21 For as the Father raises up the dead, and replenishes life to them; even so the Son gives life to whom he will.
Pa ing thlakthikhqi thawh nawh hqingnaak a peek amyihna, Capa ingawm amah ing a ngaih thlangkhqi venawh hqingnaak ce pehy.
22 For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son:
Cekcoengawh, Pa ing u awm awi am deng hy, cehlai awi deng thainaak ce Capa a venawh pe boeih hy,
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him.
Pa ce amik kqihchah a myihna Capa ce thlang boeih ing ak kqihchahnaak thai aham cemyihna pehy. U awm Capa ce amak kqihchahnaak taw, Capa ak tyikung Pa awm anih ing ap kqihchah hy.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, (logos) and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (aiōnios g166)
Awitak ka nik kqawn peek khqi, u awm kak awi ce za nawh ak tyikung ce ak cangnaak thlang taw kumqui hqingnaak ce ta hawh hy, anih ce thawlh sak na am awm voel kaw: thihnaak awhkawng hqingnaak ak khuiawh lut hawh hy. (aiōnios g166)
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Awitak ka nik kqawn peek khqi, thlakthikhqi ing Thlanghqing Capa ak awi aming zaaknaak tym ce law kaw, tuh awm law hawh hy, ak zakhqi boeih ce hqing kawm uh.
26 For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Pa ing amah awh hqingnaak a taak amyihna, Capa ingawm amah awh hqingnaak a taaknaak lawt aham pe hawh hy.
27 And has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Anih ce Thlanghqing Capa na a awm dawngawh awideng thainaak ce pehy.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Ve ak camawh naming ngaih koeh kyi sak uh, phyi ak khuiawh ak awmkhqi boeih ing anih ak awi aming zaaknaak tym ce law kaw,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
them leek ak saikhqi taw hqingnaak pang aham tho kawm usaw, them che ak saikhqi awm awidengnaak pang aham tho lawt kawm uh.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.
Kamah ak caming ikaw awm am sai thai nyng; kang zaak amyihna awi deng nyng, kamah ak kawngaih ce am sui nyng saw, kai anik tyikung Pa ak kawngaih ce ka sui dawngawh, kak awidengnaak awm dyng hy.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
Kamah akawng ve kamah ha ing dyihthing na kang dyih pyi mantaw, dyihthing na kang dyihpyinaak ve am thym kaw.
32 There is another that bears witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true.
Cehlai kai dyihthing na anik dyih pyikung thlang pynoet awm hy, anih ing kai a ning dyihpyinaak ce thym hy.
33 All of you sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
Nangmih ing Johan a venna thlang tyi u tiksaw anih ing awitak dyihthing ce dyihpyi hy.
34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that all of you might be saved.
Thlanghqing a simpyinaak ce am do nyng; thaawngnaak nami huh thainaak ahamni kak kqawn hy.
35 He was a burning and a shining light: and all of you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
Johan taw vangnaak ak pekung mai-im na awm hy, nangmih ing anih a vangnaak khuiawh zeel aham kawlhkalh awhtaw tyk uhyk ti.
36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me.
Kai a simpyinaak ve Johan a simpyinaak anglakawh bau khqoet hy. Kai ing kak coeng aham Pa ing ka venawh ani peek bibi, tuhkaw ka bibi ing, Pa ing kai ni tyi hy, tice dyih pyi hy.
37 And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne witness of me. All of you have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
Kai anik tyikung Pa ing kai awh ce simpyinaak tahy. Nanngmih ing anih ak awi ce am za khawi uhyk ti, a myi awm am hu khawi uhyk ti,
38 And all of you have not his word (logos) abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him all of you believe not.
anih ing a tyih ak thlang ce nangmih ing am namik cangnaak dawngawh, ak awi ce nangmih ak khuiawh awm am awm hy.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them all of you think all of you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (aiōnios g166)
Cabu Ciim ak caming kumqui hqingnaak ak ta thlang na namik poek dawngawh, Cakciim taw ak leek cana toek uhyk ti. Vawhkaw Cakciim ing kai ve ning dyihpyi hlai ti maw, (aiōnios g166)
40 And all of you will not come to me, that all of you might have life.
kumqui hqingnaak huh aham ka venawh law aham taw am ngaih lak law bai uhyk ti.
41 I receive not honour from men.
Thlanghqing am kyihcahnaak awi ce am do nyng,
42 But I know you, that all of you have not the love (agape) of God in you.
cehlai nangmih ce ni sim khqi nyng. Nangmih ing Khawsa a lungnaak namik kawlung khuiawh am ta uhyk ti, tice sim nyng.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and all of you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him all of you will receive.
Kapa ang ming ing kai taw law nyng, cehlai nangmih ing amni do uhyk ti; thlakchang a u awm amah ang ming ing a law mantaw, do hlai voei uk ti.
44 How can all of you believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that comes from God only?
Khawsa a ven doeng awhkawng ak law kyihcahnaak ce huh aham a sui kaana, pynoet ingkaw pynoet am kyihcahnaak ak suikhqi ing ikawmyihna namik cangnaak pai kaw?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom all of you trust.
Cehlai kai ing Pa a haiawh thawlh nik puk kaw, tinawh koeh poek uh. Nangmih thawlh anik pukkhqikung taw nangmih ing naming ngaih-u Mosi ce ni.
46 For had all of you believed Moses, all of you would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
Mosi ce namik cangnaak mantaw, anih ing kai akawng ce ana qee dawngawh, kai awm nik cangna hlai voei uk ti.
47 But if all of you believe not his writings, how shall all of you believe my words? (rhema)
Cehlai anih a qee ce am namik cangnaak hawh awhtaw, ikawmyihna nu ak awi ve namik cangnaak pai kaw?” tinak khqi hy.
